PixiGlow Cake Blush Review

Hey beaut's!

Pixi is literally one of my favourite brands in terms of skincare however I haven't tried much of their makeup, in fact I've only ever tried a couple of the mini Pixi eyeliners which I received last Christmas and I must admit they where and still are the best eyeliners I've ever used, so when the PixiGlow Cake Blush landed on my door step I literally ripped the packaging off and whacked on my face more or less instantly, well after I had taken some blog pic's first of course!
The PixiGlow Cake Blushes come in two shades - GildedBare Glow and Pink Champagne Glow* which is the shade I have, these cakes (omg now I need some actual cake) have three shades blended together in an ombre style which can be used individually to highlight, blush and contour the skin or you can simply swirl your brush through all of the shades  to achieve the perfect seamless PixiGlow! Pink Champagne Glow is literally the perfect pink, it starts off with a gorgeous baby pink shade then moves onto a more vibrant pink and finishes off with a warm bronzer shade, personally for me I like to swirl my brush into both of the pink shades and then sweep the combination across my cheeks for a dewy, rosy glow and then I like to use the bronzer shade separately!
The formula of the PixiGlow Cake is lovely, the pigmentation is spot on, it blends like an absolute dream, their isn't any fallout and it lasts on my skin a full working day without any need of touching up, it's not a matte compact so it does add radiance and luminosity to the skin but without looking glittery which personally I love as it makes my skin look a lot less flat and pasty, so if your after something matte just bare that in mind! I also have to add just how HUGE this compact is, it's literally as big as my hand and contains a whopping 24 grams of product which is insane, I certainly wont be running out of mine anytime soon! I also think it's great value for money because not only are you getting a whopping amount of product but it's also 3 products in one, I absolutely love multi-use products!

Have you tried either of the PixiGlow Cakes beaut's? What did you think? I'd love to know!

You can find the PixiGlow Cake in Pink Champagne Glow HERE for £24.00.

New Releases From Technic Cosmetics!

Hey beaut's!

If you've read my blog for a while now you will know I'm a HUGE Technic Cosmetics fan, not only is their makeup super affordable but it's really good too. Something else I love about Technic is that their always working on new projects and releasing some amazing new collections and I've been testing out a few brand new products by Technic over the last month or so that I just have to share with you!

Technic Colour Max Face And Eyes Palette In Show Stopper* £6.00
This little palette is perfect if your going off on your holidays or if you like your makeup bag to be quite lightweight, it's a multi-use palette that contains four eyeshadows, a blusher, a highlighter and a bronzer! The four eyeshadows within the palette are all warm toned - super wearable shades for day or night, theres two matte shades and two metallic's which all blend easily with only a little fall out and they look so nice on the eyes around this time of the year! The blush, bronzer and highlighter all work beautifully, their well pigmented and blend with ease and I have to say the highlighter is absolutely blinding, I love it!

Technic Mega Blush Quad* £4.00
Another great little palette if your on your travels or if you like a nice selection of shades all in one place is this little Mega Blush Quad, it contains four all matte shades in different tones of pink to add a nice pinky flush to the cheeks! Again these pick up on the brush well, they blend really easily with very little fall out, they are buildable which I like because if you have an over pigmented blush you can end up looking like a clown and ruining your base makeup but these shades aren't like that at all, and for £4.00 you really cant go wrong,

Technic Shade Adjusting Highlighter Drops* £5.50 + Get Gorgeous Liquid Highlighter in Bloom* £4.50
These little highlighting drops have to be my favourite things, I'm all glowy skin and a few drops of this gorgeous stuff mixed in with my foundation creates the perfect dewy, radiant skin, ahh its lovely! You can also use them alone as a liquid highlighter and at the moment I've been loving mixing them in with my body moisturiser or sun cream to give my body that all over Summer glow! Honestly beaut's if you don't have any liquid highlighter drops in your collection you need some pronto!

Technic Prism Luna Rocks*

The Luna Rocks are a brand new addiction to Technic's popular Prism range, their essentially individual little square rocks of pale lilac, baby pink and white highlighter! They remind me on bronzing pearls my mum used to have when I was little, I used to be totally obsessed with them and now I can get them in highlighter form I'm pretty shook!! To use the Luna Rocks all you have to do is simply swirl a damp or dry brush around the rocks and then go to town on your face and body and get that glow going, these rocks look particularly good dusted on your shoulders and collar bone!

Technic Lip Primer* £4.00
This lip primer is an essential for me, I pop it on my lips whilst I apply my makeup and it preps my lips to perfection ready for me to pop on my chosen lip colour. The primer itself contains aloe vera and vitamin e which really softens and nourishes the lips and creates the perfect canvas for any lip product but especially dryer formula's like liquid lipsticks and matte lippies!

Technic Get Gorgeous Highlighting Powders* £4.50 each

Oh my, I think I've saved the best until last, how frickin' stunning are these highlighters! If you know me you'll know I'm not happy unless I am laced in highlighter and these really don't disappoint! Theres four shades to collect...Canary Diamond - this one looks icy white in the pan but when applied it has a beautiful golden shift to it, Perwinkle - a stunning violet highlighter with a pink shift to it, Virtuoso - this one is a super intense silver it almost looks like a foil sheen and lastly theres Galaxy Girl - this one is a cross between a galactic blue but with a lilac shift! Each highlighter comes in a sturdy plastic compact with the cutest star and moon raised design within the pan, they certainly look pretty cool. They have a super blendable formula which glows on the cheeks so nicely, theres a tiny amount of shimmer within each highlighter but nothing crazy, I love them!

You can find all of Technic's new launches along with the rest of their products on their website HERE. Also look out for full reviews and swatches on each product coming on my blog soon!

Technic Colour Fix Palettes Reviewed & Swatched!

Hey beaut's!

Recently I've blown away by Technic Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes, the quality is just so good for the price and when I saw Technic had a Colour Fix range that consists of blush, contour and highlight palettes in cream and powder formula's I just had to see what they where all about!

I think highlighting is my favourite step when applying my makeup, I'm literally obsessed with the look of highlighter on my skin, I mean who doesn't like to look like a glazed donut, I know I do he he, and Technic's Highlighting Palette can achieve just that! The palette itself contains 8 highlighting shades with two different formula's, the four shades along the top of the palette are pressed powders and the four shades across the bottom are baked powder, all of which create the most stunning highlight. As you can see from the swatches the shades of the highlighters are all different making it so versatile and suitable for all skin tones, and the quality is incredible, I'm talking super pigment, super blinding, super glazed donut and super affordable, I love it!

If you love a pink toned blush then this Colour Fix Powder Blush Palette is for you, it contains eight all matte shades - six of which are different tones of pink and two of which can double up as bronzers and blushes which is a nice bonus. The formula of these powders is lovely, I was quite surprised to see such pigment from matte blushes that are so affordable but as you can see from the swatches some of the shades are quite intense and a light hand is needed during application, they do go on beautifully though and blend out nicely, for £2.99 you really cant go wrong.

Contouring isn't something I do often but when I do I always like to opt for cream formulations as their so much easier to work with than powder and this Technic palette works a treat! All eight shades are so creamy and blendable and what I love the most is that they dry down to a matte finish which means they don't feel tacky, heavy or move around on my skin through the day. Theres a good mix of shades to play around with too whether you want to highlight or contour and I find it such an easy palette to use, which is really saying something because I'm such a novice when it comes to contouring, he he!

Overall I think whether your new to makeup or a pro these palettes are great, I honestly cant knock the quality for the price and I've really been enjoying using them all, I do have to admit that the highlighting palette is my favourite but that's only because I'm such a highlighter addict he he!

Have you tried any of Technic Cosmetics Colour Fix Palettes beaut's? Which is your favourite? I'd love to know!

Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

I keep seeing Milani makeup everywhere at the moment and something that keeps catching my eye are their gorgeous blushes, I think I now have about 5 of their blushes on my wishlist but the first one I had to give a whirl is the ever so popular Baked Blush in Luminoso.
Milani's Luminoso comes housed in a gold mirrored compact which has a flip-up compartment under the blush itself revealing a handy mirror and mini brush perfect for travelling and any on the go applications. Now lets get down to the juicy stuff... the actual blush... Luminoso is such a pretty peach toned pink shade with a gorgeous luminous sheen that looks perfect on the cheeks for Spring and Summer, it's so healthy looking and dewy without being glittery or sparkly in the slightest. Formula wise it's nice, because it's a baked powder it's incredibly finely milled and has such a soft, smooth texture with medium pigmentation which I favour because it allows me wear the blush softer some days or I can build it up for a more intense pop of colour. Lasting power is great too, the colour and luminous sheen stays put on my skin most of the day without fading, going patchy or sticking to dry patches, the only downside I have is that the blush can be a little powdery/dusty when I pick it up on my brush but it's nothing 'tapping off the excess' wont fix so it's not a major for me.

Overall I bloody love this blush and I can now see why it's so popular, it adds the prettiest flush to my cheeks and I love the fact it has that luminous sheen to it without all the glitter because I hate glittery blushes. Luminoso looks so dewy and healthy and screams Spring and Summer to me, trust me beaut's you need this bad boy in your makeup bag pronto, I think it would suit most skin tones too.

You can find Milani's Baked Blush in Luminoso for £9.95 HERE.

Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette First Impressions - Yay or Nay?

Hey beaut's!

I had been lusting after the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette ever since I saw glimpses of it in the works last year, and finally on the 19th of January Debenhams launched it along side some other Sweet Peach beauties. I quickly snapped up a Glow Palette on the day of release because not only does it look absolutely stunning, but I bought the Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette last year when it was first launched in the UK and still to this day it's one of my favourite, best quality palettes I own so I had such high hopes for this little glowing palette.
The Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette comes packaged in a cutesy pink/peach/orange ombre style tin with a handy mirror on the inside of the lid, some might find the packaging a bit young or tacky but I absolutely love it and I think Too Faced get packaging so right! The palettes contents is said to be a glowing goddesses dream, it contains a Highlighter, Blusher and a Bronzer all of which are infused with the juicy scent and skin-loving essence of peach to give your face a radiant natural peach glow.
After taking a few snaps of the palette I quickly got stuck in with some swatches and really liked the colour pay off on the back of my hand, the highlighter had a gorgeous peachy-champagne glow, the blush was the most beautiful shade of peach and was super dewy looking and the bronzer was nice and warm but admittedly a bit on the sparkly side for me but would definitely still be something I'd reach for in the Summer months however... It was the application process that has really let this palette down for me - que the cry face emoji, the pigment just doesn't transfer from the brush to the skin well at all. I have gone through so many brushes trying to find the correct brush to use with each product within the glow palette, this is something you really shouldn't have to do especially when you've forked out £34.00. I've found the denser the brush the better, so if you like applying your highlighter with a fan brush like me then that wont work with the glow palette, I literally got no where with my fan brush, instead I use my Real Techniques setting brush and that works quite well with the highlighter. I've also tried spraying my brushes with MAC's Fix+ to deepen the pigment and this does help a bit especially with the highlighter, but again I don't think that's a step anyone should have to take when buying higher end pricey makeup, I mean who wants to waste a bottle of Fix+ just to make the most out of this palette, I certainly don't!
Overall my first impressions of the Glow Palette aren't as amazing as I first thought, I remember when I bought the eyeshadow palette and I was completely blown away by it's pigment and quality and that is what I was expecting again with the glow palette but sadly that isn't the case. Theres no denying that when you either use your fingers to apply it or manage to build this trio up with a dense brush on the skin that it looks pretty because it is stunning when it works, its just all a bit of faff and a let down for me if I'm honest, I think it's just my expectations where so high and we've all been waiting for this to launch for such a long time that I expected a lot more. I'm going to continue using this palette for a while longer and I'll be back doing a proper updated review so watch this space.

Did you buy the Too Faced Sweet Peach Glow Palette beaut's? What's you first impressions of it? I'd love to know!

Luxury Face of the Day!

Hey beaut's!

The other day when I was doing my makeup I thought it would be kind of cool to whip out some of my luxury makeup and do my entire face with it all to see if there was much of a difference with wear and lasting power, this was actually super interesting for me as I never ever wear a full face of luxury makeup but I must admit my makeup did stay in place and looked pretty good all day without any patchiness! Anywho onto what I used....

Base
For my base makeup I kicked things off with MAC's Strobe Cream as a primer and MAC's Studio Sculpt Foundation, these two together give such a flawless glowy/dewy look to my skin which I'm all about. The MAC foundation is actually a shade too dark for me (I'm NW15, this foundation is NW20) so I can only really use it in the summer months when I have some colour to my skin, it's a shame I cant use this foundation all year round really because I adore the formula of this foundation. For concealer I used my Estee Lauder Double Wear in Light, this is super heavy duty concealer and covers so well yet it feels so lightweight on the skin, I'd totally recommend this if your looking for a heavy coverage concealer. To warm up my skin I used the Benefit Hoola Bronzer and Benefit Rockateur Blush which are both in my Benefit Real Cheeky Party Tin that I got last crimbo and to highlight of course I used my trusty Mary-Lou Manizer which admittedly I use every single day without fail.

Eyes
For my eyes I used my very battered and bruised Urban Decay Naked Palette, I've had this palette for years, it was the very first luxury makeup item I ever got and I still love it and use it to this day. I'm really into the shade Sidecar at the moment, I've been wearing it all over the lid with some of Buck and Naked blended through the crease. For liner I went for my MAC Precision Liquid Liner to create my flicks and Benefit's Bad Gal Eyeliner on my waterline, and then I finished things off with a couple of coats of the Lancome Grandiose Mascara, which is an amazing mascara by the way!

Brows
For my brows I've been keeping things super simple and just filling in any gaps or real sparse area's with my Benefit Goof Proof brow pencil and then setting everything into place with the Benefit Gimme Brow, brow gel. These two work so well together and the Gimme Brow in particular is such a favourite of mine, its literally the best tinted brow gel I've ever tried and because it contains tiny micro fibres that adhere to skin and brow hairs it  creates natural-looking fullness and definition, so you never get that fake, blocky looking brow.

Lips
Lastly on my lips I went for my MAC Faux Lipstick which I've been obsessed with again recently, it's the perfect muted mauve/pink shade that goes with any makeup look day or night and the satin finish is my favourite.

What are your favourite luxury makeup items to use on a daily basis beaut's? Do you ever do a full face of luxury makeup? I'd love to know!

Barry M Make Me Blush Cream Blusher Review ♥

Hi beaut's!

Has anyone else noticed how Barry M have stepped up their makeup game recently?? Being totally honest I've never really given Barry M's makeup a second look until a few months ago when I bought and fell in love with their little contour palette, I'd always buy their nail polishes religiously but I'd always skip past their makeup but this year they have launched some very pretty things that I just had to buy. The first thing I decided to pick up was their Make Me Blush Cream Blusher in Rhubarb Crumble and I absolutely love it!
Barry M's Make Me Blush Cream Blusher (£4.49) comes in the cutest pink and white plastic packaging that's covered in little love hearts, it's just so girlie and sweet and lures me in every time, it also has a twist up mechanism at the bottom to push up the product meaning theres no need for a sharpener woohoo. As I said before I opted for the shade Rhubarb Crumble which is a pretty, light pink shade which is ideal for creating that everyday rosy glow, their are two other shades in the collection, a peach shade and a dark pink but Rhubarb Crumble was by far my favourite out of the three. The formula of Barry M's Make Me Blush Cream Blusher is gorgeous, it's infused with a fruity vitamin E punch, Jojoba Oil and Shea Butter which makes the blush a dream to work with, it literally glides on giving a beautifully even coverage and blends out an absolute dream with either the warmth of your fingers or with a brush .
The pigmentation of Rhubarb Crumble is very strong but it blends out subtly, you could easily keep applying layers until you get the intensity your looking for but personally I love that subtle look. The finish of Barry M's Make Me Blush Cream Blusher is semi matte but looks extremely dewy on the cheek, it's odd because when I swatch it on the back of my hand it's obvious it has a cream to powder finish but on the cheeks it doesn't look matte at all, just dewy, healthy and glowing.
Overall I absolutely love this little cream blush stick, it's just so quick and easy to use, adds a subtle pop of colour to the cheeks and lasts a good 6 plus hours on me which I think is amazing, it can even be doubled up as a lip balm to add a nice sheer pop of colour.

Have you tried any of the Barry M Make Me Blush Cream Blusher's beaut's?? What ones your favourite?? I'd love to know!!

Guerlain Face, Eyes and Lips Palette Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

It's that time of year when we are all either booking up our Summer holidays or making some sort of travel plans and we all start buying bit and bobs to put aways for our holidays and recently I came across something perfect for travelling in the beauty world, say hello to the Guerlain Les Couleurs de La Petite Robe Noire Face, Eyes, Lips Palette*.
The Guerlain Les Couleurs de La Petite Robe Noire Face, Eyes, Lips Palette (£46.00) comes housed in a small, black, fabric, zip up case which is so cute and really secure for travelling with. When opening up the case you are met with a sizable mirror within the lid and a mini Guerlain face brush that's kept secure by a piece of fabric elastic. The base of the palette is where the makeup party starts he he, firstly theres a large pan of translucent, pressed powder that's perfect for setting all your makeup into place or to touch up any shine on the go, I've also been using the translucent powder for highlighting under my eye area, it seems to work really well since it's quite a light powder. Next theres a small, triangular pan of matte blush which is super pretty for Spring/Summer, I absolutely love it's coral undertones and the fact it isn't crammed full of un-necessary glitter or shimmer is a major plus for me.
Then theres 3 eye shadows to play with all of which have a metallic, shimmer finish, theres a frosty baby pink shade, a silver/grey shade and a frosty dark purple shade. I absolutely love all the shades and think the combination work well together and you could easily create a couple of looks out of them. All the eyeshadows have a good amount of pigmentation, are super buttery when you swatch them however.... They are quite glitzy and I did experience some glittery fall out during application, although this doesn't bother me to much because I can just brush it away with my foundation brush, I know it can rather annoying so that something to take into consideration with this little set. Lastly to complete the palette and your look theres a mini Guerlain lip gloss, the shade of this is lovely, it's one of those 'your lips but better' shades that's so easy to wear and goes with all makeup looks, it is slightly glittery but nothing to over the top and isn't sticky in the slightest like alot of glosses usually are.
Overall I think this Guerlain Face, Eyes and Lips Palette is an absolute hit and is so great for travelling, sometimes I find travel friendly palettes to be hit and miss but everything within this palette I really do like and even though I haven't been travelling I've incorporated it into my everyday routine and have been loving it.

Have you tried the Guerlain Les Couleurs de La Petite Robe Noire Face, Eyes, Lips Palette beaut's?? What did you think, would you take it on your holiday with you?? I'd love to know!!

Makeup Revolution Ultra Blush & Contour Palette in Sugar and Spice ♥

 Hey beaut's!

You may remember that a few weeks ago on the 13th June Makeup Revolution released some gorgeous new makeup, I do have a blog post on some of the new releases that you can have a cheeky look at HERE if you like beaut's. It's fair to say that the new releases have been pretty impressive and are certainly well loved by myself, so today I thought I'd share my full thoughts on the Ultra Blush & Contour Palette in Sugar and Spice*.

Makeup Revolution have released two Ultra Blush & Contour Palettes for us to feast our eyes on, Sugar and Spice (pictured above) which is more of a pinky toned palette and Hot Spice which is alot warmer. Like I said before the Blush & Contour Palette that I have is in Sugar and Spice and comes packaged in sleek black casing with a lovely large mirror inside the pull up lid. The palette itself contains 8 large panned blushes with a mixture of shimmer and matte finishes, there's also a merged baked blusher and a merged baked highlighting powder too. The shade range in the Ultra Blush & Contour Palette is great if your a lover of all things pink as there's such a selection of differant toned pinks to choose from, however the first two shades on the top row do lean more towards warmer, bronze/peachy tones which would be ideal to warm up your complexion all year round. The merged highlighter within the palette is a bright silver-lilac shade which contains very fine flecks of silver shimmer, at first I thought it would be a very un-natural highlighting shade but actually when blended it looks super pretty and gives off a nice sheen. The merged blush has a raspberry tone too it with a metallic finish, I also noticed in certain lights that it contains minute glitters too but these aren't hugely noticeable and wont have you looking like a disco ball ha ha.
I've found that each pan of blush within the palette has great pigmentation so be warned a little goes a very long way with these, they also feel extremely soft to swatch making the blushes a dream to work with and blend out beautifuly. As for lasting power... their great! I've found after a good 6-8 hours I could use a little top up which I think is absolutely fine considering how affordable the palette is, I also love the fact that when the blushes do start to fade they fade evenly and don't go patchy or blotchy at all because I hate that.

Yet again I'm highly impressed by Makeup Revolution, is there anything they cant do he he!
I mean it's such a stunning palette and I honestly havent put it away since I got it. If I had to be picky I would say that the two warmer shades within the palette aren't actually warm enough for me to contour with but that aside if you have a paler complexion those shades would probably work well as contour shades. Overall the palette is an absolute beaut and is also a pretty amazing bargain at just £6.00... Yup you did read that correctly, £6.00 for 8 pans of blush, that's just 75p each, you really cant get any better than that can you.

What do you think of the Blush & Contour Palettes beaut's?? I'd love to know.
