What I Got For Christmas 2018

 Hey beaut's!!!

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and stuffed your faces with all the pigs in blankets and chocolate because I know I did! I'm so sad Christmas is all over for another year though, I absolutely love the build up and the pretty decorations but hey, today I thought I'd keep things slightly festive and join in on the 'What I Got For Christmas' bandwagon, personally I love reading these type of posts and seeing what lovely gifts everyone received. I was so lucky this year and received some lovely gifts from my family, boyfriend and friends and I really am grateful and truly thankful for everything I got! Anyway lets get going...
So lets kick things off with makeup, their wasn't actually much makeup on my Christmas wish list this year which is a first for me, but the one thing I had been longing for was the Huda Beauty New Nude Palette, and seeing as it's a hefty £56.00 I knew it would be something I would never buy myself but my boyfriend Mike treated me to it and I'm so thankful because look how stunning it is! As Mike knows what a makeup addict I am he also got me a Benefit set which was exclusive to Boot's this year, it's has some great full size bit's in it as well as some travel sized goodies so I cant wait to start using them! My Mum and Dad then got me the Too Faced Under The Christmas Tree Set which has a whopping three palettes inside as well as a travel sized Better Than Sex Mascara, my Mum done so well bless her, she stalks my Instagram for ideas apparently LOL!
My Mum and Dad also picked me up the Soap & Glory The Mask Force Five Set, the Christmas Edition Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and a Lush Bath Bomb Gift Set, all of which I absolutely adore so thank you so much Mum and Dad, they also got me some Topshop Joni Jeans but I completely forgot to photograph those, oops!
One thing I couldn't believe my boyfriend Mike got me was the Harry Potter Hogwarts Great Hall Lego set, this is something I've often seen in shops and said to Mike I'd love to build it and he only went and got it for me bless him, I'm actually half way though making it already because isn't Lego addictive....I have a strange feeling Lego building could be my new hobby LOL! Mike also picked me up a bottle of Jimmy Choo Blossom perfume too because he knows it's my go to fragrance for Spring/Summer so I'm now stocked up with a big 100ml bottle!
My bestie Kate knows me so well, she got a Yankee Candle bauble because I'm such a candle addict, a baking cook book because one of my main hobbies is baking and the Maybelline Line and Prime Gift Set which is just me all over, thanks so much girl! And finally Mike picked me up a new hand whizzer, this was actually on my Christmas list as the last hand whizzer I had literally blew up a couple of months a go so I was in desperate need of a new one! He also got me the most precious Beauty and the Beast music box which you wind up yourself and it plays the Beauty and the Beast theme song, I LOVE this so much and haven't stopped winding it up since I got it!
So that's all of my gorgeous gifts I received this year beaut's! I also received some tins of chocolates and biscuits that I think will last me a lifetime ha ha and I received some money too so I think a shopping trip will be in order very soon I'm sure!!!

What did you get for Christmas beaut's?? Leave me your links below as I'd love to see.

Blogger Secret Santa With Jake Shoes!

Hey beaut's!

Back in November I received an exciting email about collaborating with Jake Shoes and taking part in their secret Santa along with a whole host of other bloggers, I jumped at the chance to take part, I mean shoes, bloggers getting together and secret Santa...whats not to love! Funny enough the blogger that got me was none other than my bestie Kate from Kate's Closet, and I got her too, I mean what are the chances of that! Because of the fact I know Kate well it made my choice for her very easy as I know how much she loves her trainers and I'm guessing it was easy for her too as I'm the exact same and live in my trainers!
The Jake Shoes* website is pretty impressive, theres a choice or ladies, mens and kids shoes, theres trainers, boots, heels, sandals, you name it they have it and theres lots of big - well known brands to choose from too such as Ugg, Dr Martins, Timberland, Converse plus many more, your literally spoilt for choice!
The shoes Kate picked out for me where the Old Skool Vans in the khaki colour with that iconic old skool stripe down the side in leopard print and I absolutely love them, so thank you very much Kate, you did goodddd! I literally have no other trainers or shoes in the colourway of these Vans, in fact I've not actually seen these Van's on anyone before so I'd say their a pretty unique style. Just like with all Van's their so versatile and go with pretty much any outfit I throw on, it's why I'm such a Van's lover in general because their so easy to wear in any season!
What do you think of these Van's beaut's? I'd love to know! You can find them on the Jake Shoes website HERE for £45.00.

Feral Cosmetics x Arpi Limited Edition Collection

Hey beaut's!

If you've been reading my blog for a while now you might already know that I'm a huge Feral Cosmetics fan, if you haven't heard of Feral Cosmetics before their a US, cruelty free and vegan lip products brand which are sold here in the UK on the Beauty Chamber website. Beauty Chamber have recently added two new shades as part of their Feral Cosmetics x Arpi limited edition collection, one of which is a complete new formula for Feral and I couldn't wait to try the duo out on my pout!
The two new shades Feral have launched with American model, actress, singer and TV host Arpi Gabrielyan are simply named R.P and R.P2, R.P is a gorgeous peachy nude which is in Feral's AMAZING liquid lipstick formulation, and R.P2 is a clear gloss lip topper which is crammed full of beautiful gold and silver glitter that twinkles beautifully, perfect for a festive pout! I've always raved about the consistency and texture of Feral's liquid lippies as it's so lovely and I'd go as far as saying one of the best formula's I've tried in terms of liquid lipsticks and the shade R.P certainly follows suit! The product feels super thin and lightweight during the application process where as a lot of other liquid lipsticks I've tried are much thicker and heavier. Despite being thin in constancy R.P still packs a pigmented punch and is fully opaque in one quick swipe, you definitely don't need to build up the opacity that's for sure! Once dried down on the lips the formula still feels super lightweight and doesn't really feel that dry at all thank goodness, they do have an ever so slight tacky feeling when I rub my lips together to begin with but I'd much prefer that than dryness. The liquid lipstick also has a touch proof finish too, I literally pressed and rubbed my finger over my lips once the lippie had completely dried down and it never transferred onto my fingers, and the lasting power is phenomenal. Ohhh and did I mention they have a lovely light vanilla scent to them too, it's so yummy!
The lip topper is a complete new formula for Feral and for me too and wow it's stunning, usually I'm not a gloss or lip topper kinda gal because of the fear of my hair being permanently stuck to my lips because of a sticky gloss but we need to praise the Feral makeup loving gods because this lip topper isn't sticky in the slightest, YASSSS!! I just cant stress enough how stunning this lip topper looks over liquid lipsticks and matte lipsticks, it's so pretty and twinkly and despite being such a sparkly gloss it doesn't feel gritty on the lips at all which is a bonus.
Overall I really love this duo and cant recommend the Feral liquid lipsticks and now their new lip topper enough, the quality is just so so good and that's really saying something coming from me because I've always been a bit of a fuss pot when it comes to both liquid lipsticks and lip toppers, I'm always put off with the dry/tightness/cracking of liquid lippies but Feral Cosmetics are just so lightweight and lovely!

You can shop the Feral Cosmetics x Arpi Limited Edition Collection* on the Beauty Chamber website for £14.95 each HERE.

Essence #INSTA Perfect Foundation + Tools Reviewed!

Hey beaut's!

Around a month ago a lovely parcel from Essence dropped on my front door of some samples of their latest foundation launch #INSTA Perfect along with a couple of their beauty tools and I couldn't wait to delve straight in and get trying them all out!
The Essence #INSTA Perfect Foundation* comes in 9 different shades which I have to say is a step up for Essence because usually they do lack a bit on the shade range front when it comes to their foundations. Within the 9 shades there is an ok'ish selection for light, medium and darker skin tones and Essence also encourage you to mix and match this particular foundation if necessary to create your perfect shade, for instance you can use the darker shades to darker up a colour and use the lighter shades to lighten up a colour, just like the colour adjusting drops you can get.
The foundation itself has a strong matte finish, with a light yet buildable coverage that is long lasting and waterproof, yet super lightweight, I literally feel like I'm wearing nothing when I have this foundation on, it's really lovely. After giving this a good test  I have to say the resemblance the #INSTA Perfect Foundation has to MAC's Face and Body Foundation is uncanny, it's just like it apart from Face and Body isn't as matte as Essence's offering. Everything from the packaging to the thin, water like constancy and easy buildable coverage is so similar to Face and Body so if your after a dupe... Essence is where the parties at! I can definitely see this being my foundation of choice for the Spring and Summer months because of how light it is and it's waterproof so it stays well and for £4.50 a bottle you really cant go wrong, what a beauty bargain!
I've also been giving the Essence Super Beauty Sponge* (£3.00) and the
Essence Make Up Buffer Brush* (£3.50) a whirl too. The sponge is available in three colours, orange, pink and blue and has the most innovative shape that can reach and blend everywhere around the face, even in those hard-to-reach areas! I've really been enjoying using the sponge actually, I usually use a Beauty Blender to apply my foundation and this sponge works and blends just as well as my Beauty Blender which is a major bonus! I've also been really impressed by the Buffer Brush, the rose gold, white and grey design is so pretty and the brush itself works so well at buffing in foundation because of its densely packed bristles. Also the quality of the bristles feel super lux, they are soooo soft and gentle on my skin and the brush feels much more expensive than it actually is!
All Essence products are available from Wilko stores or online HERE.

My Photography Tips & Tricks!

Hey beaut's!

Photography is something I've always loved but never truly got into properly until a few years back mainly because of starting my blog. Photography is such an important part of blogging, not only is it something that draws the eye to a blog post first but it really brings your post to life and tells a story! Also Instagram is a photography lovers dream because it the perfect place to share shot's instantly, personally I love sharing all aspects of my life on instgram, theres everything from beauty, food and lifestyle shots with a cheeky selfie thrown into the mix every now and again, so even if I'm not taking pictures for my blog I love taking shots for Instagram and for my personal archives! I feel like recently (without blowing my own trumpet) my photography is improving and this makes me happy, I feel like I'm understanding more about how I want my pictures to look before I take them now and making the best out of what I've got and I'm pretty chuffed with the results at the moment, so I thought I would share what I use to achieve the pictures that I'm super happy with.

Camera - So lets kicks things off with the all important camera, A lot of my Instagram photo's are taken on my iPhone 7plus, yup that right beaut's my iPhone, the pictures are so clear and whats amazing about the newer iPhones is that they now have Portrait mode which if the lighting is right creates the most beautiful blurred background which can trick anyone into thinking you've used a really expensive camera. I do also have two camera's which I use for blogging and day to day personal use. I have a Canon IXUS 155 that I got a few years ago when it was in the Curry's sale for £70.00 and I used to take all my blog photo's on that, it's a great little camera if your starting out and teamed with natural lighting it's creates the perfect crisp pictures. Sometimes with a cheaper camera it's all about playing with the settings, trust me some settings in your camera can really make all the difference, I tried all the settings out in full on mine until I was completely happy, so don't be afraid to press buttons and try new things on your camera because you might come up with something quite genius. This year I did upgrade to a Nikon D3400 and I'm happy I did, don't get me wrong I loved my little Canon camera but the Nikon D3400 is epic and I'm loving it so far, the depth of feild it creates and how well it works on the dullest of days is amazing!

Photography Space - As I'm a blogger most of my photography is taken in my house and consists of flat lay after flat lay, to do this I have a small white table that we already had in our house anyway, you don't need to spend a fortune, you can use your dressing table, dining table, kitchen work top or even the floor. I then get my free wallpaper sample at the ready... yes I did say wall paper sample, this creates the prefect background that you can pop down anywhere in your house. You can even buy tile samples for a couple of pounds if your looking for a marble background, my local DIY store doesn't do this but I know a lot of other shops do so this is another way of getting a 'blogger esk' background for a couple of pounds. I've also found that the pound shop is great for seasonal back rounds, just grabbing a roll of birthday/Christmas wrapping paper can do the trick!

Props - Filling empty spaces or gaps around your flat lays can make such a difference, I generally use things around my house like candles, magazines, flowers, throws and cute notebooks. During autumn I used leaves, pine cones, scarves, fairy lights and cinnamon sticks, and now at Christmas time I use my Christmas decorations and baubles that I have. Other things I like doing are when I'm taking beauty photographs is I might use other makeup products to fill spaces, such as if I'm taking a photo of an eyeshadow palette I might place down a few eyeshadow brushes to fill some space, or if I'm taking a photo of a foundation I could use a foundation brush or two and a beauty blender, these added extras make all the difference and really do complete your photo's.

Get Tips From The Pro's - Sometimes if you want event photography, outfit shots, family photo shoots, need a shoot for something important or generally if you just want a helping hand with your photographs then Bidvine* is the perfect place to look, it’s a fab website where you can advertise the job in hand, professional trusted photographer's who are interested will then get 4 days to get in touch a bid against each other to win the job. I think this is a fab idea because you can do your research on who's interested in working with you by looking at their previous work and reviews, and choose the photographer who is a great match for your requirements and you pick up helpful tips and tricks on the way!

And there you have it beaut's, its really all about working with what you've got and making the best out of it. I really hope this helped some of you out and if you have any tips of tricks that can help me improve further I'd love to know!

The NUXE Christmas Cracker* is a skincare lovers perfect prezzie, it contains four indulgent cleansing and moisturising products that will restore hydration and ensure that their skin feels super soft, the products are also the cutest travel-sized miniatures which just look adorable, theres something about miniatures isn't there.

This Cracker Contains
Nuxe Reve de Miel Hand and Nail Cream 15ml - This hand cream is probably my favourite product within this cracker, it's soooo bloomin' good! The cream itself is infused with precious oils and acacia honey to repair and soothe the skin, and what I love is that its super moisturising without feeling greasy, it's lush!
Nuxe Reve de Miel Comfortable Face Cream 15ml: This is great for soothing dry and sensitive skin because it contains honey, argon oil and shea butter which are all so nourishing, perfect for this time of the year.

Benefit Beauty Baubles!

Hey beaut's!

Beauty baubles are everywhere these days, I remember a few years back the beauty bauble wasn't even a thing but now their are LOADS to choose from and I'm loving the trend! I think beauty baubles work amazingly well as stocking fillers or for secret Santa gifts, their super festive because of their bauble design, reasonably priced and still great little gifts at the same time that most beauty lovers would enjoy.
Benefit have loads of beauty baubles available on the Escentual website this year, theres everything from brow products, blushes, bronzer and even mascaras and primers - all of which are Benefit's best sellers and all come in adorable miniature sizes perfect for your travel makeup bag or they make ideal 'tester' sizes!
I have the Roller Lash Bauble* (£10.50) and the POREfessional Primer Bauble* (£10.50.), both of which come in little trinket style plastic boxes with ribbon attached at the top so you can actually hang them on your Christmas tree if you'd like too. The Roller Lash Mascara is an absolute holy grail of mine because it makes my lashes look absolutely incredible, you can ditch your eyelash curlers now girls as this mascara is all about achieving that all-important eye opening curl, the wand literally grabs, separates, lifts and curls every lash leaving me with a wide eyed fluttery effect, I'm obsessed! Benefit's POREfessional Primer is another absolute cult classic that so many of us love, this stuff has a translucent, silky formula that will diffuse the appearance of excess oil and fill in any visible pores in an instant, keeping skin beautifully matte and shine-free, great for the oily guys and gals out there and perfect for the summer months.
If your looking for a small gift for a makeup and beauty lover this Christmas then I really cant recommend these little baubles enough, not only are they adorable but the quality is amazing too and their an affordable gift too, whats not to love!

You can find the Benefit Baubles from £10.50 HERE.

Festive Reds Christmas Gift Guide 2018

Hey beaut's!

I cant believe Christmas is just a mere nineteen days away, it's going so quick isn't it, anyway I thought I would do another cheeky Christmas gift guide today and carry on my 'Festive Reds' tradition that I've done for the past couple of years. I've gone for a mixture of smaller cheap Christmas gift ideas which you could pop in for stocking fillers or secret Santa gifts, and then some bigger bits for under the tree ranging from affordable to a couple of more luxury prices.

So lets kick things off with more affordable options starting off with a good old pair of cosy socks, these are the ultimate stocking filler which everyone loves and can get some use out of! I also love how massive the beauty bauble and beauty crackers trend has got, personally I think both work amazingly well as stocking fillers or for secret Santa gifts, their all super festive because of their cracker or bauble design, reasonably priced and still great little gifts at the same time that most beauty lovers would enjoy. I also love how you can now get full boxes of beauty crackers too, I think these are great if your hosting a Christmas meal with your best friends just before Christmas, they just make such a nice change to normal crackers don't they.

Then theres pj's, these are perfect Christmas gifts for Mums or anyone really for that matter, you literally cant go wrong with a cosy set of pj's can you, I also love that most pj's, onsies and dressing gowns are reasonably priced but when their wrapped up they look huge under the tree ha ha! If your after something a little bit bigger and maybe your wanting to spend a bit more then perfume gift sets are great, as well as the epic makeup gift sets you can buy these days! Candles are another great gift for Christmas, theres hundreds of brands and scents too choose from and I think they can work as quite a unisex gift! If you have a tea or coffee lover that you need to buy for then a nice mug is definitely going to go down a treat, I love all the festive ones that are out at this time of the year!

If your looking for some other ideas that I haven't mentioned yet you could always go for some personalised Christmas gifts, I think these are really special because it shows the person your buying the gift for that you went that extra mile for them. You can literally get everything personalised nowadays, theres everything from clothing, food, cups, candles, jewellery even chocolate spread jars, the list is endless! And finally hampers are an incredible gift to get whole family's for Christmas, it really takes the stress out of figuring out what to get each person because they can literally share what ever is in the hamper between them, you can even make up your own hampers if you'd rather add that personal touch too!

Have you finished your Christmas shopping yet beaut's or do you still have lots to get? I'd love to know!

Popcorn Shed Review!

Hey beaut's!

I bloody love popcorn, a trip to the cinema just wouldn't be the same without a bag or two of popcorn to nibble on or even a movie night at home for that matter...the moral of the story here is that I'm a bit of a popcorn addict, sweet or salty I'm down! However...I've never really delved into the depths of flavoured  popcorn, and Popcorn Shed have tonnes of flavours to choose from, it literally blew my popcorn loving mind!
Popcorn Shed* is the UK's first super-premium gourmet popcorn brand, they incorporate texture into their popcorn through chunks of nuts, chocolate and dried fruit, not to mention the popcorn is tumbled in fresh caramel before being scattered with all of the delious treats, wow is your moth watering yet as I know mine is! Popcorn Shed have 7 sweet or savoury flavours of popcorn to choose from so theres certainly a flavour to suit everyone and they all come in a variety of sizes too, theres handy 'on the go' sized bags, larger boxed up packs for £3.50 which are perfect for the popcorn junkies out there and they even have some of their flavours in massive glass jars which are £15.00 which would work well if your looking to gift someone some popcorn for Christmas or birthdays!
The flavours I tried are....
Pop 'N' Choc - a double whammy of chocolate accompanied by a smooth cocoa-infused caramel base.

Salted Caramel - the perfect combination of intense sea-salted caramel popcorn topped with velvety, creamy Belgian milk chocolate.

Pecan Pie - nutty, buttery, smooth caramel popcorn with added pecans give it a textural sensation and nutty crunch.

Berry-licious - a magical mixture of fruity tart raspberry and indulgent smooth rich dark chocolate.

Butterly Nuts - This one has a rich creamy peanut butter Caramel base and is topped with real peanut halves for an irresistible crunch.

Sweet Cheesus - A premium take on the classic ‘Sweet and Salty’ combo! Indulgent real cheddar cheese and sweet, buttery caramel Gourmet Popcorn.

Say Cheese - Deliciously rich, ripe and creamy mature cheddar popcorn. This sharp cheesy flavour is ridiculously addictive and tangy.
My favourite flavours are definitely the sweeter ones which I knew they would be as I have such a sweet tooth, the Pop 'N' Choc and Salted Caramel flavours are literally next level gorgeousness, Pecan Pie was so delicious too!

You can find Popcorn Shed in Superdrug, Co-op and Amazon but you can also buy from their website HERE.
