May Beauty Favourites!

Hey beaut's!

Well that's another month done and dusted! It's pure craziness that we are basically half way through the year already, shocking!!! This month has been pretty good, theres been some lush weather which has meant I've been able to get out in the garden and plant lots of flowers in my pots, I've also added some solar lights which I'm completed obsessed with, their so addictive though, I just want to keep buying more! I've finally started Riverdale on Neflix and I love it, I've got one episode of season one left and I'm hooked!
Anyway lets get onto the good stuff....my May Beauty Favourites! Starting with the ole pout and Zoella's new Watermelon Lip Oil, not only does this stuff smell absolutely mouth watering but it's perfect to use on days when my lips need a little TLC, the oil contains a conditioning blend of sweet almond, jojoba and argon oils which nourish and hydrate my lips really well and leaves me with a gorgeous glossy finish that isn't sticky at all, it's been my go to recently! Another conditioning lip product I've been loving is the PIXI Shea Butter Lip Balm in Natural Rose, this is a tinted lip balm on steroids I tell ya, it's incredible! Not only is this a super light weight, conditioning balm but the colour pay off is incredible, it almost looks and feels like I'm wearing a satin finish lipstick, I'm definitely going to add a few more of these balms to my collection now!
The Morgan Taylor Rocketman nail polishes have been the only polishes I've used recently, the formula of these polishes is literally incredible and I've been loving the pink shade with the glitter topcoat, I also went to see Rocketman in the cinema last weekend and it was very good, I'd highly recommend!
It's that time of the year again where I go through bottle's of Soap & Glory's Heel Genius, you just cant beat this stuff can you, it's literally the best foot cream I've ever come across and makes my feet totally sandal ready! It's so nourishing and instantly makes me feet look and feel moisturised, it also has a fruity fragrance with a hint of mint which is so refreshing for your tootsies.
Finally I've switched things up my makeup bag and dug my Milani Luminoso blush back out, I honestly forgot how stunning this looks on the cheeks, it's a pretty peach toned pink shade with a gorgeous luminous sheen that looks perfect for the Summer months, it's so healthy looking and dewy too without being glittery or sparkly in the slightest, I love it!

What have you been loving this month beaut's? I'd love to know!

The Eve Appeal 'Get Lippy' Campain!

Hey beaut's!

The Eve Appeal have launched their Get Lippy campaign again all throughout May, if you haven't heard of the Eve Appeal before they are the UK's leading gynae cancer charity, and their #GetLippy campaign is all about talking openly about gynaecological health, smashing taboos, asking difficult questions and raising money for a good cause. New research shows that women are potentially putting their lives at risk because they don't have the right language to talk about their bodies with doctors, and this really needs to change. The Eve Appeal has launched a national campaign to provide women with the right information and confidence to talk clearly about anatomy and symptoms in order to better diagnose key health concerns, including the five gynaecological cancers - womb, ovarian, cervical, vulval and vaginal.

The #GetLippy campaign has actually collaborated with loads of amazing beauty brands who have committed to donate a percentage of sales to fund vital gynaecological cancer research and prevention. The brands involved include Elemis, Iconic London, Hourglass, Smashbox, Lypsyl, PIXI, Eos and theres a special Get Lippy Vaseline tin among loads of others. It's such an easy way for us beauty loving guys and girls to get involved and to donate, all we have to do is treat ourselves to a product from the participating brands and there you have it - a donation has been made! Theres lots of other ways you can get involved and donate as well, you can text EVE APPEAL to 70577 to donate £5.00, you can share/get lippy on Twitter and Instagram to raise some awareness, set up a WhatsApp chat about the subject, c'mon girls lets GET LIPPY!

Have you taken part in #GetLippy ? Have you donated or bought anything from the participating brands? I'd love to know!

Morgan Taylor's Rocketman Collection Reviewed!

Hey beaut's!

I'm a HUGE fan of Morgan Taylor nail polishes, the formula is honestly the best I've tried and they always bring out such amazing collections and collaborations! This time around Morgan Taylor have launched the Rocketman collection for Summer which is inspired by the amazing Elton John and his magical music and meteoric rise to fame.
The Rocketman collection consists of seven iconic shades including everything from ultra-bright pinks to rich purples and teals, and theres also a gorgeous luxe glitter shade which gives every other shade within this collection it's own time to shine and sparkle. I absolutely love how vibrant the shades are within this collection, their so perfect for the summer months ahead and literally go hand in hand with the release of the Rocketman film!
Here's the shade rundown.....
* Just Me & My Piano - A bight violet purple with a matte finish.
* Sir Teal To You - A vibrant teal shade with a gorgeous sheen running through it.
* Put On Your Dancin' Shoes - A gorgeous true red shade with a glossy finish.
* It's The Shades - A bright, hot pink which dries down to a semi-matte finish.
* Tickle My Keys - A bright, bubblegum pink shade a semi-matte finish.
* Glow Like A Star - The best yellow shade I've ever used, it's so opaque and doesn't streak at all not like other yellow's I've tried, it also has a glossy finish.
* Bedazzle Me - A clear base which is jam packed with rainbow coloured micro glitters and hexagon holographic glitters.
Like always, the formula of the Morgan Taylor nail polishes within this collection are absolutely amazing, there all completely opaque after 2 thin coats and apply evenly and smooth without any bubbling or streaking and they don't take too long to dry either which is such a bonus because I hate waiting for nail polish to dry, well...don't we all. The lasting power is really good, I got a good 4ish days wear out of mine before I noticed some chipping and wear and tear, I'm quite heavy handed at work and at home doing washing up and housework all the time so a solid 4 days is good for me!
Overall if your looking to brighten up your manicure this Summer I think the new Rocketman collection is a must try, I've also found in the past that bright shades don't usually apply or wear well but these are amazing! And that yellow shade is up there with the best I've tried as usually yellow is so streaky and really needs building up but Morgan Taylor's offering doesn't, I'm so impressed!

You can find the Morgan Taylor Rocketman Nail Polish Collection on Sally Beauty for £10.99 each.

May Beauty Wishlist!

Hey beaut's!

It's been a while since I done a beauty wishlist and seeing as theres so much on my wishlist right now I thought it was about time I jumped back onto the wishlist train! Firstly how STUNNING is the new Charlotte Tilbury Glowgasm Palette in Lightgasm, yes this palette might be £60.00 which is definitely a lot of dosh but it's limited edition and screaming at me to buy it. Sticking with palettes, Youtuber Rachel Leary has just collaborated with Revolution and created two palettes one of which is right up my street - Goddess On The Go - those warm tones though, I need it in my makeup loving life! I really want to get a couple of bit's from the new MAC Aladdin collection as again these are limited edition, the lipstick in the shade Rajah looks gorgeous and there's also an eyeshadow palette in the collection which I'm lusting after too. Can we all just a take a minute to look at how pretty those makeup brushes are by Wet & Wild, it's their Eye Perfection Brush set, I'm such a sucker for eyeshadow brushes so these are firmly on my wishlist right now!

Whats on your beauty wishlist at the moment beaut's?

My Thoughts On The Maybelline 24 Hour Superstay Foundation!

Hey beaut's!

After hearing so many positive things about the Maybelline 24 Hour Superstay Foundation I thought it was about time I gave it a whirl, I must admit for some reason I never buy Maybelline foundations so I really had no idea what to expect but the fact it was on a 2 for £12.00 deal gave me the extra insentive to finally try it!
The foundation itself has 17 shades to choose from - well on the Superdrug website theres 17 shades to shop I'm not 100% sure on how many shades are available in store - I opted for the shade 03 True Ivory which is one of the lightest shades from the range, it does match me ok but could do with being slightly more pink for my undertone, I actually found it quite hard to match myself up if I'm honest but hey what else is new, I really want these brands to up their game now with foundation shades as most of them are pretty ridiculous aren't they!
The foundation claims to have a soft matte finish, has full coverage that will transform your skin, is suitable for all skin types and has 24 hour wear...now that's some pretty bold claims and claims that I like the sound of, so out came my beauty blender and I whacked it on my face. Now I've been using this foundation around 3 weeks now I do like it but there is one thing I so dislike which I'll get onto shorty. Firstly lets talk about the coverage...Theres no denying this foundation covers well and it defiantly makes my skin look pretty incredible even if I do say so myself, and for a full coverage foundation it's so lightweight and thin feeling on the skin which is a major bonus for me as I hate the feeling of a thick or heavy foundation but this is surprisingly light. The foundation does have a really nice semi-matte finish which is perfect for me and my combination skin and I never find that it clings or exposes any dry patches on my face which is another bonus, and the lasting power is very good too, my skin generally looks the same at the end of the day from when I put my makeup on in the morning and my other base makeup seems to sit so well on top of it, my T-zone is generally a bit oily at the end of the day but that happens with most of my foundations!
The only negative I really have about the formula of this foundation is that it does really oxidise on my skin during the day, it gets a shade or two darker as the day goes on which is so annoying, it's quite strange really as I never have problems with foundations oxidising but hey I guess theres a first for everything. Apart from that I do really like everything about this fundation, the formula is nice and blends well with a beauty blender or makeup brush, the coverage is amazing, it lasts really well, I do think most skin types would get on with the formula unless you where super dry. I like the packagaing too, it comes in a glass bottle with a pump which is another added bonus! The price is ok, it's £9.99 but if you can get it on the 2 for £12.00 deal it makes it such a bargain at just £6.00 a bottle!

Have you tried this foundation before beaut's? What did you think? I'd love to know!

Blueberry Crumble Muffins Recipe

 Hey beaut's!

We are now well into Spring, and Summer is creeping ever closer so I wanted to start incorporating more fruit into my bakes and cakes and the good ole blueberry seemed a good place to start. I do love a blueberry muffin but I decided to pimp the recipe up a bit and add a crumble topping, I've seen blueberry cakes like this before but never a muffin but I tell ya what....they're bloody delicious even if I do say so myself. The crumble topping gives them that extra crunch and makes them so versatile as not only can you have them for breakfast or as a snack but they make a great dessert too and can be served with custard or cream if you like!
What You Will Need For The Muffins
175g caster sugar
4 tbs vegetable oil
1 egg
120ml milk
225g plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
150g blueberries or as many as you desire.

What You Will Need For The Crumble Topping
50g melted butter
100g demerera sugar
50g plain flour
1 round tsp cinnamon

How To
1. Preheat your oven to gas mark 4 or 350°F (177°C) and line a muffin tin with paper cases.
2. Before we get onto the muffin batter you need to make that crumble topping which is mega easy, just melt your butter then whack in the flour, demerera sugar and cinnamon and mix well and then set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, whack in your caster sugar, vegetable oil and the egg and mix with a hand whizzer until it's gone pale and smooth, then add in the milk and mix again to combine.
4. Once all of your wet ingredients are combined add in the flour and baking powder and mix again, then your going to want to add in your blueberry's and mix gently, I actually swap for my silicone spatula at this point and fold in the blueberry's as you don't want them to mush up or burst whilst mixing!
5. Pop a heaped tablespoon of the muffin batter (which is quite sticky in constancy) into each paper case then sprinkle the crumble topping over the top, you can add as little or as much of the crumble topping as you like, then bake in the oven for around 14-18 minutes, then transfer onto a wire rack to cool.

And that's it, these are so quick and easy to bake and honestly they taste soooo good, that crumble topping as well adds such a nice crunch to the top of the muffin but don't worry it doesn't make the top of muffin rock hard and the muffin itself is really light and fluffy! You have to give these a go if your a fan of the blueberry muffin beaut's!

Get Your Feet Spring/Summer Ready With Footner!

Hey beaut's!

We are in the final month of Spring which hopefully means warm and sunny days are on the way, well I'm keeping my fingers and toes firmly crossed anyway as it's currently raining cats and dogs out there as I type this, anyway moving on......It seems the perfect time to get pampering those tootsies and get them looking their best ready for the pretty sandals to come back out, oh how I'm longing for the days I can whack on some flip flips without even thinking and walk out the door, c'mon sun!
I think the two main things for me when it comes to getting my feet ready for sandals is having pretty painted toe nails and of course getting rid of any dry, hard skin from around my feet! Let face it, that hard, dry skin is gross and my god it's a b***h to properly get rid of so that's why I tried the Footner Exfoliating Socks*. Now theres no denying the whole process of using these exfoliating socks is pretty gross as the main purpose of the socks is to saturate and infuse your feet in the exfoliating formula which contains AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) which then kick starts the peeling process....yes I did say peeling process...and removes the dead skin off your feet revealing baby soft skin!

All you have to do to use the exfoliating socks is pop them on your clean, freshly washed feet and secure with the adhesive strap to close the top of the socks and sit back and relax with them on for an hour, I suggest whacking on a Netflix episode as it makes the time go quick! Whilst the socks are on they do have a slight cooling/tingling sensation which is completely normal and it doesn't hurt at all! The results when you remove the socks aren't instant so don't be alarmed if nothing has happened, it will take a week or so before the dead skin is peeling away, in fact on some people it can up to 14 days for the whole process to be complete! As tempting as it is DO NOT try and peel off any of the dead skin that might be loose on your feet during the peeling time, you risk peeling deeper layers of skin off resulting in sore patches which you definitely don't want to do! Although to try and help the peeling process a good foot rub after a warm shower really does help!
The results really are fantastic, after the peeling is over your feet really are silky smooth and sooo soft, the whole process for me was actually quite mind blowing as I've never used anything like it in my life and although it was a grim process and my feet looked pretty awful for a few days the results are so worth it! Afterwards I finished off the whole process with a quick coat of the Nailner Breathable Nail Polish in the shade Rosy Red* (£9.99) which looks gorgeous on the toes, it's a proper post box red shade and is great on damaged, discoloured nails in particular because it covers and lasts really well!

You can find the Footner Exfoliating Socks for £19.99 at Superdrug and the Nailner Breathable Nail Polish for £9.99 in Boots!

Barry M's NEW Dual Ended Brow Wand Reviewed!

Hey beaut's!

I absolutely love doing my brows these days, I used to hate doing them but now I find it so satisfying getting them perfect and on point, no makeup look is complete without a pair of gorgeous brows after all is it. Recently when I was browsing in Superdrug I saw that Barry M had launched a new brow product called the 'Dual Ended Brow Wand' so I immediately popped it into my basket to try!
The Barry M Dual Ended Brow Wand is available in three standard shades - light, medium and dark, personally for me the three shades just isn't enough, I think Barry M really need to up their game with their shade ranges because their makeup has got so good but the shade range is an epic fail, anyway...I opted for the shade light, I have quite light, cool toned ashy brows so light was the best option for me at the time, however I do find it a little bit on the warm side for me but with the brow gel I can just about get away with it!
Now I love a multi-purpose product so that fact this is dual ended is perfect for me, at one end you get your brow pencil to shape and define your brows and then at the other end you have the tinted brow gel to blend and tame stray brow hairs keeping them set in place all day! The brow pencil itself has a teardrop shaped tip making the application process super easy because it's always on a slanted angle, so I use the pencil on it's side with broad strokes to fill in my brows and use the pointed tip of the teardrop to add in individual brow hairs or for precise shaping if needed. The formula and texture of the pencil is lovely, it's well pigmented, waxy but not dry or too creamy and blends easily with a spoolie before it sets, I do find the shade of the pencil lighter and warmer than the brow gel but like I said before it all matches once the gel has been slicked through my brows.
The tinted brow gel I love, in fact I'd say I like it more than the pencil but I've always been a sucker for a good brow gel! The little brush really does coat and grab every brow hair and I can even get away with just using the gel if I'm in a rush or want a slightly more natural look. You can also achieve really fluffy brows as well if that's your thang!!! The formula of the gel is really lovely, it's well pigmented, has great hold without being crispy and it's long lasting! If your looking for something new to try from the high street for your brows I do think this is a good product to try - especially the gel, the only downside is the shade range as their definitely isn't a shade to suit all brows that's for sure!
Have you tried this yet beaut's? What did you think? I'd love to know!

Barry M Dual Ended Brow Wand can be found in Superdrug and Boots for £5.99.
