Superdrug Naturally Radiant Skincare! Is It Good Or Bad?

Hey beaut's!

For a while now I've been trying to completely use up my skincare stash before repurchasing more, well the time came that I needed a few new products and instead of buying my usual favourites which are a little on the pricey side I looked into finding some cheaper alternatives and that's when I came across the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range!
Firstly I needed a new cleanser as my trusty Liz Earle had run out, usually I just buy myself another when I run out but this time I really didn't want to drop another £17.00 if I didn't have too! Now when I look for a cleanser I generally find the hot cloth cleansers work the best for me and really give a deep cleanse so I was pretty chuffed that Superdrug actually had a Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser in the Naturally Radiant range, and it was just £2.89! I would go as far as saying that this cleanser is a super dupe for Liz Earle's Cleanse and Polish, even the ingredients are pretty much the same which is pretty mind blowing and you get a muslin cloth with Superdrugs offering with no additional charge unlike Liz Earle! The Brightening Hot Cloth Cleanser works just the same as the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish, you simply massage the luxuriously thick cleanser all over the skin then take the damp - warm muslin cloth and gentle buff aways the days makeup and grime and voila....my skin looks and feels squeaky clean and soft!
Next I was looking for a new day cream so naturally I decided I may as well just grab one from the same range, I opted for the Naturally Radiant Brightening Day Cream for Normal to Combination Skin. The cream itself is super thick and feels a lot more expensive than it was...it was just £2.89 by the way! A little goes a long way with this day cream and as soon as I started rubbing it into my skin it felt soft and nourished and left a subtle which made the perfect makeup base! As far as day creams go I really like this one, the dewy glow really does give your skin that brightened effect and my skin always feels nourished and soft all day without feeling like an oil slick, and it contains SPF15 which is always a bonus!
Finally I thought 'sod it' and picked up the Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream as well, it had been a while since I'd actually used an eye cream so I could really see a positive improvement around my eye area after using this little beauty! Just like the day cream the smallest amount of the eye cream goes a long way, it feels thicker than most other eye creams I've tried, usually their quite runny but this one definitely has a more gel like feeling to it! It doesn't have a cooling sensation when you apply it but it really does smooth out my under eye area and makes my eyes appear more awake that's for sure! If you find your eye area gets dry through the day from your concealer I cant recommend this enough because it's super nourishing!

Overall I'm really chuffed that I decided to buy these bit's to try and the brightening hot cloth cleanser is certainly going to save me a lot of money going forward, if you like the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish I really recommend Superdrugs offering enough as it's practically the same, and I've not experienced any break outs since using this range either! The entire Naturally Radiant range is also suitable for vegetarians, vegans and its cruelty free which is obviously fab and it's all super affordable too, whats not to love!!

Yes to Grapefruit Unicorn Skincare Range

Hey beaut's!

The unicorn craze is pretty mega right now and I for one am loving it! The bright colours, the shimmer, the glitter, arhhh it's all so pretty, and skincare brand Yes to have got on board the magical unicorn train and released a couple of skincare products that are sure to put the magic back into your skincare regime, leaving us with flawless skin with a natural radiance; and revealing bright, glowing skin!
Now I absolutely LOVE a peel off face mask so I was so happy to see that Yes to had a Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow Boosting Peel Off Mask* (£4.00)  in their unicorn range. The mask is said to brighten and even skin tone whilst the addition of Vitamin C smooths the skin and enhances natural luminosity, now that sounds like my kind of mask he he! The formula of the mask itself  is quite thick as you'd expect a peel off mask too be and has an almost melted marshmallow-y consistency and wait for the best part....it's iridescent-pink so you literally look like a shimmering unicorn until it's dry. To apply the mask you literally just paint it on with an old makeup brush or mask brush around your face avoiding the eye area and after 10 minutes it's completely set and ready to be peeled off which is the most satisfying thing to do ever, I love it! Afterwards my skin looked so even with my redness reduced and my skin was so, so soft and luminous, it's the perfect mask to use before makeup application too, I love it and will definitely be stocking up on these magical beauties!

Another gorgeous skincare product Yes to have in their unicorn range is the Grapefruit Vitamin C Glow Boosting Unicorn Transforming Clay Cleanser* (£8.00), this stuff gently removes makeup and the days impurities and leaves my skin not only squeaky clean but looking brighter, smoother and feeling super refreshed. The formula of the clay cleanser is so fun to use because it has a unicorn twist, it goes on pink and turns yellow when your skins clean enough and when it's ready to be fully rinsed off, how amazing is that! You literally just whack it onto damp skin, work it in-in circular motions and wait for the magic to happen, it also smells incredibly fresh just like grapefruit, is 95% natural and has a slight cooling feeling when you use it so it's super refreshing especially in the mornings!

If your a fan of skincare and all things magical and unicorn themed then your going to love these products, I'd also totally recommend them if you suffering with dull and uneven skin because they really do give your skin a pick me up!

You can find the Yes to Grapefruit Unicorn Skincare Range on Beauty Bay HERE.

Embryolisse Lait Crème Moussant Foaming Cream-Milk Cleanser Review

Hey beaut's!

I recently ran out of my trusty and well loved Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish and instead of running out and repurchasing that for the millionth time, I thought I'd try something new that had been sat in my draw for a while waiting for it's time to shine - the Embryolisse Lait Crème Moussant Foaming Cream-Milk Cleanser.

The Embryolisse Foaming Cream-Milk* is a soap-free cleanser based on super fatty agents (10%), sweet almond oil and shea butter, it's suitable for all skin types even the most sensitive, and versatile enough to be used on the face and the body too. To use the cleanser all you have to do I'm simple massage it over a damp skin and let it do it's thing, it's great at deeply cleaning the skin and removing makeup however I wouldn't recommend it for removing eye makeup, I got a slight shock when I slathered it over my eyes and it stung instantly so now I use a micellar water first around my eyes.
The Embryolisse Foaming Cream-Milk is quite different to anything I've used to cleanse with before, I've literally never found a cleanser with such a gorgeous texture before, it feels so rich, creamy, slightly whipped and nourishing when it first goes on, its gorgeous and just glides over the skin with ease and has the most amazing light yet fresh scent to it. I was also super impressed by the fact that it didn't leave my skin feeling dry afterwards which many cleansers I've tried do, instead my skin felt squeaky clean, nourished, supple and SUPER soft! The only thing I did notice was the lack of foam, this is named and foaming cream-milk cleanser and I have to say it doesn't really lather up that much, it's not a major for me but definitely something to bare in mind if you are actually looking for a foaming cleanser!
Overall I'm really enjoying using the Lait Crème Moussant Foaming Cream-Milk, it's definitely super nourishing and gentle which my dry sensitive skin loves, and I find it so quick and easy to use too. It cleanses my skin with ease and I've experienced no clogged pores or break outs, it doesn't strip my skin of its essential oils and leaves my face so soft and clean, I love it!

You can find the Embryolisse Lait Crème Moussant Foaming Cream-Milk Cleanser for £14.00 from Boots HERE.

Makeup Revolution Solid Brush Cleaner Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

Cleaning my makeup brushes is one thing that really annoys me, don't get me wrong I love it when my makeup brushes are all clean and pretty looking, but it's actually the cleaning process that annoys me, so anything that I can find to make that process quicker is a winner in my opinion and when Makeup Revolution recently released their new travel friendly Solid Brush Cleaner I just knew I had to give it whirl!

The Makeup Revolution Solid Brush Cleaner* (£5.00) is a portable brush cleaner that provides effortless, no mess on the go brush cleansing. The formula is a white, hard balm that will instantly sanitise, cleanse and condition your makeup brushes and as the balm is compact into it's packaging it's mess free, you don't have remove anything, you just open the lid and use the balm inside the pot woohoo.

In order to use the balm and get squeaky clean makeup brushes in seconds, yes I mean seconds all you have to is wet your dirty brush and gently place it into the solid brush cleanser giving it a swirl around until it starts to foam, this will then remove the dirty residue before your eyes super quickly, then rinse your brush under the tap and lay flat to dry. Once you've finished cleaning your brushes you will notice that the top of the balm will be slightly grubby and will probably have some makeup residue left on it, so all you have to do is just run the balm under cool water and pat dry with kitchen towel and the the balm will look like new again.
I've honesty never used or come across a brush cleaner that is so quick and easy to use which is also portable, it's brilliant and would work so well for anyone who switches up their eyeshadow looks regularly but only has a few eye makeup brushes in their collection or if your going away on holiday an only want to take a couple of brushes with you, this balm is the easiest way to get your brushes clean when you switch between shades! I've also tested this out with my beauty blender and it worked really well with that too, I basically used the same cleaning process as I do with a makeup brush and it was like new again!

Have your tried the Makeup Revolution Solid Brush Cleaner yet beaut's? What did yo think? I'd love to know!

Resultime by Collin Paris 'Skincare' Review

Hey girlie's

I was recently asked if I'd like to try some little samples from a skincare brand called Resultime*. Resultime by Collin Paris is one of the best kept beauty secrets, it's a results-driven, sophisticated skincare brand, offering a complete salon treatment range and home care line that has a solution for every skin concern and specialises in Anti-Ageing.

The one thing that really impresses me with this brand is that no matter what your skin type, age or skin problem, Resultime has the products to suit your skin's needs. Their website is so easy to follow and helpful, all you do is find your skin type or concern and it will bring up every product they have to offer, to help you with your problem, how great is that!!!
I suffer with very sensitive skin that can be dry in some places so the samples that I have been trying are specifically catered to my skin type...

Hydro Cleansing Cream* 5ml Sample

I love this creamy cleansing wash, it's great for removing make-up and is an ideal 'in the shower' product that can be used around your eyes and leaves your skin clean and super soft. Its formula combines Collagen, Elastin and Hyaluronic Acid to maintain the youthfulness of the skin and leave it perfectly comfortable, supple and luminous. It is suitable for all skin types, and is ideal for dry skin. The full size bottle of the Cleansing Cream is £19.50 for 150ml.

Sensitive Skin Intensive Serum* 5ml Sample
This intensive serum is great for anyone who suffers with the redness that sensitive skin can sometimes bring, it really does comfort and calm the skin. It's designed to show improvements when you've used the serum for up to 4 four weeks, as I have the sample size I cant say whether this serum does dramatically help my skin although I have noticed after I've used the serum my skin definitely felt really soothed and not so sore. The full size bottle of the Intensive Serum is £42.50 for 30ml.

Soothing Calming Cream* 5ml Sample
Like the Serum this Calming Cream really helps to sooth sensitive, irritated, blotchy, red, itchy skin, and can even be used to calm rashes and after sun exposure, so in a nutshell this is a great little multipurpose product. I like to apply this in the evening all over my face and down my neck and it really does make my skin feel calm and soothed which is so nice before you hop into bed, and it really keeps redness at bay to. The full size pot of the Calming Cream is £38.50 for 50ml.

Overall, from what I've tried so far I do really like the Resultime Skincare brand and would certainly treat myself to some of their skincare products in the future, they feel and look so luxurious and I've already been eyeing up their Micellar Water and Cleansing Cream he he. I would definitely recommend Resultime if you struggle to get the correct skincare products for your skin type or skin concerns.

Have you tried any skincare products from Resultime before??? I'd love to know beaut's.

Birchbox January 2014

Hey girlie's!!!

It's that time again... Birchbox time!!! It's the first Birchbox of the New Year so I couldn't wait to receive it. This months theme is all about 'Tiny Tweaks' where by they suggest breaking down our resolutions into bite-size pieces, and focus on some small daily changes starting with our beauty routine.

So lets see the little treasures I received inside my January Birchbox...

Philip Kingsley Moisture Balancing Conditioner 20ml
I must admit I do love receiving haircare products in beauty boxes and this Philip Kingsley Conditioner claims to deliver moisture without weighing down your hair, leaving it shiny, smooth, strong and tangle-free, sounds pretty good right? The full size Conditioner retails for £18.00.

Benefit The POREfessional 7.5ml
I have to admit this is the only product that has really saved the box for me this month. I've been waiting to try the Benefit POREfessional award-winning primer for ages but I didn't want to splurge in case it wasnt for and be stuck with the full size. The primer claims to magically erase pores and leave your skin velvety. If it does what it says on the tin and I like it I will defiantly be buying the full size, which retails for £24.50.

Rodial Glamtox Night 15ml
I must admit I've never heard of this brand before but I'm going to give it a whirl. It basically has a super-hydrating formula that you use before bed that soothes your complexion and plumps up fine lines. The full size retails for a whopping £75.00 so I'm expecting good things from this little sample.

Vasanti Detox Nutrient-Rich Purifying Facial Cleanser 20ml
I'm really into cleanser's so I'm sure I'll use this little sample up quickly. It claims to wash away toxins, not to mention every last trace of your foundation and will help brighten and refresh your skin. The full size retails for £18.00

Premae Anatomy Nutrients Instant Renewal Body Oil 20ml
I probably wont get any use out of this body oil as I'm really not a fan of body oils, if it would have been a hair oil, things would of been different ha ha. The oil claims to moisturise, tone and detoxify your skin with its natural, allergy tested formula. The full size retails for £9.50.

Lifestyle Extra - Itsu Miso Soup 25g Sachet
This month I had just the 1 lifestyle extra in the form of a soup, the soup is full of antioxidants and amino acids and only contains 42 calories, perfect for anyone on a new year health kick. 3 sachets of this soup will set you back £2.25.

Overall I think this is another average box from Birchbox, there was no full size products which is disappointing and the samples haven't really blown me away either to be honest, I also noticed that this month there was no draw string bag??? They have replaced it with a piece of pink tissue paper which I thought was crappy if I'm honest. I'm seriously considering switching back to Glossybox again as the reviews Ive read since un-subscribing last October have all been pretty positive again. Hhmmm could this be my last Birchbox???

What did you think to this months Birchbox beaut's??? I'd love to know!!!

2013 Skincare Favourites ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

So we may have waved goodbye to 2013 but we can still appreciate a few products we've loved throughout last year cant we? So today I thought I'd do a little round up of a few skincare products that have become either favourites of mine or staple products that I repurchase over and over and cant live without otherwise my skin would be really dull and probably majorly dry. I've already put up my 2013 Beauty Favourites and my 2013 Haircare Favourites so feel free to have a nosey at those if you'd like.

B.Pure Micellar Water
2013 was definitely a year for Micellar waters, I really wanted to try Bioderma but with it being hard to get hold of and the fact its not really affordable for me I decided to try Superdrugs B.Pure offering and I'm so glad I did as I love it. I use the 3-in-1 cleanser every night to quickly and effectively remove all of my face makeup, it's extremely gentle and there's no water required to rinse off either, simple!!!

Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes
You will notice I absolutely love Simple Skincare products!!! I have extremely sensitive skin and everything in the Simple range is a complete gem to me. I use these facial wipes every morning after my shower just to make sure my face is completely clean and that my eyes are free from any mascara that might have been left behind the night before, they are so gentle around the eye area, and are the only wipes that don't sting my eyes, I've honestly been repurchasing them for years, I just love them!!!

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash
Another Simple product I couldn't be without.... I use this facial wash most evenings before I cleanse and it does a really great job of completely cleaning your skin, it gets most traces of makeup off and leaves your skin feeling super soft and moisturised.

Dr.Brandt Microdermabrsion Skin Efoliant
Ive been addicted to this stuff ever since I received this sample in my Birchbox in October and even though it is only a sample size it has lasted me ages as I only use a small amount each time. It's basically an amazing skin exfoliant that I've been using once or twice a week and the improvement in my skins appearance since ive used it is phenomenal, my skin is just so clear and near enough perfect! It's a shame the full size is a whopping £67.00, but I love it so much that I might splurge and treat myself, I could always put my Birchbox points towards it to he he.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser
This moisturiser is lovely and again has been a favourite for years, I use the rich version in the winter as my skin gets more dry when its colder and then I switch it up abit and use the light version in the summer when my skin is not so dry. Theres not much to say apart from it does the job and it sits nicely under foundation too.

Vichy Idealia Life Serum
Serums where never really my thing until I discovered Vichy's offering, it had just made a huge difference in my skins appearance and also how my make up sits on my skin too.  The serums lightweight, pearly formula creates the best make up base I've ever come across, my foundation blends into my skin so quickly, effortlessly and just looked completely flawless. Also the serum is targeted towards making your skin look more radiant so it has a slight pearly sheen to it, which makes my skin look so healthy, glowing and slightly luminous too.

And there you have it, a few of my favourite skincare products that really have made a difference in my skin during 2013.

What have your skincare favourites been during 2013??? Leave me your links if you've done a similar post as I'd love to read it.

My Skincare Routine

Hey girlie's!!!

Today i thought i would share with you my current skincare routine. I have extremely sensitive skin so i try to keep the amount of products i use to an absolute minimum, this also works well as i find if i use too many different product's my skin can get confused and can react quite badly. As i said before i have sensitive skin that can be dry from time to time but for some bizarre reason i suffer with very oily eyelids. I'm very lucky when it comes to spots and break outs as i literally have extremely clear skin, it's very rare that ill get a spot and i put it down to my skincare routine working well for me. Anywhooo here's the run down of products i use in my skincare routine.

B.Pure Micellar Water and Simple Eye Make-up Remover

These two little beaut's are essential in my skincare routine. The B.Pure Micellar Water from Superdrug  is an amazing yet very gentle cleanser that removes all traces of makeup and impurities even on the most sensitive skins, it just leaves my skin completely clean, soft with that fresh feeling and I've never experienced any problems with it at all. The Simple Eye Make-up Remover is just brilliant, I've found other eye makeup removers to be too strong and they tend to sting my eyes slightly but this is so gentle and never stings or irritates my eyes at all and removes my eye makeup in seconds even waterproof mascara. I use both of these in the evenings.

Superdrug's Large Cotton Wool Pads

I use these large cotton wool squares with my cleanser and eye makeup remover as they are just so quick and easy to use and saves you wasting all those little oval cotton wool pads,  i only need to use 1 of these for my whole face and then one for both my eyes, i get mine from Superdrugs baby section for around £1.30.

Garnier Simply Essentials Cleansing Wipes

As far as cleansing wipes go i usually buy what ever seems to be on offer at the time as long as they are targeted towards sensitive skin. As for removing makeup with these, well that's a huge no no for me as they only remove a small amount of the surface makeup up and really aren't that great for a full cleanse but i find them great to use after my morning shower just to refresh and cleanse your skin as i would of fully cleansed the evening before.

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash

When i feel like i want a real deep cleanse ill use this facial wash. I tend to stay well away from facial scrubs or face masks as they leave my skin really red, sore and blotchy so this facial wash is a must for me when i want to have a thorough cleanse. The facial wash is a foaming soap free wash that deep cleanses and moisturises your skin, i use this 2-3 times a week and it leaves your skin feeling super soft and super clean.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

As i suffer with some dry patches on my face i always go for the simple rich moisturiser instead of the light option, it works well on my skin and doesn't turn oily during the day and i love the fact that it sits under my foundation a dream and doesn't make my makeup slip at all.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Facial Sunscreen 50+

After receiving this in my Glossybox a while back i honestly thought i wouldn't use this much however the weather in the UK recently has been so super hot that I'm glad i have this in my life. It blends into your skin really quickly leaving a matte finish which i love as usually sun creams can leave you with that horrible oily tacky feeling to the skin, its also water resistant, non perfumed and paraben free so great for sensitive skin. Since using it I've not experienced any problems at all and would highly recommend it.

So that's my skincare routine, its not a lot of products but they all seem to work really well together and keep my skin clear and healthy, you may have noticed i don't use night creams or toners but for me their just not necessary.

I would love to know if your skincare rountine is anything like mine???

July Favourites ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

I cant quite believe its that time again.... July favourites time. I honestly cant believe how quick July has gone although i do love the fact that August is just around the corner as i have lots planned in August he he anywhooo... I thought i would share with you all my favourite beauty products I've been loving throughout this past month... So here goes...

Ive been addicted to this nail polish recently... The shade is just so pretty and versatile for all seasons and the quality of the actual polish itself is amazing!!! The Gelly Hi-Shine range is completely faultless in my opinion, i have done a full review on 'Pomegranate' you can take a peek here.

Superdrug's B.Pure Micellar Water is the only micellar water I've ever tried so i cant compare this to something like Bioderma but what i do know is i love this B.Pure little gem. It cleanses your skin so gently and removes all traces of makeup with ease, its kept my skin completely clear from spots and i can honestly say i can see an improvement in my skin too. I'm so happy to have discovered this as i can see it being in my skin care routine for a long time.

This Collection Cream Puff in 'Cotton Candy' has become my new best friend ha ha. I honestly thought when i bought it 'how could a matte lip cream be moisturising??? But its blooming lovely!! Its not drying at all and has such amazing staying power, i also love the fact that's its the perfect shade for daytime or evening wear. Check out my full review here.

Usually I'm strictly all about the Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes but a while ago i was rummaging through all my makeup and i came across the 'MUA Undressed Palette' so thought id give it a go again, I'm so happy i did as its gorgeous. Its an amazing dupe for the 'Naked' palette but I've actually found the lasting power of the MUA eye shadows in this palette to be alot better than the Urban Decay ones, i couldn't quite believe it. The quality of each eyeshadow is amazing, the pigmentation is great even on the matte shades and the palette is priced at only £4 yup that's right £4.... Bargain Alert!!!

When the weathers been hot in the UK recently I've been enjoying adding a pop of colour to my lips and Revlon's Kiss Me Coral has done just that... Its such a pretty summer shade and although I'm not a massive gloss fan this is among my very few favourite glosses. If you want gorgeous summer time lips then this is your shade.

Usually I'm addicted to this stuff in Autumn/Winter when the weathers frosty and your skin need lots of TLC but for some reason i just slapped a load on when i got out the shower a few weeks ago and it reminded me just how much i love it and I've been addicted again ever since. Its smells amazing and the scent lingers on your skin the next day which i love, its super thick so you feel completely moisturised and leaves it your skin feeling super duper soft. If you haven't tried this before then you need to get yourself to Boots as your missing out on a beauty must have he he.

What's been your favourite beauty products this month?? I'd love to know :)
