Haircare Tips And Tricks To Reduce The Dreaded Frizz!

Hey beaut's!

Keeping your hair frizz free it always tricky, especially in the ever changing UK weather, sometimes it seems theres not a product out there that can help, and this is coming from your girl right here who likes sleek straight hair everyday. I have an entire draw filled with all sorts or products from dry shampoo's, oils, serums you name it, it's in there but I've come to realise that its mostly my own tips and tricks that help me achieve my frizz free, sleek hair so I thought I'd share them with you all today!

Use Heat Protection - This is quite an obvious one but it really is a must, I cant stress enough how heat protecting creams and sprays work wonders at keeping frizz and of course damage at bay. I use straighteners a lot on my hair and if I didn't use my heat protecting spray my hair would be a dry, frazzled, frizzy mess and not silky smooth like it is right now!

Wash Your Hair In Luke Warm Water - This is probably the easiest tip to put into place, if your washing your hair with hot water then dial it down a few degrees because hot water can actually strip your hair of its essential oils, which can leave your hair feeling drier, brittle and looking duller.

Think Of Going Vegan - A while back I actually tried a vegan shampoo, conditioner and hair mask and the results where amazing! The products are free from sulfate, paraben and silicone as well as having a naturally-derived formula which works wonders for the hair. As I said before my hair felt amazing after using the vegan products, it was silky soft, smooth, glossy, manageable and most immortally for me frizz-free. So if your thinking of making the change to vegan hair products I highly recommend you go through with it!

Look At Websites Or Call A Stylist For Inpso - If your struggling with what particular styles to go for - for a special occasion because of the frizz don't be afraid to go that extra mile for ideas, whether it be checking out award winning salons like Top Hairdresser Manchester for advice from the stylists there selves, or just having a browse online can help so much and give you so many ideas, you can also find reviews of products online and get so many recommendations that meet your needs.

Blow Dry With A Brush - I'm not going to lie this is quite hard to master but once you get the hang of it your hairs going to thank you for it! Blow drying with a brush leaves you with such a silky, glossy look to the hair, literally like you've just walked out of the salon, now who doesn't want that because I know I do!

Condition Correctly - Hopefully your already using conditioner - if your not then that's a tip in itself because conditioner has so many benefits such as locking in moisture, getting your hair tangle free, prevents damage and breakage, keeps your hair silky and frizz free and it always makes your hair smell lush too. To get the best results from your conditioner apply it from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair working in with a wide tooth comb skipping the root area, applying conditioner at the roots can end up weighing down your hair and making your root area quite flat which you don't want!

So there you have it beaut's, a few tips and tricks that are pretty easy to put into place that will help with the dreaded frizz! I hope they help a few of you lovelies out!

Testing Out Vegan Haircare By Redken!

Hey beaut's!

I've always struggled with knowing what shampoo and conditioner to buy for my hair, I was always one of these gals that will literally just buy any brand of shampoo which was on offer and that was actually damaging my hair, I was also having major problems with my hair being static all the time too so my hairdresser Rachael from Serenity Thetford helped me out as always and gave me a shampoo and conditioner from Redken's new Nature + Science range to try – these are vegan hair products that are designed to combine the power of nature and the performance of Redken!
If your new to Redken or a fan already the new vegan Nature + Science range is great as you still get all of the same haircare technology and benefits of their All Soft, Color Extend and Extreme shampoo and conditioners, but with a new vegan and naturally-derived formula, this is exciting news for anyone who wants to switch to a cleaner, more natural haircare regimen, but does not want to give up the efficacy or performance of their products. The shampoos from the Nature + Science range are made with 83 percent naturally-derived ingredients while the conditioners are made with 99 percent naturally-derived ingredients. Plus, all of the products are sulfate, paraben and silicone-free and the packaging is made with recycled plastic too.
The range I always use by Redken is All Soft so I'm so happy they've created a vegan formula! The All Soft range is perfect for anyone with dry, brittle hair and honestly this  shampoo and conditioner duo leaves my hair feeling so nourished, glossy, healthy and most importantly I never get any annoying static problems anymore, thank goodness! The new formula of the shampoo still foams and lathers up beautifully and the conditioner is gorgeously creamy, both have a really nice zesty fresh scent to them too which is much appreciated!
I also gave the Redken All Soft Mega Recovery Mask a whirl and LOVED the results! This really intrigued me because the product is actually within a foil cap which you have to pop onto your head and secure for 10 minutes once you have shampooed your hair. I hadn't tried anything like this before but honestly after using it I think it's perfect if your wanting more manageable hair and really want to restore softness and trap in some moisture, it's a little miracle worker really and makes my hair feel INCREDIBLE, likes it's been on it's very own spa day! Whilst the mask is on I like to massage my head so that the super thick formula inside works it's way all around my hair, then after 10 minutes just rinse off and voila! I really recommend this if your hair needs some serious TLC, it's such a treat!
If your in the Norfolk area you can find these Redken products in Serenity Hair Design & BeautyRachael (who cuts my barnet) is the managing directer there and is full of haircare knowledge, honestly shes knows everything there is to know about hair so I really recommend booking in with her if your in the local area! Of course you can find the Redken products online too.

Have you tried any Redken hair products beaut's? What are your favourites? I'd love to know.

Soap & Glory's Haircare Range!

Hey beaut's!

Soap and Glory have recently delved into the depths of all things hair, yup they now have shampoo's, conditioner's, a styling oil, leave in conditioner...the lot! Being the HUGE Soap & Glory lover that I am I couldn't wait to try some of the haircare range out for myself and get that classic pink scent running through my locks, I already LOVE their dry shampoo so I had very high hopes for the rest of the collection!
The first thing I gave a whirl was their JUNK THE GUNK Charcoal Scalp Exfoliating Shampoo £7.50, this is the perfect shampoo to use if you get a lot of product build up in your hair and you want your hair ultra-cleansed! Now I'm not going to lie it's quite strange using this shampoo at first, to begin with the formula of the shampoo itself is black which I've never seen before in a shampoo, I don't know if it's because I've been living under and rock or if this whole charcoal shampoo is a new thing but yeah - I was quite surprised when I first squirted it out of the tube! Also because it's an exfoliating shampoo it contains apricot seed exfoliators which feel much like a body scrub but for your hair, which again felt so strange lathered up with lots of scrubby bit's within my hair! What I will say is that this shampoo does exactly what it says on the tin (or tube lol), it breaks down that build up, banishes impurities and refreshes the scalp leaving my hair feeling amazing and smelling so good! The only negative I have is that if you have long, thick hair like me it does takes a while to completely rinse the scrubby bit's out, other than that it's amazing!

Obviously after the shampoo I needed to follow up with a conditioner so I slathered on the WONDITIONER Intensive Conditioning Pink Clay Hair Mask £9.00, this is enriched with mineral-rich pink clay, shea, cocoa butter AND argan oil which deeply conditions and revitalises your hair, and it has that famous Soap & Glory pink scent running through it so your hair is left smelling absolutely glorious, honestly I was swishing my hair around all day after using this, it's so lush! Because this is more of a hair mask you leave it on for around 5 minutes then rinse thoroughly to get ultimate conditioning results, if like me you want to use it as a conditioner as well as a mask then just leave it on for a minute or two instead of a good 5 mins, it leaves my hair so soft, shiny with no dryness in sight.
Finally I've been trying out then CONTROL SLEEK  Heat-Activated Smoothing Cream £9.00, this stuff really intrigued me because my everyday hair style is a straight, sleek look so I couldn't wait to put this to the test. To use the smoothing cream you just need to whack a small amount through freshly washed towel dried hair and comb through to the ends, then blow dry your hair until it's completely dry. To really activate the cream, use your straighteners to really smooth and straighten your hair and you will notice it goes super sleek. What I love about this product is that it does not need to be used after each wash, the effect will actually get better the more times you heat activate the hair which is super impressive and means less product wastage. If you have problems with frizzy, unruly hair then I cant recommend this enough, and if your after that sleek, super straight look this product is what you need, it doesn't weigh the hair down either or leave a product film over your hair which is a bonus!

Have you tried any of the Soap & Glory haircare range yet beaut's? What products should I try next? I'd some recommendations!

Soap & Glory The Rushower Dry Shampoo Review

Hey beaut's!

Soap and Glory have recently delved into the depths of all things hair, yup they now have shampoo's, conditioner's, a styling oil, leave in conditioner...the lot! I'm definitely going to be trying out the shampoo soon but firstly I wanted to give their dry shampoo a whirl! I do love a good dry shampoo for those in between days and also it works wonders when I wave or curl my hair as it gives me added texture, so I was looking forward to putting Soap & Glory's offering to the test!

The Soap & Glory 'The Rushower' Dry Shampoo claims to instantly refresh and revive your hair and to be honest that is exactly what it does, when my hairs looking a bit drab it gives it such a lift and shine and leaves my hair looking really fresh and feeling soft. The product itself jets out of the can pretty rapidly and smells absolutely divine, it features Soap and Glory's signature pink scent of Rose and Bergamot which I've always adored in their body products and I love it even more within my hair, it's lush!
The Rushower claims to be invisible for all hair types once massaged into the roots and I must admit I've never had any problems with residue or the dreaded 'talc scalp' look, I do have quite light-ashy coloured hair so I cant speak for someone with quite dark or black hair but for me it works really well. Overall I think Soap & Glory have made a really nice dry shampoo here and I honestly don't have one negative to say about it, I'm expecting amazing things from the rest of their haircare range now!

You can find the Soap & Glory The Rushower Dry Shampoo for £4.00 HERE however it is on offer right now at just £2.67 as part of an introductory offer along with the rest of the haircare line!

Glam and Style Diamond Irons Hair Straightener Review

Hey beaut's!

I simply couldn't live without my hair straighteners, my hair is naturally thick and mid-length and gets all kinky and bush-like when I wake up in the mornings, and I get those annoying little curly root bit's underneath my hair that need taming too, so when I got the chance to try the Glam and Style Diamond Irons Hair Straighteners I was all over it, especially when I'm a huge lover of the Glam and Style hair tool range anyway, their chopstick curler is immense!
The Glam and Style Diamond Irons Hair Straightener* has the most beautiful rose gold and black design, their sleek, glossy and certainly look the part on my dressing table. The straightener itself is super easy to use, the ceramic coated floating plates not only give your hair a super sleek finish but they also stop that horrible moment where you catch some hair underneath the plates and it gets ripped out, that doesn't happen with these, woohoo! They have a variable temperature control which heats to 150-230°C in seconds, an easy to view LED display screen, the straighteners are surprisingly lightweight and don't feel bulky in my hands, it has a swivel cord so straightener bends and moves any way you want and a feature I love the most is that the straightener has a 60 minute auto shut off timer, so no more worrying about leaving the straighteners on when I go out!
Overall I'm so impressed with the Glam and Style Diamond Irons Hair Straightener, it looks pretty, works amazingly well in fact I'd go as far as saying the results are just as good as my GHD's, they leave my hair so soft and sleek without any frizz or static and the price is literally incredible, their just £17.99!!!!!! I know what a bargain!!!

New Herbal Haircare by Hempz!

Hi beaut's!

I'm really into my haircare at the moment, I've finally started to have regular haircuts because yes... I am the sort of person to just leave my hair for months upon months without it being cut until it's in a bush-like state, and since having these regular trim-ups I've noticed my hair's much healthier so I really wanted to start using some products to keep my hair in the best condition possible and that's where the new Hempz Herbal Haircare range comes in.
The Hempz Herbal Haircare range is made up of 5 luxurious products for a fabulous and full haircare routine, I've been using 3 of the 5 and have really been enjoying them, I can now see why the Hempz brand is so big in the beauty world right now! All of the Hempz products are enriched with 100% pure natural Hemp Seed oil which is renowned for its high levels of antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and essential fatty acids – making it a truly nourishing and healing ingredient. The Herbal Haircare collection is also Sulphate-Free, Vegan-Friendly, Cruelty-Free, Paraben-Free and has the most gorgeous Fresh Hemp and Citrus scent which really lasts and lingers.
The first product I knew I needed to switch up in my haircare routine was a shampoo, I knew I wanted something sulphate-free so it's pretty good for me that the Hempz Fortifying Shampoo* (£16.99) is indeed sulphate-free! The formula of the shampoo itself is super thick and lathers up really well, and the citrus scent is so refreshing and lasts in my hair a good couple of days after washing, it almost smells like sweets to be honest. After washing I noticed my hair was so soft and smooth without being fly-away or static, and the Hempz shampoo is super nourishing and moisturising without leaving me greasy which is a major plus for me especially because I use so much heat on my hair, it feels like a treatment to be honest.

I use hairspray everyday because I get a few wispy bit's were my parting is that I like to tame, and if I curl or wave my hair then I always give my hair a good spritz for lasting purposes so I was interested to see how the Hempz Workable Hairspray* (£18.99) fared, I've tried a lorry load of hairsprays in my time I tell ya! The Hempz hairspray really did work well in my hair, not only did it add body and volume when I curled my hair but it leaves a lovely shine and doesn't go crispy or sticky, it also has a guard against humidity so if you suffer from frizz you will love this stuff, it's a medium hold hairspray too so it's keeps everything tamed and in place with ease.

I like using the Flexible Styling Sculpt* (£15.99) again when I've added some curl and texture to my hair, it just helps to tame the frizz the curls may have created and helps lock everything in place. My boyfriend has actually become obsessed with this stuff too whilst styling his barnet, he loves it because it looks so natural and doesn't give your hair a wet-hair gel look and it never goes hard or flaky in his hair either which is a pet hate of his!

If your looking for some natural, good quality haircare products to add to your routine I really cant recommend Hempz enough, my hair's honestly never felt or looked so healthy and if my boyfriend even approves then it must be some good stuff he he.

Design.ME Hair Lands In The UK!

Hey beaut's!

Design.ME Hair is a super new brand to me, that's because its actually a US based, vegan, cruelty-free, sulphate, paraben and gluten free haircare brand which isn't that easy to get hold of here in the UK only in Sally Beauty stores and online. Design.ME Hair currently have five products available on the Sally Beauty website and I've been giving three of them a whirl over the last month or so and have really been enjoying the results! PS - Can we just appreciate how gorgeous the packaging is, it's so fun and colourful and looks so cute on my dresser!
I'm going to kick things off with my favourite product out of the three, the PowerDRY.ME Spray* (£14.95). This unique little product claims to reduce blow dry time by up to 50%, and seeing as I absolutely HATE drying my hair anything that claims to speed the process up I'm all over. Now I have no idea about the technology behind this product but it definitely does seem to work because my hair seems to dry much quicker than before, all I do is literally spritz the PowerDRY.ME spray all through my hair from root to tip and blow dry as normal and after a couple of minutes it's dry, it's a life saver for me as my hair is quite thick so usually takes ages to dry. It also offers heat and UV Protection and smells incredible, just like a salon!
Next up is the Fab.ME Hair Moisturising Mist* (£9.95), this beauty is the mother of all hair treatments, it detangles, hydrates, conditions, nourishes, strengthens, smooths and protects the hair all in a few easy spritz'! I love using this when I've neglected my hair a bit with heat or just when my hairs looking a bit drab, it's really does act like a 'pick me up' product for my hair and gives it some life back. Despite being quite a nourishing product it doesn't feel heavy in my hair nore does it make my hair greasy like other conditioning sprays have done in the past, and just like PowerDRY.ME it smells soooo good!
Finally I've been using the Puff.ME Volumising Powder Mist* (£9.95). This is the FIRST EVER super-volumising powder spray in a pump which gives you that instant volume you've been longing for. Now I must admit it took me a while to get to grips with this product, it just felt quite strange spraying a powder into my hair, it also feels slightly tacky and stiff to begin with but it does indeed add a lot of volume and texture to the hair. I have quite a deep set side parting so one side of my head has a lot less hair than the other, so on flat days I like to rub some Puff.ME into the root area and it gives me a lift without the back-combing. I think Puff.ME would work amazingly well for up do's too because it does add lots of texture to the hair and make it so easy to work with and creates great hold for pins and grips!

You can shop the Design.ME Hair Range HERE.

Tangle Angel in Precious Pink Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

I'm always on the hunt for a good hairbrush, my hair is long and quite thick and I'm always whacking different products in it so a good brush is an essential for my barnet, but I tend to go through quite a few due to bent bristles and what not so when I heard of the Tangle Angel being great for detangling as well as being 'Kim K's favourite' I just had to give it a whirl.
The Tangle Angel* is a professional detangling hairbrush which is not only perfect for detangling both wet and dry hair, but is also a great blow drying brush and is suitable for all hair types. The brush itself comes in lots of different colours but I opted for Precious Pink because it was so cute and girlie, the back of the brush has an angel wing design which not only looks pretty but is multi functional too because you can hold it just by the wing design to get greater control and extra grip or you can just use the free standing handle.
The bristles of the brush come in different lengths to catch every hair and are super soft and flexible, at first glance it reminded me of my tangle teezer but actually the bristles are much softer and more flexible with the Tangle Angel. Theres so many other benefits to the Tangle Angel bristles too, their heat resistant (the tangle teezer isn't) and retain their shape even when used with high temperatures, their anti static which is a major plus for me because theres nothing I hate more than when my hair goes static, and the bristles and the plastic also have antibacterial additives embedded within them which makes it an ultra hygienic brush.
Overall I really love the Tangle Angel brush and have been pleasantly surprised by it, it glides through my hair with ease without pulling or tugging and I've noticed that hardly any of my hair gets left behind within the bristles, not like my other large paddle brush I have which is basically full of my hair which has been yanked out. I also love how soft the bristles are, their not scratchy in the slightest and feel so gentle against my scalp, and the brush is super lightweight too despite looking quite heavy so its easy to hold whilst I blow dry or straighten my hair.

If you have long thick hair like mine that's prone to tangling or being hard to manage in the mornings then I'd definitely recommend this beauty, I mean if it's good enough for Kim K then why not hey? He he.

You can find the Tangle Angel Professional Detangling Brush for £12.95 HERE.

L'Oréal Professionnel French Girl Hair Collection Review

 Hey beaut's!

When a haircare range is called French Girl Hair I'm instantly drawn to it, when I think of french girl hair I think of cool, stylish, tousled and effortlessly messy - something I'm extremely fond of but can rarely achieve however... L'Oréal Professionnel have a range to help us achieve just that and after giving it a whirl I'm in love!
The French Girl Hair* collection is part of L'Oréal's Tecni.Art range and consists of two products, the Messy Cliche Styling Spray (RRP £15.00) recommended for fine hair and the French Froisse Styling Cream (RRP £15.00) recommended for thick hair, both products can be used in wet or dry hair however I like to blow dry the cream in and use the spray more on my hair when it's dry. After giving both of these products a whirl I've found myself pretty much obsessed, if you love that 'beachy waves' and natural wave look as much as I do then you need to get these products as they achieve just that. All you have to do is just twist and scrunch the hair whilst working either of the two products in and voila.... you get a super easy tousled look that stays put without weighing your hair down or making it greasy or crispy.
Another look I've been loving is the '90's crimped' look, to get this I literally spray the Messy Cliche Styling Spray all through my hair then do a couple of plaits either side of my head, then run my straighteners over my plaits and then when the plaits are undone I get this amazing messy crimped effect that really lasts and doesn't go frizzy, I've had so many compliments and comments on how I've achieved this look too, yet it's so simple and takes me around 5 minutes to achieve.

Overall I'm totally obsessed with these two little beauties, I'm definitely using the spray more than the cream but that's because I find the spray so quick and easy to use in my hair, if you do have very thick hair though the cream would definitely work well. I think the messy, tousled waved look is going to be my go to hair style for Spring and Summer for sure, I'm obsessed!

L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni.Art Collection Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

Being graced with quite long hair means I get to play around with styles a lot, I mean I'm not the most creative person out there when it comes to my hair but I do love to curl and wave my hair and then go on to styling it afterwards and I've been loving some of L'Oréal's Professionnel Tecni.Art Collection to help me do so.
One of my favourite products from the L'Oréal Professionnel Tecni Art Collection is the Full Volume Extra Mousse* (RRP £11.79), this is where it all starts for me in terms of building and great platform for my styles, I just pop some of the mousse into the palms of my hands and spread it through my hair with my fingers, this not only gives my hair such a volumised look once it's blow-dried in but adds texture and grip for when I'm curling and styling. What I love about this mousse is that it's not hard, crispy or flaky like other mousses I've tried in the past, it literally keeps everything in place but with a real soft finish which I love, and it smells incredible - just like the hairdressers.
Something else that is a life saver for me when curling my hair is the Tecni Art Pli Thermo-Fixing Spray* (RRP £13.99), this is a heat activated setting spray that gives instant volume, adds shape, fix, grip and hold whilst you style your hair with a heated tool, so as you can imagine having this spritzed into my hair before curling makes things a lot easier for me afterwards and keeps my waves in place for days without weighing my hair down.

The only downside to curling and waving my hair is often I'll get those annoying fly aways or frizzy bits that just wont tame - I'm sure I'm not the only person that really gets the hump by this, but the Tecni Art Liss Control Gel-Cream* (£14.50) has really been helping me out in that department, I can now see why this is a best-seller for L'Oréal. This gorgeous stuff controls and smooths those pesky frizzy bits and fly aways for up to 24 hours and I kid you not it really does do the trick, I use this gel-cream every single time I blow dry my hair now because even if I wear my hair straight it still controls the fly aways and frizz, I love this stuff so much. I'd also recommend this if your going on holiday or dealing with humidity, I bet it would cope with that amazingly!

Finally if your a lover of dry shampoo then you NEED to give the Tecni.Art Morning After Dust Invisible Dry Shampoo* (£13.36) a whirl. I use this just like any other dry shampoo but theres no residue or 'talc scalp' look what so ever and it gives mega root lift too, again the smell is absolutely divine and you could easily trick people into thinking your hairs been freshly washed, this stuff has probably impressed me the most out of everything!

L’Oréal Professionnel Série Expert Nutrifier Collection Review

Hey beaut's!

When it comes to my hair I'm quite naughty and do neglect it slightly, I'm always using heat on it whether it be when I curl it, straighten it or blow dry it and as you can imagine this leaves me with very dry, frazzled hair especially on the lower lengths, infact last year I had to have loads of my hair chopped off because it was so dry and damaged, so I'm always on the hunt for good haircare products now that will really repair and nourish my hair.
The first step to take when you really want to repair your hair is finding the correct products to wash and condition it with, this can seem so simple but can make such a difference in the overall look and feel to your hair, and stupidly I didn't realise this until recently, I'm the sort of person who would usually pick up any shampoo on offer whether it be for my hair type or not and then wonder why there was no improvement in my hair at all - silly Hayley. Sooo.... I've been using the L’Oréal Nutrifier Shampoo and Condition on my hair recently which are both specially designed for dry, undernourished hair - perfect for me and my barnet! The Série Expert Nutrifier Shampoo* (RRP £11.50) and the Série Expert Nutrifier Conditioner* (RRP £12.50) are both silicone-free and made with glycerol and coconut oil. As we all know coconut oil has amazing benefits for the hair, not only does it nourish the hair but it nourishes the scalp too and brings shine to the hair and the added glycerol helps to hydrate and retain moisture, so these two are a match made in heaven for my hair. Since using this shampoo and conditioner I've noticed a HUGE improvement in my hair, it's softer, appears shiny and glossy, the ends don't feel dry or frazzled anymore and the overall appearance is just so much healthier!
Another step I like to take is using the Série Expert Nutrifier Masque* (RRP £14.75), this is an intense, deep conditioning treatment for the hair. I love using this once or twice and week, all I do is wash and condition my hair as normal than slather on the masque from root to tip and leave for around 5 minutes or so then rinse off. I have to say the results of this masque are instant and if your suffering with dry hair then one use of this will knock your socks off, my hair feels incredible when I've used the masque, it's so silky soft with even more added shine and nourishment, I can see myself buying this over and over as I cant live without it in my haircare routine now.

Overall I'm so happy I've come across the Série Expert Nutrifier range because it suits my hair down to a T, my hair feels super soft at all times, shiny, nourished and never weighed down or greasy, not to mention the scent of these products is incredible - really luxurious and just like you walked out of the salon.

You can find the complete L’Oréal Professionnel Série Expert Nutrifier Collection HERE and HERE.
