Eye Of Horus Mascara | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

Today I'm back with a mascara  review from a newly launched make-up range in the UK called Eye of Horus*. Eye of Horus originates from Australia and consists of a Mascara, Liquid Eye Liner, Eye Pencils that are available in seven different shades and some make-up accessories, all of which are based on the ancient and long-wearing formula's of the Ancient Egyptians, using ingredients such as Moringa Oil and Carnauba Wax. They strive to provide non-irritating, long lasting, paraben & cruelty-free, luxurious products that are great for the most sensitive eyes and brittle lashes, sounds pretty amazing right???

Now onto the Eye of Horus 'Goddess Mascara' I've been testing out...

Firstly the mascara's applicator/wand has a interesting flexible hourglass shape and has a plastic brush which is amazing at separating and defining your lashes but I have to admit I'm not a fan of plastic brushes in general as usually I some how always spike myself in the eye, so if your anything like me take extra caution ha ha . The application process was OK, it coated all of my eyelashes evenly with a nice black slick of mascara and did lengthen my lashes quite abit but didn't give them as much oomph as Id usually go for, I'd suggest using eye lash curlers for extra length and curl if I'm honest. I'd definitely recommend this mascara to anyone who likes a more separated and defined look, that being said, its perfect for everyday wear.

The Goddess Mascara doesn't claim to be waterproof but I found it's staying power is where the mascara really does shine, it literally doesn't budge!!! I never experienced any flaking, smudging or transferring all day and I've even cried whilst wearing this mascara and it stayed exactly the same (I cry at most movies I watch ha ha), I didn't find it a pain to remove either, I just used my normal cleanser and it came off a treat which is a plus, there's nothing worse than when you have to be rough on your lashes to remove mascara and you end up losing some.

Overall I do like this mascara for a more natural/defined look to the eyes, I think its staying power is incredible and I love the fact that Eye Of Horus cater to us girlie's with sensitive eyes and brittle lashes, none of their range contains nasty chemicals so your good to go with everything the brand have to offer.

Have you tried any make-up goodies from Eye Of Horus?? What did you think girlie's??

Don't forget you can enter my GIVEAWAY here to be in with a chance of winning a MAC lipstick and a MAC eyeshadow of your choice!!!

Barry M Eyeliner Review | Bold Black & Brown

Hey girlie's!!!

I was in desperate need of a new eyeliner as my Avon Supershock is so tiny that I cant even sharpen it, I decided I wanted to try something new and I surprisingly opted for Barry M Kohl Liners. Now you might be shocked to hear that I have never EVER bought make up from Barry M before, I have thousands of their Nail Polishes but no make up. The reason I decided on Barry M eyeliners was because that day I had watched a make up tutorial done by the fabulous Nic from Pixiwoo, Nic used the brown and the black Barry M eyeliners in her tutorial and said they were amazing, so if Nic from Pixiwoo says they're amazing then I knew they'd be good and I just had to buy them to try for myself.

Here's the two I opted for....

Barry M Bold Black Waterproof Eyeliner £3.99
Firstly I opted for the Bold Black Waterproof eyeliner, in the shop I thought this was actually a standard kohl liner but once I'd got it home and opened it I realised it's actually a gel formula eye liner, which are my favourite!!! I find gel eyeliners always have better colour pay off and are so much softer and easier to use and Barry M's offering certainly doesn't disappoint!!! As you can see from the swatch pictured above, the pigmentation is very strong, its the blackest of blacks, the eyeliner is also very soft and easy to use whether you want to line your waterline or upper lash line, and it smudges out beautifully for the more dramatic smokey looks. As for wear time... On the upper lash line the eyeliner didn't budge all day which I thought was amazing and there was no fading either, it was still its bold black shade, on the waterline I found it started to fade/wear off after a good 4-5 hours. Overall I do love the Bold Black eyeliner from Barry M I just wish it lasted slightly longer on the waterline.

Barry M Brown Kohl Pencil £2.99
Brown eyeliner is something I never used to use but recently I've been using my Stila brown liner alot so I thought I'd treat myself to another more affordable option. The Barry M Brown Kohl Liner is just as good as any other standard kohl liner to be honest, it was nice an soft to use on the waterline and gave a much more softer look than the black which is always nice for daytime wear, I also used the brown eyeliner on my upper lash line when I done a nice neutral eye look and again it worked well and went on with ease, I particularly liked using the brown eyeliner to smudge along my lower lash line, it looked really pretty and smudged out well without budging all day.

Overall I really do love Barry M's eyeliners and I'm glad I gave them a go, I'd definitely say their lasting power when used for smudging is phenomenal but on the waterline they don't last as long as I'd like, however I don't mind topping up my liner through the day if I need too.

Have any of you girlie's tried any of the Barry M liners before??? What did you think??

Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner | Review

 Hey girlie's!!!

Liquid liner has been something I've always struggled with until this year, i couldn't even apply it without having wonky lines or uneven wings/flicks. I recently took it upon myself  to try out lots of eyeliners and I'm thinking of doing a battle of the eyeliners style post soon but today I'm just going to share with you all my love for the fabulous 'Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner'.

This eyeliner is truly one of the best I've ever used, so you maybe thinking why do i love it so much??? Well... For me its all about easy application and this eyeliner screams easy application. The applicator is a relatively small felt tip kind of jobbie, you can draw a very thin line to a thick line with ease and i find that as its a felt tip style eyeliner its really easy to create flicks which is something that has always been tricky for me. Another thing that i love about this eyeliner is its staying power, my goodness its a good'un, its stays put all day without fading, smudging or transferring. The only downside for some people with this eyeliner is that it has a complete matte finish, where as most eyeliners I've used leave a slight glossy finish, personally i prefer the matte finish making it perfect for daytime wear.

If the eyeliner wasn't good enough already the fact this is an absolute bargain at just £2.99 makes it a complete winner in my eye's, i literally have no bad words to say about this eyeliner and would definitely recommend it whether your a beginner's to the eyeliner world or just generally looking for a new eyeliner this one wont disappoint.

Have you tried this eyeliner before??? Do you love it as much as me???

My First MAC Eye Shadow Palette | Neutrals | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

I celebrated my birthday recently and i was lucky enough to receive a Mac Pro Palette quad from my Mum with four gorgeous Mac eye shadows to fill the palette, i cant tell you how excited i was to finally own my very first Mac eye shadows palette eeekkk.

When deciding on what shades to start with i knew i wanted neutrals as I'm definitely a neutrals girl so i gave my Mum and few shades to choose from and i think she done a fantastic job as i love every shade she chose. The shades i got are.....

All That Glitters- A shimmery bronze/gold with pinky tones, its a veluxe pearl eye shadow that doesn't disappoint. The pigmentation is fabulous, its blends on effortlessly and looks amazing on brown eyes.

Satin Taupe- A taupe/mushroom shade with a frost finish, its an amazing all rounder eye shadow that looks great all over the lid or through the crease to create a gorgeous mid tone smokey eye .

Naked Lunch- A shimmery nude/champagne shade with a frost finish, great to use all over the lid but i love using it as a brow bone highlighter, its just so pretty.

Omega- A matte 'greige' i say that because its somewhere between a grey, brown and beige. Its the absolute perfect brow colour for me so i will probably only use it to fill in my eyebrows.

Being a newbie to the Mac eye shadow world i didn't really know what to expect, obviously i know they are well loved but i didn't realise just how nice they actually are. All four shades i have go on so effortlessly and blend out beautifully, the pigmentation in all the shades i have are great, there's no fall out when applying, they last on my oily eyelids all day without creasing and i can already see myself buying another palette and then getting addicted to filling it with lots of eye shadows he he.

All in all I'm super impressed with the quality of the Mac eye shadows and would recommend them to everyone especially the little quad palette if your knew to MAC eye shadows like me, its just a great way to start out your very own collection with a little quad.

The little pro palette quad is priced at £6.50 and the single eyeshadow pans are £10 each.

Let me know if you have any good Mac eye shadow recommendations, id love to know for future purchases.

My Skincare Routine

Hey girlie's!!!

Today i thought i would share with you my current skincare routine. I have extremely sensitive skin so i try to keep the amount of products i use to an absolute minimum, this also works well as i find if i use too many different product's my skin can get confused and can react quite badly. As i said before i have sensitive skin that can be dry from time to time but for some bizarre reason i suffer with very oily eyelids. I'm very lucky when it comes to spots and break outs as i literally have extremely clear skin, it's very rare that ill get a spot and i put it down to my skincare routine working well for me. Anywhooo here's the run down of products i use in my skincare routine.

B.Pure Micellar Water and Simple Eye Make-up Remover

These two little beaut's are essential in my skincare routine. The B.Pure Micellar Water from Superdrug  is an amazing yet very gentle cleanser that removes all traces of makeup and impurities even on the most sensitive skins, it just leaves my skin completely clean, soft with that fresh feeling and I've never experienced any problems with it at all. The Simple Eye Make-up Remover is just brilliant, I've found other eye makeup removers to be too strong and they tend to sting my eyes slightly but this is so gentle and never stings or irritates my eyes at all and removes my eye makeup in seconds even waterproof mascara. I use both of these in the evenings.

Superdrug's Large Cotton Wool Pads

I use these large cotton wool squares with my cleanser and eye makeup remover as they are just so quick and easy to use and saves you wasting all those little oval cotton wool pads,  i only need to use 1 of these for my whole face and then one for both my eyes, i get mine from Superdrugs baby section for around £1.30.

Garnier Simply Essentials Cleansing Wipes

As far as cleansing wipes go i usually buy what ever seems to be on offer at the time as long as they are targeted towards sensitive skin. As for removing makeup with these, well that's a huge no no for me as they only remove a small amount of the surface makeup up and really aren't that great for a full cleanse but i find them great to use after my morning shower just to refresh and cleanse your skin as i would of fully cleansed the evening before.

Simple Moisturising Facial Wash

When i feel like i want a real deep cleanse ill use this facial wash. I tend to stay well away from facial scrubs or face masks as they leave my skin really red, sore and blotchy so this facial wash is a must for me when i want to have a thorough cleanse. The facial wash is a foaming soap free wash that deep cleanses and moisturises your skin, i use this 2-3 times a week and it leaves your skin feeling super soft and super clean.

Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser

As i suffer with some dry patches on my face i always go for the simple rich moisturiser instead of the light option, it works well on my skin and doesn't turn oily during the day and i love the fact that it sits under my foundation a dream and doesn't make my makeup slip at all.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Facial Sunscreen 50+

After receiving this in my Glossybox a while back i honestly thought i wouldn't use this much however the weather in the UK recently has been so super hot that I'm glad i have this in my life. It blends into your skin really quickly leaving a matte finish which i love as usually sun creams can leave you with that horrible oily tacky feeling to the skin, its also water resistant, non perfumed and paraben free so great for sensitive skin. Since using it I've not experienced any problems at all and would highly recommend it.

So that's my skincare routine, its not a lot of products but they all seem to work really well together and keep my skin clear and healthy, you may have noticed i don't use night creams or toners but for me their just not necessary.

I would love to know if your skincare rountine is anything like mine???

Face of the Day | Neutral Smokey Eye

Hey girlie's!!!

Recently whenever I've decided to wear eye shadows I've always been choosing to do a neutral smokey eye, i just love it!!! So today i thought id share with you what makeup I've been using daily at the moment, hope you like!!!!

For everyday wear i don't tend to use too many products, half the time I'm rushing around at silly o'clock in the morning trying to get ready for work quickly so i don't bother with certain things like highlighter or contour and sometimes skip lip products completely.. Anyway here's the run down of products I'm using at the moment.

♥ I start off by using my 'Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation in 100 Ivory' i love this for everyday use, it gives the perfect amount of coverage without being cakey and literally blends out in seconds with the 'Real Techniques Buffing Brush'.

♥ For concealer I've been using 'Benefit Erase Paste in No2 Medium' this provides really great coverage over my horrid dark under eye circles and is super long lasting.

♥ As always i like to use my 'Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Medium' just to powder over my t-zone area as that's where i sometimes get some shine.

♥ Now for the neutral smokey eye I've been loving... Ive been addicted to my 'MUA Undressed Palette' i used shade 1 all over the lid, blended shade 5 into the crease then i deepened the crease and outta corner slightly with shade 8 and then blend, blend, blend!!!

♥ For eyeliner on my waterline I've been using 'Stila Waterproof Smudge Stick in Damsel' its deep brown colour that doesn't budge for hours. I then used 'L'oreal Super Liner in Black Lacquer' just to create a slim line on my upper lash line.

♥ Ive been testing out so many mascara's recently but the one i opted for today was 'Max Factor's Clump Defy in Black' it really separates your lashes and doesn't flake or smudge.

♥ As abit of a lip and cheek duo I've been using 'Benefit Posetint' its great to build up on the cheeks and lips and stays put for yonks.

♥ For eyebrows i just mixed a few shades from the MUA Palette as my beloved HD Brow Palette is all gone (super sad face) so until i buy a new 1 I'm having to deal with awful brows ha ha.

I hope you liked this kind of post girlie's, let me know if you use any of these products too.

Collection Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils | Review

Hey girlie's!!

I recently picked up these gorgeous 'Work The Colour Eyeshadow Pencils by Collection' and since I've fallen in love with them so much i just had to share the love ha ha.

I picked up 'Vanilla Sky' a pearly champagne colour and 'Hot Chocolate' a dark brown/bronze colour. There are 4 more shades in the collection but these 2 shades are the most wearable for me, i do love a good neutral smokey eye!!!

Both the pencils are described to be 'blendable' and 'velvety soft' and i couldn't agree more, they are so creamy and easy to use. I'm all about getting my makeup on quick as I'm always rushing to get ready for work at silly o'clock in the morning and i also need my makeup to be long lasting as i never really have time for touch ups during a working day and these pencils are fabulous for both aspects, the creamy formula makes application super quick as you can just blend with your finger and the fact that these are also waterproof makes them super long lasting without a smudge in sight. The feel and texture of these creamy pencils really reminds me of a Mac Paint Pot as I'm applying, but id say they definitely last longer than the paints pots (they wear off and crease on me).

When applying these i did find you have to work quite quick as once they set, they set!! I really did expect creasing from these, i have oily eyelids anyway and cream eye shadows usually always crease on me but noooo.... they literally don't budge.

'Vanilla Sky' and 'Hot Chocolate'

As you can see from the swatches the 'Eyeshadow Pencils' are super pigmented and have a beautiful pearly shimmer finish. I find both of these pencils to be super versatile, i even used 'Hot Chocolate' on my waterline and it didn't budge all day. These are also super affordable at £3.19 each, all though there was an offer on when i brought mine and they where £2.50 each then, what a beauty steal. Both of these are definitely the kind of products id reach for everyday and are now pride of place in my everyday makeup bag. Whether you want to use them as a base or a quick neutral look you wont be disappointed.

Have you tried these gorgeous eye shadow pencils?? What did you think??

Fashionista | Customise You Own Palette Review & Swatches

Recently whilst having a snoop for beauty bargains online i noticed that MUA Cosmetics had a new addition to their website, Fashionista. Fashionista is a makeup brand that used to be available in Superdrug, i have no idea if it still is available in Superdrug as in my town we never had the Fashionista stand atall. As i was browsing i couldn't believe the affordable prices, everything is half price on the website right now so it would of been silly not make a cheeky purchase.

I decided to build my own little 4 shade palette, personally i think this is a fab idea as you get to choose all the shades that your filling your palette with, therefore you not going to end up with a palette with the odd shade here or there that you will never use, brilliant. I opted for 2 eye shadows, 1 blusher and a bronzer, you could always opt for all eye shadows or all blushes etc the choice is yours.

The shades i chose are....

Cafe Au Lait is a pearl champagne colour eyeshadow, great for using as a highlight on the brow bone or inner corners of the eyes.

Brunette Bombshell is a pearl dark chocolate brown eyeshadow with tiny bronze shimmer particles running through it, the pigmentation is amazing and its very soft to the touch.

Amber Glow is the only Blusher i picked up, although it doesn't look like it in the picture its actually a coral shade with rose gold shimmer particles running through it. Its very pigmented and a little definitely goes along way with this.

Paris is the bronzer i picked up, i actually wanted to try this more as a contour shade than a bronzer but i don't really like this colour at all. Its a matte orange/rust colour when applied on the face which looks awful on my skin tone,  however it is quite pigmented for a matte shade so that gives it a few points.

My Swatches....

My Palette....

All in all I'm really impressed with this, its a fabulous idea to create your own little palette, the pigmentation and quality is great and the fact all of it only cost £7 when usually 1 eyeshadow costs £4 alone, its an absolute steal. You can also get a six shade palette for £10 at the moment too.

I'm not too sure how long the offer runs until so get them why you can girlie's.

Urban Decay NAKED Basics Palette Review

Urban Decay NAKED Basics Palette £20

I'm super excited to review this palette being the huge Urban Decay fan that i am. The Naked Basics is a cute little palette with 6 neutral matte eye shadows, so if your into your matte eye shadows and your neutrals this is definitely the palette for you. The palette is quite slim and small with a rubberised finish to it and has a good sized mirror inside the lid, out of all the Urban Decay palette's this is my favourite packaging as the other palettes tend to be quite large so aren't so easy to travel with or carry around in your make up bag for touch ups during the day, but this little beauty is pocket sized id say.

Two of the shades in this palette are available in other Urban Decay palettes but the other four are brand new shades. The only semi matte shade in this palette is Venus (the lightest shade in the palette) it has a slight pearly shimmer to it which is fabulous to highlight the brow bone or the tear duct area. What i love about this palette is that the shades can simply take you from day to night, you can use your lighter colours in the palette for the day time and then smoke it up at night with the darker colours, the colour 'Faint' is also great for my eyebrows too.

Colour Description:

Venus: An off white shade with a slight shimmer. NEW!
Foxy: A matte light yellow/creamy colour.
Walk of Shame: A very light nude colour also matte.
Naked 2: A taupe matte colour. NEW!
Faint: A matte dusty brown. NEW!
Crave: A deep dark matte brown/black. NEW!

Without flash.

With flash.

All the shades in this palette are highly pigmented, super soft to the touch and easy to work with, as the formula is so super soft they're really easy to blend and stay in place on the eyelids all day, i have super oily eyelids so i do use a primer or a base so i can get longer wear out of the shadows but i have tested this palette out without primer and the shadows lasted a good 6/7 hours which i thought was amazing.

Overall i really do love this palette, i think it super affordable considering its a high end makeup product, its great for travelling and the eye shadows are super good quality.

Have you got this beauty of a palette?? What did you think??

Love Hayley xXxXx

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Hey girlie's!!! After using my ' They're Real ' mascara on and off for a while now I've decided to do a cheeky review on it. Hope you enjoy!!!!

The Claim: They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. The jet black, long-wearing formula won't smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

The Result: When i first used this mascara i was blown away by the results, my lashes where so full and long and really jet black, there was no smudging and i also noticed you could really layer up this mascara with quite few coats and i experienced no clumps at all. The brush itself is a plastic bristled brush which I'm not a fan of as i find them quite rough and this one in particular is very spiky but is easy to use, the end of the brush has a smallish spiky type ball to make it easy to get to any hard to reach or short lashes, all in all the mascara was brilliant, however, after around 3 to 4 weeks i noticed my mascara was really drying out and during this drying out period i noticed that the mascara really flaked under my eyes as i wore it, as this mascara is priced at £18.50 i believe it shouldn't dry out that quickly and to be honest i don't think its worth the £18.50 price point either as i can get similar results from a high street mascara that's cheaper in price and doesn't dry out so quickly.

Much Love Hayley xXxXx
