MUA Lip Switch Duo Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

I was recently having a browse at all the pretty makeup in Superdrug and decided to pick up a couple of lip products from the MUA stand, I haven't actually bought anything from MUA in a while but was taken in by a couple of their pretty new releases so I thought I'd treat myself to a bargain or two he he. The first thing I saw that I knew I just had to buy was their Lip Switch Duo in Persian Plum, the shade looked right up my street and the concept looked rather good too.
The Lip Switch Duo contains a moisturising matte lipstick on one end and a gloss to match the lipstick shade on the other, personally I think this is a great idea as it allows you to create a multitude of looks all in one, you can either wear the lipstick or the gloss on their own or you can layer them up together for an evening, glossy look. Their are six shade's in the Lip Switch Duo collection to collect ranging from light nude/coral/pink shades to darker red/plum shades, there's definitely a shade for everyone in the collection but I decided on 'Persain Plum', a gorgeous dark purple/plum shade, plums and berry shades are my absolute favourites and even though we are now in Spring I do still like to rock those darker shades in the evenings as I think they look super pretty.

The formula of the Lip Switch Duo is rather nice and was totally different to what I expected, the matte lipstick has a good amount of pigmentation and is actually very creamy and doesn't drag on the lips during application at all, once on the lips it isn't drying and has a slight moisturising feeling to it which is very different to your typical matte lipstick because usually they are very drying. The lasting power of the lipstick worn alone is quite good, it's lasts on me around 4 hours but it does wear off when I eat on drink so sometimes the wear time differs. The lip gloss formula surprised me too, I was expecting a gloopy, sticky gloss but instead it's actually very pleasant and not sticky at all, I do find when you wear the gloss and the lipstick together it does lessen the wear time, and sometimes the lip glosses doe foot applicator can swipe off some of the matte lipstick during application so that is something to look out for. The lipstick nore the lip gloss have a scent or taste, not that I can detect anyway, sometimes I prefer this because I can be abit sensitive when it comes to perfumed products.
Overall I do really like MUA's Lip Switch Duo, I think it's a great concept and even though I'm not a huge lip gloss lover it's always nice to have the option of wearing a matching gloss isn't it. I have worn the matte lipstick alot on its own and really do love it, I'd love to get the red shade that's in the collection because it looks gorgeous and so glam.

The Lip Switch Duo's are £3.00 each in Superdrug however I've noticed that on the MUA website they are currently half price at just £1.50 each, what a bargain!

Have you tried any of the MUA Lip Switch Duo's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know!!

MUA Matte Lipstick in Lilac Belle | Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

As you may or may not know I'm a huge MUA Cosmetics fan, their great quality make up for teeny tiny prices always lures me in, so when I heard MUA where adding two new lipsticks into their Matte Lipstick Collection I just knew I had to try them out.

MUA's Matte Lipstick Collection now consists of 7 lipstick shades in total ranging from nudes to more vibrant shades with a berry shade thrown in for good measure, there's definitely a matte shade for everyone in the collection. The two NEW shades that MUA released for Spring 2014 are called Lilac Belle and Fawny Fancy, both shades seem to be extremely popular and I actually haven't managed to get my hands on Fawny Fancy as of yet so I thought I'd just go for it and review Lilac Belle for you all today!
The packaging for Lilac Belle carrys the same theme as the rest of the MUA Matte Lipstick family with the standard, sleek looking, white plastic packaging and they still come complete with the cutest little surprise at the bottom, a small twist off jar with the same matte lipstick shade inside, its a little addition I've always loved by MUA. Now onto the lipstick itself... Lilac Belle is a gorgeous pinky shade with a lilac undertone which is perfect for Spring/Summer months and has a matte-satin finish, can I also just add how gorgeous and cute the shade name is... I just love it he he! I was expecting Lilac Belle to be quite drying on the lips because it is a matte lipstick after all, however... It feels super lightweight and doesn't dry my lips out at all, the texture of the lipstick on the lips obviously feels dryer than the standard MUA lipstick but then that's to be expected with matte lipsticks, but I can honestly say it feels very comfortable to wear. The formula of Lilac Belle in the bullet is actually alot softer and somewhat smoother than the other MUA matte lipsticks I own such as Wild Berry and Scarlet Siren as they both feel slightly waxy but Lilac Belle feels alot creamier which is nice and has a good depth of pigmentation too! As for the application process... It's lovely,  it glides on well and doesn't drag on the lips at all which makes a nice change as alot of matte lipsticks are prone to pull on tug on the lips as the formula can be harder but Lilac Belle does neither woohoo! The lasting power of Lilac Belle is good, after around 3ish hours I could use a top up but you are left with a pretty pink tint to the lips as the lipsticks wears off which personally I like as it still gives the illusion that you have lipstick on he he.
Overall I have to say MUA have triumphed yet again with another amazing new release. Lilac Belle is so wearable for the Spring/Summer months, it has a good amount of pigmentation, feels nice and lightweight on the lips and of course is extremely affordable at just £1... Yup that right one single little pound!!! What a beauty bargain! I just love it!

Have you tried Lilac Belle yet beaut's?? Or any of the other MUA Matte Lipsticks?? What did you think?? I'd love to know!

Spring/Summer 2014 with Miners Cosmetics!

Hey girlie's!!

Today I'm going to be sharing with you some top Spring/Summer makeup picks by Miners Cosmetics! Miners Cosmetics is a sophisticated yet feminine makeup brand aimed at girls and women who love cosmetics and like to experiment with the latest looks and trends. Miners Cosmetics product portfolio ranges from show stopping Eye shadows, Pencils and Liquid Liners to mouth watering Lip Colour, Glosses and the award winning Tin o’ Tint, not forgetting Nail Colours that are available in an array of trend inspired shades, so there's certainly something all of us makeup and beauty lovers would enjoy!

This Spring/Summer Miners Cosmetics have teamed up with Hayley Sparkes, a top beauty expert and guru who makes regular appearances on ITV's This Morning, as Hayley is now the brands ambassador she has handpicked some of her makeup loves for Spring/Summer and I'll be sharing my thoughts on them for you today!

Fresh Faced Powder in Soft Sand* £3.99
This season is all about creating a fresh faced look which doesn't mask your natural skin tone and what better way to achieve that is by using Miners Cosmetics paraben free 'Fresh Faced Powder'. The Fresh Faced Powder is available in 3 shades and claims to be completely matte and can be used to create a natural base on its own or used as a setting powder over foundation. I have to say after using this powder both ways I'm really impressed, it's completely matte like the claim suggests an does an excellent job at eliminating shine and keeps those oily areas under control  it also evens out the skin tone nicely, I don't find it cakey at all and when used on its own it has great coverage, it wont cover every blemish but it does an amazing job.

Maxi Waterproof Mascara* £3.49

Whether your swimming, sunbathing or just abit hot and sticky in the heat a waterproof mascara is essential in the summer, I mean no one wants to look like a panda ha ha! Even of I am on holiday I do always like a wear a good waterproof mascara throughout the day as I have quite small eyes so I find mascaras really do help open then up and look bigger, I must admit this mascara didn't give me as much oomph as I'd like from a maxi mascara but the staying power really does stand out, I had the mascara on my lashes all day long and it never budged, transferred, smudged or flaked and even after my evening shower it was still in place, don't panic though, it is easily removed with a micellar water or cleanser he he. Overall I think it's a fab little mascara for your holiday's, it will certainly stay in place.

Matte Effect Lipstick in Wonderland* £3.99
The quickest and easiest way to be on trend with your makeup during spring/summer 2014 is by rocking a matte coral or Orange lipstick, this gorgeous shade 'Wonderland' is packed full of pigment and even though its matte I find it surprisingly creamy upon application and doesn't drag on the lips at all. As for lasting power... This baby stayed put for around 3-4 hours and that with me eating and drinking which I think is great for such an affordable lipstick. Overall I love this beauty and I think the colour is absolutely beautiful.

Nail Colour in Jezebel* £2.99
I absolutely love this nail polish, the hot pink colour is gorgeous and perfect for the summer, the formula reminds me very much of the Barry M Nail Paints so if you like them you'll love Miners Cosmetics offering! I found 2 thin coats gave me a nice opaque and rather glossy finish and the lasting power was also quite impressive, I started getting the odd chip on the 4th day of wear.

And there you have it... My thoughts on Hayley Sparkes for Miners Cosmetics top Spring/Summer picks. Overall I have to say these product have amazing quality for such an affordable prices and will definitely get you through the trends without breaking the bank. I don't think I can actually choose 1 product of out the 4 that I tried that I really disliked, the only thing I would change is that I'd love the mascara to give me some more volume and length but that's just personal preference.

Have you tried any of these makeup products from Miners Cosmetics?? What did you think??

December Favourites

 Hey girlie's!!!

I cant quite believe its that time again.... December favourites time!!! Did you all have a sparkling Christmas??? Did Santa leave you lots of beauty treats haha??? It's gone so quick!!! Anywhoo today I thought I would share with you all my favourite beauty products I've been loving throughout this festive month... So here goes...

Rimmel Space Dust Nail Polishes
How gorgeous are these polishes!!! I bought them about 2 weeks ago and I've been wearing them constantly, they are just so pretty and perfect for the party season. My favourite is Aurora closely followed by Moon Walking ha ha. You can read my full review of the Space Dust polishes here.

MAC Quad Palette
For the last few months MAC's Satin Taupe and Naked Lunch have been my go to eye shadows as they just work so well together. They are such versatile shades, you can create lots of different looks with them not to mention the quality/lasting power of the eye shadows is incredible. But be warned these little MAC palettes are addictive, once you buy one you want to keep buying eyeshadows all the time as having an empty space in your palette is torture ha ha.

Dr Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant
I got this little beauty in my October Birchbox and even though its only a sample size it has lasted me ages. It's basically an amazing skin exfoliant that I've been using twice a week and the improvement in my skins appearance in phenomenal, my skin is just so clear and near enough perfect! It's a shame the full size is a whopping £67.00, but I love it that much that I might splurge and treat myself, I could always put my Birchbox points towards it to he he.

MUA Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Siren
Its not a huge shock to see an MUA product in my favourites as I just love MUA, and their matte lipsticks have certainly been a hit with me. Throughout October and November I used the shade Wild Berry alot but in December I've been loving Scarlet Siren, it just goes beautifully with a gold eye look and looks so festive and christmassy and lets face it for £1.00 you cant go wrong.

Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara
Another goodie from my Birchbox that I've been addicted to is the Laura Mercier Long Lash Mascara in Black. This mascara is great if you like incredibly long lashes, and as I have quite small eyes anything that will make my eyes look bigger is fab. When using the Long Lash mascara my eyelashes are so super long to the point where I've been asked if they where in actual fact my real lashes ha ha.

V05 Plump It Up Dry Backcombing Spray
This stuff is incredible!!! I hate backcombing my hair as its such a chore, not to mention how much it damages your hair but I do love abit of added volume at my roots so this stuff is like magic in a can for me haha. You simply give the can a good shake before use then spray evening on dry hair, including your roots, I then rub and jujj where ive sprayed the backcombing spray and then your left with loads of volume, woohoo!!!

What's been your favourite beauty products this month??? I'd love to know!!!

I will doing my 'What I Got For Christmas 2013' post very soon girlie's so look out for that!!

Everyday Festive Make-Up Look

Hey girlie's!!!

Today I thought I'd share with you all what make-up I've been loving to wear on a daily basis so far in December, plus I realised I hadn't actually done a make-up look post in a while (naughty me) so I thought I'd go for it. The look I've been loving is flawless looking skin, a very soft gold eye with a bright red matte lip, I think the combination of the gold eye and red lip is lovely throughout December especially over the festivities.

Anywhooo onto what make-up I used to create this look...

To perfect my base I buffed in Estee Lauder's Double Wear Foundation in Fresco using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, I love this foundation as it provides amazing coverage without looking cakey or too much, I then went on to conceal my dark under eye circles with my Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1 fair. Then to set everything into place I used my Vichy Loose Setting Powder, I then finished off my base with a small amount of my Deborah Milano Blush in 05 Cherry.

I then went on to do my eyes, my favourite part he he...

I started off by packing the shade 'Half Baked' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette all over my lid and softly blended the edges, I then took the shade 'Buck' which is matte light brown and blended that through the crease, I didn't want to go to mad with the crease work as this is a day time look so I wanted it be quite subtle. I then used my Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner in Black to line my upper lash line and added a small flick just to extend the eye ever so slightly. I lined my waterline with my Barry M Bold Black Gel Eyeliner and then took an angled brush with a small amount of 'Darkhorse' from the Naked Palette and used that sparingly under the lower lash line, I then finished of with a coat of  Rimmel Scandleyes Retro Glam Mascara

For the lips I started off by added some lip balm just to soften up the lips and get them nice and moisturised, I do this before I even apply any make-up at all as it gives the balm time to work. I then popped on my MUA Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Siren, its a gorgeous bright red that just screams Christmassy lips to me ha ha.

You could easily turn this daytime look into an evening look by added a darker shade through the crease and smoking it out or you could pack some loose gold pigment on the eye lid which would look pretty and sparkly. You could also add a darker more vampy lip and extend the liner, I could go on forever he he but in a nutshell its a very easy look to create either for daytime or for the evening.

I hope you liked my easy everyday festive red and gold make-up look, any feedback would be great, I'm in no way a make up artist but I do try my best he he!!!

What make-up look will you be wearing over the festivities??? I'd love to know.

Have you entered my giveaway yet girlie's??? If not you can enter here.

October Favourites ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

I cant quite believe its that time again.... October favourites time!!! I know I say this every month but my goodness October went quick, are you all getting into the festive Christmas spirit yet?? I know I am ha ha. Anywhoo... I thought I would share with you all my favourite beauty products I've been loving throughout this past month... So here goes...

SensatioNail Raspberry Wine Starter Kit

I have to say say I think the SensatioNail Starter Kit is one of my beauty favourites of the year so far, I just love it so much. SensatioNail is an at home kit that is designed to give you a salon perfect gel polish manicure but at the fraction of the price, that will last you up to two weeks without chipping, lifting, cracking or smudging. The results are literally amazing, they last a whole 2 weeks on my nails without a chip insight and that stay completely glossy and shiny the whole 2 weeks to. I have literally used nothing but SensatioNail Gel polishes on my nails since I've had it and I'm super impressed. You can read my full review on SensatioNail here.

MUA Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry

A while back MUA brought out a range of Matte Lipsticks, there are 5 shades in the collection  and they are all priced at just £1.00 each.... What a beauty bargain!!! The two shades I picked up are Wild Berry and Scarlet Siren, both of which I love but Wild Berry is by far my favourite and I've been wearing it constantly recently. In the bullet Wild Berry looks like the most unwearable shade but once its applied to the lips its the most stunning wearable plum/berry shade. Its such a beautiful colour to wear at this time of year and I'm sure I'll be getting a lot more use out of this lipstick through the coming months. You can check out my full review on the MUA Matte Lipsticks here.

L'oreal Gel Eyeliner in Pure Black

I must admit I've had this little pot of L'oreal gel eyeliner in my make up collection for a super long time, I've never really used it much, not because I don't like it but because finding a nice brush to use it with proved difficult and the brush that comes with the eyeliner was really hard to work with. Recently I got my hands on a set of Nanshy Brushes and within the set was a very fine pixel eyeliner brush... Bingo, my eyeliner brush debacle is no more. Once you find the right brush that works for you this gel eyeliner works a treat and is so easy to use. It has amazing staying power too and once it has set there's no budging it however... If you like creating very smokey dark eyes then this will be your best fried as if you work quick before the eye liner sets it smudges/blends out beautifully.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

One of the Urban Decay Palette's usually always creeps into my monthly favourites, they are by far my most loved/used palettes, this month however... Ive been using the Naked Basics Palette everyday. It has the most gorgeous neutral matte shades that are just perfect for autumnal daytime wear, and the shades create a nice neutral smokey eye. It's also alot smaller than the average Urban Decay palette so its great for on the go too.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light
Ive had to use an old picture as my concealer is far to messy to photograph ha ha!!

Ive really been enjoying using the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer recently, it has a super thick formula meaning it covers really well yet its still creamy and easy to blend and work with. I also love the fact its a 3 step concealer as you literally have everything you need to conceal completely.

What's been your favourite beauty products this month??? I'd love to know!!!
