Revlon Parfumerie Scented Nail Enamel in Ginger Melon | Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

You may have seen in my recent Boots Beauty Haul that I finally picked up the gorgeous Revlon Parfumerie Nail Enamel in Ginger Melon. I've had my eye on this collection since it was released because everything about these little polishes lures me in, the packaging is adorable, the shades are stunning not to mention they are all scented, I mean what's not to love!

The Parfumerie collection consists of 20 shades in a variety of both classic and on-trend colours, with all the shades revealing a light and enticing fragrance, so there's certainly a shade and scent for everyone. The shade I opted for was Ginger Melon, a pinkish/coralish red shade, perfect for the Summer months, I can see it looking super cute on toes too. The formula of Ginger Melon is very much on the thin side, I'd probably go as far as saying it's the thinnest constancy I've ever seen in a nail polish before, despite it's thin formula Ginger Melon is opaque after 2 coats and drys super quick, by the time I've painted one hand, then painted the next, my first hand is dry for me to apply my second coat. As for application... I find it rather odd, it looks extremely streaky whilst the polish is being applied but dries completely smooth with no bubbling or streaking and your left with a lovely, shiny finish too which is fab. I manged to keep my polish chip free for 3 days, that's with me being at work and doing housework etc so the lasting power isn't too bad nor really impressive with these.
As for the 'Scented' element of the polish... I must admit to begin with I thought this was going to be a major let down scent wise, as soon as I opened the bottle I took a massive whiff and all I could smell was your typical nail polish scent, then after reading the small print on the back of the bottle I noticed that it read 'Fragranced when dry', woahh thank goodness ha ha! It was literally like magic, as soon as my nails where dry I could smell a tropical scent with hints of honeydew melon coming through, it's delicious! As the polish is called 'Ginger Melon' I did expect it to be slightly on the spicy side, but no, there is not a hint of ginger or spice at all, which I'm quite thankful for to be honest as I'm quite happy with its tropical fruity scent. The scent lasted on my nails the whole duration I had it on (3 days) which was pleasantly surprising as I thought once I had washed my hands a few times it would wear off but it didn't, it's not an overly strong scent but I could definitely smell it when laying in bed, when doing my makeup and even when I was in the car my father in law said he could smell it, so scent wise this certainly gets a massive thumbs up from me.
Now onto the packaging, arrhh I love it! The polish comes in vintage looking, perfume style glass bottle's which hold 11.7ml's worth of polish and is finished off with a cute, rounded plastic lid, I mean just how beautiful would these polishes look on display on a dressing table. The brush for the Parfumerie polishes is actually really tiny, the smallest brush I've used from a nail polish that's for sure but it does the job and isn't fiddly at all.
Overall I absolutely love these little polishes, I do think they are on the slightly pricey side being £6.49 a pop, but then again I guess when you take into consideration the scented element and cute bottle the price is bound to go up abit.

Have you tried these beautiful little polsihes girlie's?? What shade or scent is your favourite?? I'd love to know.

  4. I had considered purchasing this last week when I was out, but the scent just made me gag and gave me an instant headache. I may give it another try, but I fear the gag reflect will still intact.

    1. Did you smell it straight from the bottle hun? As I done that too but it isnt actually scented until it had dried on my nails, then I read the bottle and it said 'scented when dry' hehe :) xoxo

  9. I have Ginger Melon which I love and have used several times now and I've just got African Tea Rose which I popped on my toes last night. I love the smell of Ginger Melon but I'm not quite sure what African Tea Rose smells of yet (I know it was on my toes but I managed to have a quick sniff as I'm flexible enough to be able to bite my toes if I want to!)
