Laqa & Co Lil Lip Pencil | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

Last month I finally said goodbye to Glossy box and said hello to Birchbox!!! As I signed up to Birchbox during a certain time frame in October it meant that I would receive 3 little welcome gifts separately, one of the 3 gifts was the Laqa & Co Lil Lip Pencil in Ring of Fire ( yes I sniggered at the too he he), and as I love it so much I thought I'd give it a cheeky little review!!!

Laqa & Co Cosmetics aren't a brand I'm hugely familiar with, but after looking into them abit more due to the love of their Lip Pencil, I've found they specialise in lip products with a few cheeky nail polishes chucked into their range for good measure.

The lip pencil itself is one of the chubby stick style pencils that have seemed to be everywhere this year and I must admit I do love them. Laqa & Co's offering is equally as nice as most I've tried.

Ring of Fire looks like a cherry red shade in the packaging but actually wears on the lips as more of a juicy raspberry/fuchsia shade, the reason I say juicy as it really does feel juicy on the lips as it has a nice glossy shine but without the stickiness of a gloss, the pigmentation is  also fab, but its the staying power that really makes this little lip pencil stand out, when the shine eventually wears off you are left with what I can only explain to be a moisturising stain on the lips, it isn't drying and doesn't budge for a good 6 or so hours and that's with eating and drinking, the only downside is that when the colour eventually starts to wear off it doesn't wear off evenly therefore the contours of your lips are left with what looks like lip liner, although if my lips are quite moisturised on that particular day then its not quite as bad.

Overall I do really like Laqa & Co's Lip Pencil, I love how it's long lasting, moisturising and the colour is lovely and I'd definitely be interested in trying out some other shades in their collection too. Birchbox actually sent me the Lil Lip Pencil which is the miniature version of their Fat Lip Pencil which retails for £14.00 each.

Have you tried any lip products from Laqa & Co??? I'd love to know.

October Favourites ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

I cant quite believe its that time again.... October favourites time!!! I know I say this every month but my goodness October went quick, are you all getting into the festive Christmas spirit yet?? I know I am ha ha. Anywhoo... I thought I would share with you all my favourite beauty products I've been loving throughout this past month... So here goes...

SensatioNail Raspberry Wine Starter Kit

I have to say say I think the SensatioNail Starter Kit is one of my beauty favourites of the year so far, I just love it so much. SensatioNail is an at home kit that is designed to give you a salon perfect gel polish manicure but at the fraction of the price, that will last you up to two weeks without chipping, lifting, cracking or smudging. The results are literally amazing, they last a whole 2 weeks on my nails without a chip insight and that stay completely glossy and shiny the whole 2 weeks to. I have literally used nothing but SensatioNail Gel polishes on my nails since I've had it and I'm super impressed. You can read my full review on SensatioNail here.

MUA Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry

A while back MUA brought out a range of Matte Lipsticks, there are 5 shades in the collection  and they are all priced at just £1.00 each.... What a beauty bargain!!! The two shades I picked up are Wild Berry and Scarlet Siren, both of which I love but Wild Berry is by far my favourite and I've been wearing it constantly recently. In the bullet Wild Berry looks like the most unwearable shade but once its applied to the lips its the most stunning wearable plum/berry shade. Its such a beautiful colour to wear at this time of year and I'm sure I'll be getting a lot more use out of this lipstick through the coming months. You can check out my full review on the MUA Matte Lipsticks here.

L'oreal Gel Eyeliner in Pure Black

I must admit I've had this little pot of L'oreal gel eyeliner in my make up collection for a super long time, I've never really used it much, not because I don't like it but because finding a nice brush to use it with proved difficult and the brush that comes with the eyeliner was really hard to work with. Recently I got my hands on a set of Nanshy Brushes and within the set was a very fine pixel eyeliner brush... Bingo, my eyeliner brush debacle is no more. Once you find the right brush that works for you this gel eyeliner works a treat and is so easy to use. It has amazing staying power too and once it has set there's no budging it however... If you like creating very smokey dark eyes then this will be your best fried as if you work quick before the eye liner sets it smudges/blends out beautifully.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

One of the Urban Decay Palette's usually always creeps into my monthly favourites, they are by far my most loved/used palettes, this month however... Ive been using the Naked Basics Palette everyday. It has the most gorgeous neutral matte shades that are just perfect for autumnal daytime wear, and the shades create a nice neutral smokey eye. It's also alot smaller than the average Urban Decay palette so its great for on the go too.

Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer in Light
Ive had to use an old picture as my concealer is far to messy to photograph ha ha!!

Ive really been enjoying using the Soap & Glory Kick Ass Concealer recently, it has a super thick formula meaning it covers really well yet its still creamy and easy to blend and work with. I also love the fact its a 3 step concealer as you literally have everything you need to conceal completely.

What's been your favourite beauty products this month??? I'd love to know!!!

Birchbox October 2013

Hey girlie's!!!

Today is a very exciting day, why you might be asking??? Well... I got my very first Birchbox and I couldn't be happier with it's contence.

You may be wondering if I will still be doing my monthly Glossybox unboxing post's, sadly I wont, after the October box I almost immediately unsubscribed from them. I had been umming and arhing for some time as to whether i wanted to switch beauty boxes and after Glossyboxe's constant disappointment recently the time had come to say farewell....

Anywhooo onto the little treats I received inside my October Birchbox...

Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturiser SPF 20 14.7ml

Firstly..WOW!!! I honestly couldn't believe it when I saw a Laura Mercier product in my box let alone it being a Tinted Moisturiser!!! I received the shade 'Sand' which I did think was going to be slightly too dark for me, but thank goodness it's not. The Tinted Moisturiser has a sheer, lightweight formula that will add a gorgeous healthy glow to the skin whilst moisturising at the same time, it also has the added bonus of SPF 20. I literally cant wait to start this little beauty. The full size of the Tinted Moisturiser retails for £33.00 for 40ml.

Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant 7.5g

I'm really looking forward to this Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Skin Exfoliant, I've heard so many good things about it. This skin exfoliant is packed full of crystals and lactic acid and will polish away dead skin cells to brighten up all skin types, reduce the appearance of fine lines, acne marks and discolouration. All you have to do is pop a small amount onto damp skin, massage gentle for 1-2 minutes and then rinse. This sounds like a great little product to try and very luxurious too. The fill size of the Skin Exfoliant retails for £67.00.

KMS California Silk Sheen Styling Creme 50ml

I love receiving hair products in beauty boxes so this excites me alot. This KMS California styling creme has a lightweight formula and provides heat protection and control, its great if you suffer from any dreaded frizz, which sometimes can happen to me as I curl my hair often. All you have to do is warm the product between your hands and apply to towel dryed hair and say goodbye to horrible frizz he he. The full size of the Styling Creme retails for £15.50 for 150ml.

theBalm Cosmetics Stainiac 1.2ml

I must admit when I saw a lip/cheek stain in my Birchbox I wasn't jumping for joy as I had received the mememe one in my October Glossybox, however after using theBlam's offering I definitely prefer it over the mememe one. Most lip/cheek stains have that horrid water consistency which I can find difficult to work with and blend, but the 'Staniac' tint has a gel like formula making it so much easier to work with. I also love the fact it comes out quite sheer allowing you to go as dark as you like. The full size of the Stainiac retails for £10.00

Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm For Lips 3ml

Another product I'm happy too see in my box, although I cant help but crease up at the fact its called a nipple balm he he. I did receive this in a Glossybox a while back but I love it sooo much I'm glad to have another one to keep me going. The Nipple Balm for lips is a very thick, 100% natural , multi purpose balm, It helps heal chapped lips, burns, eczema, extreme dry skin patches and the list seems to go on and on. I'm going to purchase the full size of this as its just so versatile and I know ill use it alot. The full size of this retails for £11.50 for 15ml.

Beauty Extra - Egyptian Magic All Purpose Skin Cream 3× 3ml

The first of Birchbox's extras is a beauty extra, they've popped in 3 sachets of the Egyptian Magic all purpose skin cream with 3ml's coming in each sachet. I'm looking forward to using this on the ends of my hair more than anything, as yesss... don't be alarmed you can use this on your hair. The directions say to pop some of the cream into the palms of your hands and rub together until it turns into an oil. Sounds like a cool little product to try and I love the fact the cream is made from just six natural ingredients. The full size tub of this retails for £29.00.

Lifestyle Extra - Birchbox Gel Eye Mask

The lifestyle extra this month is a nice soothing Gel Eye Mask. I'm happy I received this as I currently don't even own an eye mask, this will be nice to just pop in the fridge for those days when I haven't had enough sleep the night before and my eyes are abit puffy. The Eye Mask is available on the Birchbox e-shop for £10.00.

So that's the goodies I received in my very first Birchbox. Overall I'm super impressed, I think the lifestyle and beauty extras make such great little addictions to the box and I love the fact all the products come in a little drawstring bag too, not only can I use the box for storage but I can use the little drawstring bag for storage or travel too. I cant wait for the November box now he he.

What did you think of your Birchbox this month girlie's??? Id love to know!!!

GlossyBox October 2013 | Dark Romance

Hey girlie's!!!

So it's that time again... Glossy box time!!! I've been contemplating for a while now whether to swap beauty boxes as I've found Glossy box so hit and miss recently, however... I have been saving up my glossy dots for a while now so i thought whilst I'm still decided whether to change boxes i may as well use my glossy dots up to get a free box, whoop i love a freebie!!!

When i heard this month's Glossy box theme was called 'Dark Romance' i was super excited, to me that screams Autumnal berry lips and nails and i was expecting some other Autumnal treats inside. After opening my box i have to admit I'm quite disappointed and I think this could be my last Glossy box unfortunately.

Anyway onto whats in my box this month....

Katy Perry Killer Queen Fragrance 1.5ml

Another Glossy box another dreaded perfume sample!!! I really do hate it when we get a perfume sample but thank goodness i like it. I do already have the Katy Perry Killer Queen perfume so the sample will be popped into my handbag for an on the go spritz' even though I'll only get around 3 spritz' out of it. It's has quite a strong floral/fruity scent that lasts on your skin for hours. The full size of 50ml is £29.50

Monu Illuminating Primer SPF15 20ml

I'm expecting quite good things from this Monu Primer as I've loved all the other Monu products I've received in previous Glossy boxes. The primer is paraben free and has been formulated with light reflective mica particles which will help brighten up our complexion, add an instant sheen and enhance our natural radiance, i do love abit of radiance in the Autumn so this sounds brilliant. You can use the primer either on its own or under your makeup for a more flawless, illuminating finish. The full size of this retails for £24.95 for 50ml.

Me Me Me Cherub's Blush - Cheek & Lip Tint 12ml

Me Me Me are known for their Benefit dupes so i think this is their take on the Benetint and i must admit i tried it the minute i opened my box and i do really like it. When used on the cheeks it gives that gorgeous flushed cheek effect which i think looks super cute around this time of year and it's nice that this can be used on the lips as a stain too, i always love a good multi use product. This is the full size and retail's for £5.50.

Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar -Mini

This Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar is something I've never heard of before and it really intrigues me as its a face and body cleanser in bar form, just like a bar of soap. The bar is 100% natural and provides a gentle, deep cleanse of the skin whilst hydrating the skin at the same time. Its very easy to use, like a bar of soap you just moisten with warm water, apply the bar directly onto your face and body and massage into your skin. It has quite a strong herbal scent which i don't dislike nor do i love, however... i do think this will be great on more sensitive skins and i think the bar will last a long time so I'm looking forward to seeing what results i get from this. The full size of the cleansing bar retails for £21.

Premae Multi-Vit Smoothie Serum 20ml

I don't think ill get much use at all out of this Premae Serum as i have very sensitive skin so always stick to the skincare routine i know works for me, but I'm thinking of giving the serum a go just to see if i notice a difference at all. The Premae Serum it targeting more towards combination skin to reduce oiliness, soothe redness and keep the face completely matte and shine free, so if you suffer with any of the above this does sound a good little product. The full size of the serum retails for £22.50 for 50ml.

Overall I'm really disappointed with the contense of this month's box, i really did have high hopes for this month's box as the theme seemed so good. With the combination of the 1 full size product, the perfume sample and the fact we are seeing alot of the same brands over and over in Glossy box at the moment it really is disheartening. Sort it out Glossy box you used to be so good!!!!

What did you receive in your Glossy box this month??? Id love to know???

Primark Haul ♥ | September/October 2013

Hey girlie's!!!

I recently took a trip to one of my favourite high street clothing stores... Primark!!!! I thought id give you all a little peek of the few things i picked up as i know you girlie's like to no what's in store at the moment!!!!

Festive Print Knitted Leggings £10.00

I had to start with one of my favourite purchases, i mean ,how stinking cute are these knitted leggings!!!! I thought they would be perfect for lounging around the house to keep you all snug and warm and get you into the festive spirit, not that i need any help in that department he he.

Plum Hoodie £10.00

I always have a browse around the men's section not only with my boyfriend but too hunt down some snugly primark hoodie's. I always buy my hoodie's from the men's section as i find their more snugly and soft inside than the women's ones, strange i know!!! I picked this gorgeous Plum coloured one up in a small and it fits perfect, its great for just lounging around the house or for when i walk my pooch Alfie!!!

Khaki Jacket with PU Sleeves and Faux Fur Collar £27.00

I was searching for a jacket like this last year but could never find one that just fitted me perfectly until now. As soon i spotted this little beaut in Primark i fell in love and it was in my basket within seconds!!! The PU sleeves are actually really soft and they don't look or feel stiff like the usually faux leather sleeves do, the faux fur is also really soft and detachable and you can sintch in your waist with the little secret toggles inside the coat too. I find its a great jacket to wear now whilst the weathers slightly chilly but not super cold!!!

Super Cosy Tights £3.50

These tights are literally the best tights in the world when the weathers really cold but you stick want to rock your cute dresses and skirts!!! They are 300 denier micro fibre tights with a super soft fleecy lining, they literally are 'super cosy'!!!!

Chunky Knitted Snood in Wine £5.00

When the weather gets really cold i have to have a nice cosy snood to snuggle into when I'm out and about and i thought this one would be perfect. I love it's wine colour and its also super soft which is exactly what i like, there's nothing worse than and itchy scratchy snood!!! Primark also have another snood very similar to this one but with little glittery bits in for £4.00 but that was super itchy, so beware!!

Burgundy Beanie Hat £3.00

Another cheeky men's wear purchase, i couldn't resist the colour again ha ha!!! I also love the style of this beanie as you can wear it slighty saggy (awful word i know) at the back instead of having it pulled tight to your head, which just looks silly on me.

Knitted Ballerina Style Slippers £3.00

Personally i love the style of these slippers as they fit on your feet properly like a shoe but are super warm and fleecy inside like a slipper. I also love how pretty and girly these are too, they're so me.

I hope you liked my very first haul post, if you'd like to see more Primark hauls or just any haul type posts in the future please let me know!!!
