If you read my Mini NYX Haul a couple of weeks ago you'll know that I got rather excited in the Norwich Boots store when I saw that they had a huge NYX makeup stand, as well as buying some other things from NYX I ended up purchasing my very first NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Milan, so I thought I would share my thoughts on it with your all today!
The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream's some in loadsss of different shades but I opted for Milan to be the first in my collection, it's a gorgeous mid tone pink shade that suit my skin tone really well, I was actually hoping this would be more of a dusky pink when I bought it but I'd say it's one or two shades brighter than a dusky pink but it's still a gorgeous colour that I'll be rocking loads through out Spring/Summer. Formula wise, it's lovely! It smells incredible, just like vanilla frosting and instead of general liquid lipsticks that have that liquid, wet texture to begin with I find the NYX offering has more of a light weight mousse texture when they are first applied and then it dries down to a gorgeous matte finish after about 5 minutes or so. I must admit I don't own very many matte finish lip products because I hate that drying feeling that matte lipsticks usually leave me with, but I was actually pleasantly surprised by the NYX Lip Cream finish because despite being matte I don't find it drying or flaky on my what so ever!
As for the lasting power... I find I get a good 3 to 4 hours wear out of Milan or basically until I eat something and then it fades from the middle of my lips and just needs topping up in that area, that doesn't bother me at all because I find in general I always top my lip products up after I've eaten! Overall I absolutely love the formula of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams and I already have the shades Paris and Istanbul on my wish list! Also if you haven't guess already that shade names are all from places around the world which I love, it's so quirky!
