Disappointing Elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Review

Hey beaut's!

Recently Elf launched in the UK in Superdrug, as soon as I saw the Elf stand in my local Superdrug I practically sprinted to it and had to buy something to try. Seeing as I wear liquid liner every single day without fail I thought their Waterproof Eyeliner Pen would be a good place to start!
The Elf Eyeliner Pen claims to be waterproof, smudge-proof, budge-free and long lasting whilst also offering fabulous precision, this is basically everything I look for in a liquid liner so I had high hopes for this. When I started using the Elf eyeliner pen for the very first time I loved it, the felt tip style nib was very easy to use and it was indeed precise like the claims suggest, it was a nice inky formula and not dry at all, and never dragged on my eyes during the application process and created a lovely sharp winged out liner look, so far so good. As I went about my day I noticed a few things about the liner that left me totally disappointed, firstly the claims of the liner being smudge-proof and budge-free are totally wrong in my opinion, firstly I noticed that the eyeliner had some how started transferring into my crease, this has never ever happened to me before in all the years I've worn liquid liner, I then went on to touch the wing I'd created to see if that would budge and it transferred onto my finger straight away, as you can imagine I wasn't a happy bunny. The thin line across my actual eyelid stayed in place OK but everything else was a smudgy mess. The claims of this also being waterproof are totally false too, the swatches I done on my hands actually washed away with ease and I also took some water to my eyes before removing my makeup and the liner rubbed off within a flash so it's certainly not waterproof in the slightest, you'd look like a little panda if you went into the pool or sea with this on I can assure you.
Overall, I'm so disappointed in the Elf Eyeliner Pen, it's such a shame because the nib works fantastically and the inky formula went on like a dream it's just the lasting power that's the problem, it actually feels a little bit like it never truly sets into place. It has been hot and humid in the UK recently so I don't know if that's the reason it was so smudgy but even so all of my other liquid liners I wear that aren't even waterproof never budge. If I was you beaut's I'd steer clear of this and save yourself the £3.00!

Have you tried the Elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen beaut's? Was you left disappointed? I'd love to know!

Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Eye Liner Review

Hey beaut's!

I absolutely love a good ole winged liner look, I basically wear winged liner everyday which means I've tried my fair share of liquid liners over the years, and it wasn't until about a year ago until I found my perfect liquid liner, don't get me wrong I have a few liners that I do love but this one in particular is so good in so many ways, so say hello to the Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Eye Liner!
I must admit when first bought Miss Sporty's Studio Lash The Miaoww Eye Liner it was on a total whim purely because it was only £2.99 and I loved the shape of it's nib, but Miss Sporty is a brand I never really buy anything from so I wasn't expecting much if I'm honest. However it turns out that I loved it and this one I'm reviewed today is the third one I've repurchased!
The Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Eye Liner has an ultra thin felt pen style applicator which is great for creating very sharp, precise lines and if you struggle with feline flicks then this eyeliner will really make things easy for you. The tiny nib works great for any detailed work and for creating very thin lines, which is nice for those days when you want a less dramatic eyeliner look or if you have small eyelids like myself, this eyeliner is great because it doesn't take up much lid space that thicker liners are prone to doing. The liner itself is very easy to use and control, the nib has a good amount of flexibility but is sturdy at the same time and applies really smoothly with no tugging at the skin or skipping which is great! The formula of the Miss Sporty liner is great, it's inky black and long lasting, it dries matte and isn't glossy at all, it doesn't smudge, run or flake throughout the day and each eyeliner pen lasts so long, I was expecting them to dry out quite quickly considering how affordable they are but the one I bought a year ago still works it's just the pigment isn't as inky black anymore.
Overall I absolutely LOVE the Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Eye Liner, the ultra fine nib creates such beautiful looking, precise liner in seconds and I think a beginner would get on really well with this style of liner too. I cant fault the formula on my eyes at all and the price is so good, if you love liquid liner and haven't tried this one beaut's then grab yourself one to try from Superdrug, I'm sure you'll love it as much as I do!

March Beauty Favourites ♥

Hey beaut's!

Its that time again.... Monthly favourites time! I cant quite believe how quick March has whizzed past, it honestly scares me that the months go by so quickly! I'm so happy it's now officially Spring though, bring on the warm sunshine, blue sky's, pretty flowers and pastel shades! Anywhoo onto what I've been loving this month beauty wise!

Firstly this month I have fallen back in love with my Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 Palette, it contains such a wearable selection of matte shades that blend and wear beautifully and for crease work these shades are amazing!

Sticking with eyeballs hehe the Soap & Glory Thick & Fast HD Mascara is my new holy grail mascara, this stuff is simply amazing! It stays on like nothing I've ever tried before, it literally doesn't smudge, flake or transfer at all throughout the entire day and I love how long, curved and voluminous it makes my eyelashes look, its incredible and if you haven't tried it yet beaut's then you NEED to! Next for eyes is the Miss Sporty Studio Lash The Miaoww Liquid Eyeliner, I picked this up on a total whim purely because it was only £2.99 and I loved the shape of it's nib, but Miss Sporty is a brand I never really buy anything from so I wasn't expecting much if I'm honest. However it turns out that I love it! It's just so easy to use and precise and the formula is so inky black and long lasting, I'm totally sold on this liner now and will definitely repurchase.

For foundation it's a no brainer for me and had to be my Revlon Colour stay Foundation for Normal to Dry Skin, to be honest I have been using this for the past few months and I seriously cant see myself changing to any other foundation any time soon because Revlon's offering is incredible! It's just so comfortable to wear because it's actually made for your skin type, the coverage is great without looking heavy, it's easy to apply and blends in a dream and the colour match for my skin tone is on point, it's just an all round really good foundation in my opinion!

For lips this month I have been switching mainly between two lipsticks, the first one is the beautiful Makeup Revolution Chauffeur Lipstick from their Rose Gold Collection, this is actually quite surprising for me because its a nude and me and nude lipsticks never usually get a long however this is the perfect shade of nude and I must say it's the only nude lipstick that I've EVER liked that doesn't wash me out! And secondly I've been obsessed with Mac's Syrup Lipstick, I've actually only had this around 3 weeks but I've been wearing it non stop! Mac decribe it as a cloudy pink shade which I think is a fair description as the pink is quite muted and yet very wearable but I also find it has some ever so slight plummy tones to it as well which I blooming love!

Lastly this month I have a hair favourite, the Fudge Urban Iced Tropical Cocktail Miracle Ends Smooth Condition & Seal (wow that's a mouthful). I use heat on my hair a lot which causes a lot of damage to the ends of my hair but this little tube of goodness has really been helping my hair so much, it conditions with Argan Oil and helps seal my split and dry ends and gives my hair a sleaker look not to mention it smells absolutely divine!

What have you been loving this month beaut's?? I'd love to know

Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen Review

Hey beaut's!

I'm pretty obsessed with liquid liner at the moment, I wont leave the house unless I have my trademark winged liner on which has led me to trying loads of different liners and I've found that the felt tip style are definitely my best friends, however I have tried my fair share of good and bad felt-tip style liquid liners but today I have an absolutely brilliant one to share with you all, the Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen* in Noir.
The Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen is by far the easiest liner I've used to date, the felt-tip nib is perfect at delivering smooth, precise lines whether you want them thick of thin, it isn't to hard or to soft, it has the right amount of flexibility to create wings/flicks with absolute ease and I would highly recommend this liner if you do struggle with creating liner flicks as the Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen makes it so easy, I certainly wish I had this when I was perfecting the art of liquid liner as it would have been so much easier for me to learn. The formula of the Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen is great... It is water-based so does come out quite wet and inky and takes a few seconds to dry and it contains special pigments that ensure long wear and keeps it's bold black colour from running. The finish of the liner is slightly shiny and still looks quite inky but personally I love that look, it isn't waterproof but once this liner sets, it does not seem to budge or transfer what so ever. My overall experience based on regular work days is it honestly doesn't budge all day and looks the same late at night as when I applied it first thing in the morning.
Overall I'm so impressed by this liner, it's everything I want and look for in a liquid liner, it's easy to use, creates wing/flicks with ease, stays put all day without fading or smudging, doesn't tug at the delicate skin around the eye area during application and the felt-tip nib is of great quality with a firm tip that doesn't fray at all. The only down side I'd say it that it is pricey at £30.00 from the Cosme-De website, but then again that's to be expected if your looking at higher end liners and I have to admit pricey or not its worth every penny because its blooming brilliant! So if your looking to treat yourself or splurge then I'd highly recommend the Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen.

Have you tried the Chanel Ecriture De Chanel Eyeliner Pen beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know!!

Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner | Review ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

You may remember that in my February Birchbox I received the Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Liner, which I think most of us girlie's received in our Birchboxes, so today I thought I'd share with you all my thoughts on it.

The Eyeko Skinny Mini Liquid Eyeliner (£9.00) is a felt-tip liquid eyeliner pen that claims to have a long-lasting, no-smudge formula which creates precise lines and is paraben free.

I must admit I do always get on well with and prefer the 'pen' style liners as I find them so easy to use and Eyeko's offering doesn't differ, the nib is quite sturdy which helps me create precise lines, thick or thin, and the shape of the nib makes creating a nice winged out look super easy, so if you struggle with winging out your liner this could be the one for you. As for the liners finish... It definitely has a semi-glossy finish, in some lights it looks more matte and then sometimes can be slightly glossy, both of which I like. The liners lasting power is also impressive, I have oily eyelids so I find that can effect some liquid liners staying power on me but Eyeko's liner honestly doesn't budge all day, there's also no claim that Eyeko's Skinny Mini Liner is waterproof but it does withstand watery eyes a treat, which is a major plus for me as whilst I've been walking around in this awful windy weather that the UK have had my eyes seem to stream.

The only downside to this product is how quick the nib drys out, I had only been using mine 2 weeks and the nib has nearly dried out completely, so I decided to turn it upside down and store it in the same pot that I store my makeup brushes in and that brought it back to life, so now I always store it upside down and it hasn't dried out since.

Overall I do really like this liquid liner, its so easy to use and creates winged out liner with ease, I love its long lasting ability and the fact it doesn't fade throughout the day, also with it being a mini liner its a nice size for storage or to pop in your bag for your day time travels!

Have you tried the Eyeko Skinny Mini Liner beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

Myself and liquid liner's have always had a love hate relationship, as much as I love the effect and the look of liquid liner I absolutely hate applying it as Ive always found it very tricky until last year when I finally mastered it, whoop whoop!!! After finally getting to grips with liquid liners I have found myself quite addicted to buying them to find the best, most easy to apply liquid liner that the high street have to offer. I'm thinking of doing a battle of the liquid liners style post soon or a best and worst but today I'm just going to share with you all my thoughts on Rimmels Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner.

The Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner features an ultra thin felt tip nib, giving you a super fine line which is great for those days when you want a less dramatic eyeliner look or if you have small eyelids like myself, this eyeliner will certainly work well and not take up so much lid space that thicker liners are prone to doing. The nib of this eyeliner is also very dense meaning its nice and sturdy giving you lots of control so you can create the perfect flick/wing. As for the eyeliners pigmentation... It's amazing, its an ultra black shade that applies completely black with one stroke, so theres no need to go over the line again and again, it also has a waterproof formula and claims to resist heat, sweat, flaking, smudging and lasts for up to 24 hours which I think is pretty fab especially in the warmer month's.

I have to admit to begin with I did find this eyeliner a little tricky to apply, as the nip is alot smaller than any of my liquid liners I wasn't used to it but after about my 3rd of 4th go I was fine, the felt tip nib was nice a sturdy upon application, I purely think it was just the smaller size nib that threw me off abit ha ha.

Overall I do really like this eyeliner, like I said before I think this will be great for anyone with smaller eyes with less lid space or even if you prefer a thinner more precise liner then this will be the for you, you aren't restricted to just having thin liner with the precision micro liner it just means building it up slightly.

Have you tried the Rimmel Scandaleyes Precision Micro Eyeliner before beaut's??? What did you think??

Autumn Eyes | Make-Up Look

Hey girlie's!!!

I thought id share with you all what will be one of my most favourite ways to do my eye makeup this Autumn. I adore my golds, browns and bronze colour's so this look will mostly consist of those pretty shades. I am getting braver when it comes to eye shadow though, and will be showing you a nice berry toned look ill be wearing too very soon.

To create this look i started off with perfecting my base...

I buffed in my 'Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation' in 100 Ivory using my 'Real Techniques Buffing Brush', i then went on to conceal my dark under eye circles and any blemishes i had with my 'Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer' in 1 fair. To set all everything into place i used my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium and finished of with a small amount of my 'MUA Blush' in Candyfloss.

I then went on to the eyes, my favourite part he he...

To create this eye makeup look i used....

The Urban Decay Naked Palette taking the shade 'Half Baked' on a fluffy blending brush and softly blending it across the lid, i then took the shade 'Smog' and blended that into the crease and slightly over the lid also, and i finished off with using 'Hustle' at the outta corner just to darken up the look slightly. I then used my 'Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner' in black to line the upper lash line and winged it out ever so slightly, nothing too dramatic though. I lined my waterline with 'Avon's SuperShock Gel Eyeliner' in black and finished of with a coat of 'Max Factor's Wild Mega Volume Mascara'. For my brows all i used was the shade 'Buck' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette just to make them appear more full.

For the lips I've kept it quite natural and just used my 'Baby Lips' tinted lip balm in 'Cherry Me', this is my favourite shade out of the collection and keeps your lips lovely and moisturised through the colder monthes preventing chapping.

I hope you liked the first of my Autumn eye looks, any feedback would be great as this is my first ever eye makeup 'look', I'm in no way a make up artist but i do try my best he he!!!

What eye shadows will you be wearing this Autumn??? I'd love to know.

Glossybox September 2013 | The London Edition

Hey girlie's!!!

So its that time again... Glossybox time!!! This month's box has a very iconic  'London' theme. The box is so snazzy with its Union Jack design and I'm glad to see they've finally given the A3 fold out paper information booklet the boot and replaced it with a smaller information card instead, they've also thrown in a glossy GB Mag for good measure too.

If I'm honest i really wasn't happy with the contense of last month's box, also to add to my disappointment my eye lash curlers arrived broken too which wasn't great. But this month Glossybox have made a winner in my eyes, i love it (big smiles). Anyway onto what's inside my box this month....

Eylure Pre-glued Lashes

I'm extremely happy too see these lashes in my box, i always struggle with applying false lashes and to be honest waiting for the glue to go tacky is just annoying and i never know when the right time to apply them is, so the fact these are pre glued and ready to go is great for me. The lashes are nice and natural looking too which is a bonus, i dont like it when they look really obvious that they are fake. This is a full set and retails for £5.06.

Toni & Guy HairMeetWardrobe Classic Shine & Gloss Serum 30ml

I'm looking forward to trying this serum out, i always like receiving hair products to try. This classic shine gloss serum controls frizz and gives a lightweight shine to your locks, all you have to do is add 1 or 2 pumps of the serum to the palms of your hands and work through the lengths of your blow dried hair. It also comes in the Limited Edition Lulu packaging, how fancy. This is the full size product and retails for £7.19.

Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips 3ml

Another product I'm happy too see in my box, although i cant help but crease up at the fact its called a nipple balm he he. I tried this pretty much as soon as i saw it, it's a very thick, 100% natural , multi purpose balm, It helps heal chapped lips, burns, eczema, extreme dry skin patches and the list seems to go on and on. I'm going to purchase the full size of this as its just so versatile and i know ill use it alot. The full size of this retails for £11.50 for 15ml.

Be A Bombshell Cosmetics Onyx Eye Liner 3ml

This eyeliner looks right up my street, its a felt tip liner making it super easy to apply and create flicks/wings and the pigmentation is amazing!!! Be A Bombshell Cosmetics also claim that their Onyx liner will last you throughout your entire day no matter how hectic is it, so I'm really expecting good things from this little beauty. This is the full size and retails for around £8.92.

Elizabeth Arden Untold 5ml

Usually i cant stand perfume samples in beauty boxes however... This is alot larger than the usual sample size we get so that makes it a little better for me, also the little bottle its just so cute and great to pop in your handbag to use on the go. The scent itself i actually really like, its quite sweet but theres definitely a hint of floral in there, its a really sophisticated scent too. The full size of 50ml is £48 or you can get 100ml for £69.

Overall i am super happy with what i got in this month's box, i know I'm gonna use every single thing in this box for sure.

What do you think of this month's box???
