Creating A Gallery Wall In 3 Easy Steps!

Hey beaut's!

I've wanted to create a gallery wall in my house for a long time now, they've really become popular and the more I ooohh and arrrhhh over shots of other peoples beautiful gallery walls the more it made me want one of my own, and with the help of Desenio I finally have my very own gallery wall...and wow, I'm in love! For me gallery walls not only add a bit of style and character but it works wonders and add life to a blank wall, and after I whacked our prints up (well my boyfriend done it but ya know) I couldn't believe I'd left such a big space blank for such a long time! It's actually really addictive too, now I feel like I need a gallery wall or prints in every room of my house! Anyway...today I thought I'd share a couple of tips I picked up along the way whilst creating our gallery wall, I hope they help!
Choose Your Layout - This was the thing I found the hardest about creating a gallery wall, the layout! To begin with I had no idea how many pictures I wanted to go for or how many different sizes of prints I wanted to include but that's where Desenio's amazing templates come in! I designed my gallery wall using Desenio's 'create your gallery wall' tab. You simply select your background - this could be your lounge, kitchen etc - it then brings up loads of different templates to choose from, you then scroll through the website and fill in your template with your chosen prints and keep switching until you get your gallery wall how you like it and voila, it then adds everything to your basket and you can checkout! It's so simply and easy to do and for me it was a god send, it helps massively in putting your prints on the wall too because you will already know the layout.

Find Your Prints/Choose Your Theme - Desenio have thousands of prints to choose from, your literally spoilt or choice on their website, I knew my prints where going on a grey wall so I wanted to go for monochrome prints with black frames so I decided to just flick through all of Desenio's black and white prints! I love a quote so I knew I wanted a couple of those, the 'LA LUNE' picture I loved as soon as I laid eyes on it so I built my gallery wall around that print if I'm honest! You just want to take into consideration the colour of the room/wall you have and what colours you really want to add in via your prints, you want them to compliment your room/wall.

Putting Your Prints Up - If you've used Desenio's 'create your gallery wall' tab like I did then the layout/order of how your prints are going on the wall should already be decided, obviously you can switch it up and if you do decide to change the layout at the last minute the best thing to do is lay all of your prints on the floor in front of your bare wall and just switch the prints around on the floor until your layout is how you want it. I knew my 'LA LUNE' print was going pretty central so we whacked that up first and built the gallery of prints around it, I have serious OCD when it comes to my prints being evenly spaced apart and the best way we found to get every print exactly an inch apart was a pair of calipers, this made the whole process so easy and on point! Also if you have a rented home like we do and don't want to knock nails into the walls I cant recommend the Command strips enough for damage free picture hanging, we found them very easy and effective!

You can find all of the prints and frames I have featured in my post on the Desenio website.

My Favourite/Dream Bathrooms Trends!

Hey beaut's!

I think the bathroom is one room in my home that I wish I had multiples of because I have so many bathroom interior ideas, and when you only have the one bathroom it's hard to choose from all the trends that I love! We recently had our bathroom re-done in our home and I love it, I think my favourite looks and trends for UK bathrooms is quite minimal, clean looking and basic, so that's what we went for in ours, I love white and grey tones with hints of green from plants however, I thought I'd share a few other trends/ideas that I have if money and space was no object.

Free Standing Bath - I mean how beautiful are free standing baths, it's actually on my interior bucket list to one day be the proud owner of a free standing tub! I just think they look so luxurious and timeless with their roll top, gorgeous shape and most have the stunning Victorian looking feet, their just so aesthetically pleasing and whacking in a bath bomb in one of those is my idea of heaven.

Overhead Shower - Although we updated our shower when we had our bathroom done to a more modern looking one, the goal is to one day have a trendy looking overhead shower,  I'm actually sooo jealous of people who have one. I'm talking a large square one which is  actually installed and running from the ceiling, not only do they look flipping amazing but I can you just image how amazing having a shower with one would be.

Statement Tiles - Yes I'm that girl that loves a marble tile or two, I adore grey and white together so marble tiles are my idea of heaven as they look amazing on the floor as well as on the walls however...Something a little bit different for me is a delicate pink tile, if I had another bathroom I'd go for delicate pink herringbone tiles with gold hardware and maybe add touches of navy!

As Many Plants As Possible - A huge bathroom trend is to add plenty of greenery with plants whether they're real or fake and I'm totally living for it! I have a few plants in my bathroom as their perfect for adding a bit of character but they also easily fill a gap on a shelf or in a corner, I particularly like plants in the bathroom that either hang from a corner on the ceiling or trailing plants. Good plants to for - for a bathroom are Ivy, Aloe Vero, Spider Plants and Bosten Ferns.

Column Radiators - I'm so happy that column radiators are trendy again as I blooming well love them, I think the smaller they are the more gorgeous they look so a bathroom is the perfect place for a smaller column radiator. I also much prefer the look of those than a heated towel rail!

Wow this post has really made me want to get decorating again (please don't tell my boyfriend he he). What bathroom trends do you love beaut's? Do you have any of these already? I'd love to know.

Bedroom Update - Finally Buying My Dream Bed!

Hey beaut's!

When you live in a rented home theres only so much you can really do to pimp it up and make it your own! I have shared a few little decorating updates on my blog along the way - the bathroom being the latest one - but the next room we really wanted to update was our bedroom, and because we finally purchased my dream bed I just had to share it with you all as it was a complete bargain!
Last year me and my boyfriend actually took the plunge and got new wardrobes each, new bedside tables to match and got a new memory foam mattress as our old mattress had more lumps and bumps than a camel - I was so glad to see the back of that bloody thing - and the furniture was a little dated. After we made these changes I then knew I wanted a new bed,  I've always lusted after a crushed velvet bed with a huge headboard but these came with a pretty hefty price tag however... after searching for over a year - that's no exaggeration by the way - I came across my dream bed on eBay of all places!
The bed we went for was the Christina Ottoman Storage Bed Upholstered Crush Velvet in Mink, it comes in so many different colours too and was just £279.00 for a king size which is honestly amazing for this type of bed! One thing I did worry about with buying a more affordable bed was the quality, but honestly this bed is so heavy, sturdy and well made. We was actually quite shocked at just how nice the bed is and it looks and feels like it cost so much more. The ottoman storage is so handy too, we have no real built in storage in our house so I now have the perfect place to store my other bedding sets, cushions etc.
Obviously when getting a new bed you just have to get new bedding and I couldn't resist this Signature Pearl Bedding Set in White from Terrys Fabrics, the pom pom detail just had me sold from the off, I love it! They also had some Kylie Minogue Bedding on their website which is just beautiful too and is definitely on my wish list! We also got some new bed side lamps from Asda, some new crushed velvet curtains from Wilko and the scatter cushions came from good ole B&M.

We still have a few more bits and piece to add in the bedroom like some wall art, a mirror and some decorative bits so maybe I'll do another update soon! What do you think of the bed then beaut's? Do you love it as much as I do he he.

Whiffy Wax Candle & Wax Melts Review!

Hey beaut's!

If you've read my blog for a while then you'll know that I love to scent my home and recently I gave some wax melts from Whiffy Wax a whirl and couldn't believe how good they where, the scent throw was amazing, they don't break the bank and the amount of scents they have to choose from in phenomenal, even my boyfriends been loving them! Whilst browsing on the Whiffy Wax website I noticed they actually sell designer wax melts that smell like your favourite perfumes, say what!!! Obviously I had to try these ASAP along with one of their jar candles!

Their are so many perfume inspired wax melts to choose from, I opted for.....
Daisy - Marc Jacob's Daisy perfume is one of my all time favourites so I just had to try this one, its fresh and super floral and honestly it smells EXACTLY like the perfume!
Ghost - This one is inspired by Ghost The Fragrance and again smells just like perfume, it's fresh and floral with hints of vanilla and apricot which give it a slight sweet kick which I love!
Decadence - This one is inspired by Marc Jacobs Decadence perfume and having never tried that scent before I didn't know what to expect, it's quite musky and woody and I could see a lot of men liking this one!
Narcisse - Inspired by Chloe Narcisse this one is dominated by daffodils. This scent is super  feminine, sweet, and slightly fruity, I absolutely love it!.
Whiffy Wax also sell candles which come in little glass jar's which are so cute and kitch, they have five different scents to choose from within the candle range and obviously my sweet, sugar loving self got the better of me and I picked out Warm Vanilla & Demerara to try! Warm Vanilla & Demerara is made up of notes of sweet brown sugar, vanilla and musk so as you can imagine it smells good enough to eat and the scent throw is great, it fills my entire house within minutes without being overpowering or sickly, I'm obsessed! The candles are available in two sizes, 60ml which is the smallest candle and has an approximate burn time of 13 hours, and theres a larger 120ml candle which has an approximate burn time of 25 hours. The smaller candle comes in at £5.00 and the larger one is £8.00 so again these are super affordable yet amazing quality!

I seriously cant wait for the Autumn/Winter scents to be released, as you know I'm a huge Autumn/Winter lover and my candle and wax melt addiction gets even bigger then, arhh I actually cant wait!

Autumnal Interior Ideas!

Hey beaut's!

Now that we are creeping closer to October I'm getting myself into Autumn and Winter mode, I love getting my house Autumn ready, I'm talking cosy, cosy and more cosiness he he! Obviously I love to add a few Halloween themed pieces around the house but for me I love nothing more than getting those autumnal throws out and snuggling up so here's a few things I love to do in my home to make it feel more seasonal!

* Candles - I have been named the crazy candle lady many times because I'll admit I am a candle addict at this time of the year, but adding in some autumnal smelling candles to your home not only makes it smell incredible but it will instantly have that warm, cosy vibe going on! Even if you pop a couple of tea lights on, dim the lights and watch a movie it makes it feel 10x more cosy having some candle light flickering away!

* Lighting - I go fairy light crazy during the autumnal months, I think just like candles they add that cosy vibe to any space. I like to drape them anywhere and everywhere really, they work really well intertwined through ornaments on shelves, on book cases and even along the head board of your bed. I also have a few light-up ornaments that I like to dot around the house which add a real autumnal, cosy touch too! However if your a blogger like myself then you know how much lighting is key during the Autumn/Winter months, those darker mornings/evenings and those dull autumnal days in general can make it pretty hard to get some good lighting for our snaps, I've honestly been considering one of those Skylight Windows for my spare room from Glow Glass to let plenty of light in. I'd love to know how you achieve bright pictures during the autumnal months beaut's?!

* Soft Furnishings - Throws can make any space look more inviting and warm, their multi-useful too as you can snugly up in them and get super toasty, I always add a throw to my sofa and bed during autumn/winter! Something else I love to do is to whack some autumnal bedding on the bed, I got the cutest set last year with hedgehogs and foxes which I love so much so that will be going back on soon!

Other things you can do to add an autumnal touch in your home are.....
 * Add bowls of pine cones, conkers, leaves and cinnamon sticks around the house, you can easily make these yourself pretty cheap by going outdoors and collecting some up or you can buy some autumnal potpourri from the shop!
* Adding more cushions to your lounging space can add a more cosy feel!
* Pop vases of flowers in autumn colours around your home.
* Place a autumnal wreath on your door, these can easily be made at home too.
* Add some pumpkins to your pooch way.

What autumnal changes do you make to your home beaut's? I'd love to know!

Home Improvements I Want To Make + A Few Dream Ones!

Hey beaut's!

Me and my boyfriend have been living in our little home for nearly seven years now and even though we have given all the rooms a lick of paint since living here I feel like my interior style has totally changed over the years and I have a few rooms that I'd love to re-do, so today I thought it would be nice to share the things I have planned and also a few little dream idea's which may have to just stay as dreams for now he he!

Spare Room - One of my favourite rooms in our house is actually our spare room, we completely revamped this last year and changed it from the 'junk room' to an office space! We gave the walls a lick of grey paint and bought all white furniture and it ended up looking incredible! It's made the room look so clean and crisp and somehow it makes the room look much bigger to, the only finishing touches that the room needs is some replacement aluminium windows oooohh or some of those fancy white shutters, they are so dreamy and I'd love to have them in the entire house!

Bedroom - I'm pretty happy with our bedroom, it's cream with a warm cosy vibe going on and we ended up replacing a lot of the furniture in their too last year, the only thing I'd LOVE now is one of those fabric/velvet beds with a huge headboard, I've been wanting one of those for such a long time so I think I'm going to have to sweet talk the boyfriend a bit more for one of those he he!

Kitchen - I think the biggest thing I'd love to change in our house is the kitchen, I would literally love to rip the entire thing out and start from scratch! My kitchen of dreams would have a fancy range cooker because they look epic, one of those American style double fridges which are massive - they look amazing don't they! I'd then love the room to be painted white maybe with some white tiles thrown on the walls with light grey cupboards and marble work tops, I'm talking kicthen goals right now aren't I! To complete my dream kitchen I'd love an island in the middle, I've always loved the look of those islands so I think I'd have to have one of those in my dream kitchen!

Lounge - Our lounge was given a lick of paint earlier this year and we changed our feature wall of wallpaper in their too, we also got the most amazing corner sofa and a new dining table and chairs, the only thing missing for me is a real fireplace or wood burner for the autumn/winter months! We have a fake fireplace and although it's pretty it doesn't beat the rustic look of the real thing, my Mum and Dad actually had a wood burner fitted in their lounge and it looks so nice so that's something I would like to change if I could!

Hallway - The final thing on my to-do list is the downstairs hallway that leads up the stairs and onto the landing! Again I'd love to go for grey walls but I'd love to add a botanical feel with some plants, they would have to be fake plants of course because I've killed every living plant I've ever bought, and I'd go for some prints on the walls leading up the stairs and maybe some copper decor! This is definitely something I plan on doing pretty soon so watch this space hehe!

What dream home improvements would you make if you could beaut's? I'd love to know!

The £3 Gingerbread Candle You NEED In Your Life!

Hey beaut's!

It's no secret that I'm a crazy candle lady, my house is pretty much lit up like Blackpool all year round, however during the Autumn and Winter months my addiction gets even worse and that's not only because I love that cosy feeling but because all of my favourite warm, spicy scents come back out and and I just have to have them all.

Last week my boyfriends parents went out for that day and came back with a couple of candles for me ( you see, everyone knows I'm a candle addict) one of which was in the scent Gingerbread, which I just HAD to share with you all today! This Gingerbread candle came from Home Bargains and cost a teeny tiny £3, what a bargain hey, it's in a heavy glass jar and is the same size as the large Yankee Candles so it's seriously good value considering the Yankees are about £22.00 now! When I opened the lid I was met with the most amazing, strong 'gingerbread men baking in the oven' scent, my goodness its smells incredible but the real test was when I actually burnt this, was it going to have a good scent throw seeing as it was such a bargain??? Yes is does, the scent throw is great and it's super recognisable throughout my entire house, I'm really impressed by it as I must admit I wasn't expecting anything major. If you like sweet, warming, spicy scents your going to love this and trust me your going to be craving gingerbread so badly each time you burn this!

Overall I'd say this is up there with one of my most favourite candles I've ever burnt and that's really saying something considering how many candles I go through! I'm just praying Home Bargains keep getting stock of this in up until Christmas because I need to go in there and stock up as I'm going to be so sad once this is gone, it does have a burn time of up to 95 hours but that's not enough, I need a burn time of forever ha ha.

Have you tried this candle beaut's? What did you think? I'd love to know!

Bathroom Re-Vamp ♥

Hey beaut's!

Me and my boyfriend have been living in our little home for nearly five years now and even though we decorated each room of the house when we moved in, I feel now is definitely the time to give certain rooms of the house abit of a re-vamp. Sometimes to give rooms of the house a fresher, newer feel you can feel very overwhelmed at the thought of completely redecorating as I know I always do, however I've found that adding a few new accessories can really change your desired room's appearance and actually make it look totally different like you've spent ages redecorating, when actually all you've really done is invest in some key home ware pieces.

The first room of our house we decided to give a little TLC was our bathroom, this really needed doing. I think because it's a room that gets used so much and is always steamy, damp, etc things tend to need replacing quicker, so after a lick of paint and a look at the George at Asda Shore Bathroom Range* our bathroom has been given a new lease of life ha ha.

I decided to go for quite a nautical theme featuring alot of blue and white pieces because personally that's what me and Michael like and I thought I'd share it all with you today. P.S this post is extremely picture heavy he he!

Wowza that was alot of photo's he he, I hope you like all the new editions to my bathroom beaut's, I absolutely love George at Asda for home ware, it's so affordable, great quality and all looks super nice.

What home ware bit's have you bought recently to jazz up your home?? I'd love to know beaut's!!
