Creme Egg Brownie Recipe

Hey beaut's!

Easter is creeping ever closer so I thought it was about time to do another recipe, and as you  I do love a brownie or five so I thought I'd finally try some Creme Egg brownies...ahhh give me all the Creme Eggs pleaseee! For these brownies I used my basic brownie recipe that you can mix with any chocolate chunks or sweet treat if you wish but I added those oogy gooey Creme Eggs and wow the results where immense even if I do say so myself!

What You Will Need

140g of butter

100g light brown sugar

100g caster sugar

2 eggs

2 teaspoons of vanilla extract

1/2 teaspoon of salt

115g plain flour

45g good quality cocoa powder

2 packets of mini Cadbury Creme Eggs

5-6 regular Creme Eggs

How To

1. Preheat your oven to gas mark 4 or 350°F (177°C) and line or grease your brownie tray.

2. Melt your butter carefully in the microwave then pop it into your mixing bowl, then add in the caster and brown sugar and beat together until smooth then add in the vanilla extract and the eggs and mix again until combined.

3. Once all of your wet ingredients have been well combined pop in your salt, flour and cocoa powder and mix again until smooth. Because my brownie recipe doesn't require you to melt and add in additional chocolate, I cant stress enough how important it is to use the best quality cocoa powder you can find to make a super chocolate-y brownie!

4. Once your brownie batter is well combined whack in as many mini Creme Eggs as you like, I popped in a couple whole but most of them I chopped up and stirred them through just like they where chocolate chunks, it's best to pop your Creme Eggs in the freezer before hand as it firms them up making it less messy and sticky to handle when it comes to chopping.

5. Pour the brownie mixture into your tray and bake for around 15-20 minutes, then get the tray out the oven and push your Creme Eggs halves into the top of the brownie slightly and pop it back into the oven for a further 5-10 minutes to finish the brownie off, if you like a more fudgy brownie like I do then then 5 minutes will be plenty long enough. 

6. Leave to cool completely before chopping into small or big brownies bites and voila!!!

If you love a brownie and you love a Creme Egg then you have to make these beaut's, the combination is heavenly. If you a peanut butter lover too I bet this recipe would be amazing with those Reese's Eggs you can get now, my boyfriend is after me trying that recipe next he he!

Creme Egg Cupcakes

You may already know that during Easter and the time running up to Easter I get slightly addicted to Creme Eggs, my goodness I love them, so the other day I decided to not only bake some Creme Egg Cookies (HERE) but I also baked some Creme Egg Cupcakes too that I'll be sharing with you all today and wow they are delicious!

What You Will Need

150g unsalted butter

150g caster sugar

120g self-raising flour

30g good quality cocoa powder (I used Bournville)

3 medium eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 bags of mini Creme Eggs

Sprinkles (optional)

makes 12

For The Frosting

50g unsalted butter, melted

45g good quality cocoa powder (I used Bournville)

75ml milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

450g icing sugar

How To

1. Firstly freeze 12 of your mini creme eggs for a few hours or overnight, this is a must if you want your mini creme eggs to stay in tact whilst the cupcakes bake in the oven.

2. Then pre heat your oven too 180c or gas mark 4 and line a muffin tin with paper cases of your choice, I actually got some cute yellow ones with polka dots from Poundland! 

3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together your butter and caster sugar until it's pale and creamy, then pop in your eggs and vanilla extract and mix again.

4. Once all of your wet ingredients are well combined start adding the flour and cocoa powder gradually.

5. Pop a spoonful of the cupcake batter into the bottom of each cupcake case then place one of your frozen mini Creme Eggs on it side, on top of the batter.

6. Once all your mini Creme Eggs are in place, top them off with another half a spoon of cupcake batter making sure you cover the creme egg well.

7. Pop into the oven and bake for around 20 minutes or until they are springy to the touch.

8. Once the cupcakes are completely cool it's time for the fun part, frosting and decorating. In a large bowl, beat the butter and cocoa powder together until combined, then add the milk and the vanilla and beat again until smooth. Gradually add in the icing sugar until you get your desired consistency, if you find your frosting is too runny then just add more icing sugar or if it's too thick add very small amounts of milk until your happy.

9. Once I frosted all my cupcakes (I used a star shaped nozzle and disposable piping bag for this) I finished the cupcakes off with more mini Creme Eggs on top and some sprinkles.

And there you have it, easy but very yummy Creme Egg Cupcakes! I loved making these, they where so fun to do and tasted amazing. I love the fact that you get that hidden mini creme egg inside too, nom nom nom!

Non Beauty Favourites | March

Hey girlie's!!!

You may remember back at the end of January I added a new little monthly addition to my blog in the shape of non beauty favourites, I thought as it was a new year and all the jazz I'd add something new to my blog, I'm really enjoying the new little feature and I also think it's a great way for me to look back and see what I was loving non beauty wise throughout the year.
 Anyway lets get down to business ha ha.....

Spring

Firstly, this month I've been loving the first signs of spring. We've been getting some brighter, slightly warmer days in the UK recently and I love it. I'm always out walking my pooch Alfie so to see some of the tree's blossoming and the daffodils coming out in bloom is so pretty, it's also great not having to feel freezing cold all the time too.

Hollyoaks

I've always been a massive Hollyoaks fan and I watch it everyday without fail, but how amazing has it been this year.... The story lines have been incredible, so many twists and turns and the Spring 2014 trailer that got released 2 weeks ago looked amazing!!! If you haven't seen it already then you can watch it HERE. Who else is wanting Finn to finally get his comeuppance, and whats going to happen when Joe Rosco wakes up? Will Maxine finally be able to escape from horrible Patrick? Arhhh I cant cope ha ha!  

Bastille Bad Blood Album

I love the Bastille album, it's one of those albums that's so easy to listen to no matter where you are or what your doing, my favourite songs are Flaws, What Would You Do, Things We Lost In The Fire and Oblivion.

Frozen Soundtrack 

It's no secret I love abit of Disney, I mean who doesn't? This month I've been loving Frozen and the Frozen Soundtrack, it's just so catchy and super cute. Me and the girls at work have even been playing the soundtrack there ha ha, I love Let It Go and Do You Want To Build A Snowman he he, I seem to be singing it all the time, I even wake up with the songs stuck in my head. 

Cadburys Mini Eggs

Every Easter I'm the same, I get addicted to Creme Eggs first which was last month and then I move on to Mini Eggs and this month I've been going mini egg mad, it doesn't help that I practically work next to a Poundland store that sells the big bags for £1.00 and you cant just eat 1 or 2 oh no no no, you have to eat the whole bag! Ooopsie!! 

My Little Pony PJ's

If you read my recent Primark Haul you would have noticed I picked up these cute PJ's, I absolutely love them and find myself washing them constantly so I can just keep wearing them everyday ha ha, they are so soft and comfortable, and great to lounge around in too. They definitely have to be my favourite Primark purchase so far!

Stocking Fillers | Under £10

Hey girlie's!!!

Today I'm back with some stocking filler idea's and what's best is that they are all under £10.00!!! I couldn't quite believe what cute little prezzies you can get now for under £10.00, its brilliant!!! Anyway enough of me rambling and onto the affordable goodie's ha ha...

The Body Shop Ginger Manicure & Moisture Duo £6.00
I think that The Body Shop do the most amazing gifts, they smell great, look great and most importantly the quality of the products is brilliant, and the Ginger Manicure & Moisture Duo certainly doesn't disappoint. The set includes a Ginger Hand Cream 30ml and a Nail File that has the cute ginger bread men design on it. I really don't think you can go wrong with this duo, I mean everyone needs hand cream at this time of year don't they?? 

Burgundy Mohair Mix Cable Knit Bobble Hat £5.99
I absolutely love these cute little bobble hats from New Look this year, so much so that I have actually bought myself 2 of them in different colours already ha ha. They are so soft and snugly and not itchy whilst on your head at all, and best of all they keep you nice and warm!!!

Real Techniques Setting Brush £6.99
Make-up brushes are sure to be a winner for any beauty/make-up lover, the reason I opted for the Setting Brush by Real Techniques is because I think its definitely a brush you would end up needed in your make-up brush collection but not a brush you would necessarily buy immediately yourself. The Real Techniques brushes are also amazing in quality and for £6.99 from thehut.com I think its perfect to pop in as a stocking filler.

Small Yankee Candle Jar in Red Apple Wreath £8.39
Now who wouldn't like a Yankee Candle in their stocking... I know I would!!! Red Apple Wreath is a mixture of sweet apples, cinnamon, walnuts and maple and as you can imagine it smells incredible!!! I think a candle makes a good all rounder present too, that most people would enjoy.

Cadburys Dairy Milk Winter Wonderland Chocolate Bar RRP £1.00
I couldn't do a stocking filler post without adding some chocolate, a stocking wouldn't be a stocking without some sort of sweet treat inside!!! The Cadburys Winter Wonderland Bar is the best of both worlds as its a mixture of milk chocolate and white chocolate in a cute Christmas Tree shape, yum!!!

Cath Kidson Christmas Mug RRP £6.50
How lovely is this Cath Kidson mug!!! I love Cath Kidson in general and I'm always lured in by the vintage floral designs but the Christmas mug lured me in even more. I think as the mug is Christmas themed your more likely to remember it through the years and you may cherish it that little bit more he he. I'm sure a brew tastes lovely from it too he he.

Liz Earle Christmas Star With Strengthening Nail Colour £7.50
Liz Earle have bought out some lovely gifts this Christmas and I think their Christmas Star is just lovely. You receive a gorgeous, long-lasting Strengthening Nail Colour in Moment in Time which is sure to surprise and delight, don't worry they're are other shades to choose from. The nail polish comes sweetly enclosed in a star shaped decoration with ribbon attached so you could hang it on the Christmas tree after you've opened if you wish which I think is a really nice touch.

Socks are always a winner for Christmas and I think this adorable festive themed 4 pack from New Look are great. They'll keep your tootsies warm and everyone appreciates a cute pair of Christmas socks ha ha.

Rimmel London Kate Lipsticks £5.49
If your looking for a good/affordable lipstick in the drugstore to throw in someones stocking it has to be the Rimmel London Kate Moss lippy's.... The quality of each lipstick is so good and the lasting power is phenomenal, the shade range is also lovely especially at this time of year.

A Picture Tells A Thousand Storie's #17 (Sunday Summary)

Hey girlie's!!! I hope you've all had a brilliant week! This week has been an amazing but busy week for me. On Sunday me and Michael decided to go into Norwich, we went to see Fast and Furious 6 'which is amazing by the way and my obsession with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel has grown even more haha', we also went to Frankie and Benny's for a nice 3 course meal and then sat by the river for a while and just chatted and chilled in the sun. Another reason why my weeks been so good is the weather!!! Its been gorgeous all week. Blue skies and warm sunshine makes me seriously happy and instantly puts me in a good mood. I'm also taking part in sprinkleofglitter's 30 Day Snap, the concept is to put a picture blog post up everyday in June, it doesn't have to be a full blown blog post, just a picture of something that revolved about what happened during your day, that's why you may have noticed I've been slightly on the quieter side on Instagram this week as i didn't want to keep posting the same pictures on there as I'm posting on my 30 day snap. And lastly I've been working more than usual this week due to my manager being on holiday 'think about the ££££ Hayley haha' that's whats been getting me through the days.
