April Beauty Favourites!

Hey beaut's!

April has been a pretty good month to be fair, we kicked things off with Easter where I gorged on so much chocolate until I felt rather queasy, then recently we had some pretty epic weather, I'm talking a week of bright blue skies and temperatures in the mid-high 20's, yessss...although it's kind of ironic because as I'm typing this it's absolutely peeing it down but lets forget about that for now!
This month's favourites consists of a couple of oldies but goodies and one or two new products that I've fallen in love with! Firstly I've been reaching for my Makeup Geek eye shadows constantly this past month, the top three shades have been on my eyeballs everyday and create a stunning warm toned look. The first shade In The Spotlight goes in my inner corner, the second shade Cosmopolitan goes on my lid and the third shade Cocoa Bear has been warming up my crease, arhh I love these three shades together, I've actually reviewed and swatched all three hereNext up is my Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer in Light/Medium (wow that was a mouthful), not only does this bronzer smell good enough to eat because it smells just like milk chocolate, but it's completely matte and blends like an absolute dream! I'm not a huge fan of a shimmery bronzer so as soon as I got this beauty back in March and whacked it on my face I was obsessed, I'd highly recommend it if your after a good quality matte bronzer!
Sticking with Too Faced, I bought the Hangover Replenishing Face Primer after loving a sample of the stuff, this primer is perfect for me because it really hydrates, smooths, and brightens my skin creating the perfect base for my foundation, and it doesn't have that horrible silicone feeling like some primer's I've used has! I also picked the Tanya Burr Selfie Lash Mascara up around 3 weeks ago because Superdug had reduced it to just £3.99 so in true HaySparkle tradition it went straight in my basket! I'm so glad I finally bought it because it's actually a very good mascara, it's so buildable and once it's set it doesn't budge, flake, run or transfer all day. I always find Tanya's makeup very hit and miss but this is an absolute hit from me!
Revolution's Fast Base Stick Foundation is next on my list of favourites, this is so quick and easy to use because you simply draw it all over your face then blend in with a sponge or makeup brush, and because it's so creamy it blends like a dream and super quickly! The coverage is great too and although it's super duper dewy once it's set with a powder your good to go! Finally this month I've been obsessed with bright coral nails and my Barry M Coconut Infusion Nail Paint in Flamingo is perfect for that! It really makes my nails pop and the Coconut Infusion formula is one of my all time favourites, it's nice to know your nails are getting some benefits from wearing nail polish he he.

What have you been loving this month beaut's? I'd love to know!

September Beauty Favourites

Hey beaut's!

It's monthly favourites time again.... Who's totally obsessed with all things Autumnal already? I know I am he he. These next few months coming up are my absolute favourite, I love it! Anyway before I get into my beauty favourites I have to just add in a couple of TV favourites, I don't normally do this but wow, who's been watching Doctor Foster and Liar, I'm totally addicted! I still have no idea who's lying in Liar, is she crazy and making everything up?? Is he absolutely vile?? Who knows, but I cant wait to find out!

I have been totally obsessed with my Z Palette and my Anastasia Subculture Palette recently, my Z Palette has a mix of Makeup Geek and Freedom Makeup shades and I've particularly been loving the shade Grandstand by Makeup Geek (middle, far right), it's the most stunning rose gold/copper shade with a foil finish that can be used in so many ways, I'm obsessed!
Zoella's Snow'ella Body Mist has been my favourite scent all throughout September, its so fresh, bright and clean and is amazing for everyday, casual use! Technic's Metalix Eyeshadow Cream in Taupe Be has been my go to for days when I quickly need to whack some eyeshadow on a get out the door without the need for loads of blending, it looks so stunning on the eyes and it sets really well too and doesn't budge once it's on! Tanya Burr's Peonies Please Illuminating Powder has been my total obsession since my birthday in August, it's the prettiest blush/highlight hybrid I've ever seen or used, the pinky glow is just stunning, if you haven't tried this yet then you need to beaut's! Finally for lips I've been using Revlon's Black Cherry Lipstick, although it looks super dark in the bullet it's actually a lovely berry colour perfect for Autumn, you can find my swatch of it HERE.

What have you been loving this September  beaut's?? I'd love to know!

Makeup Geek 'Grandstand' Foiled Eyeshadow Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

Back in July I got my very first Makeup Geek eye shadows and after giving them a whirl it was fair to say I got the Makeup Geek bug and was desperate to try more shades, lucky for me my best friend Kate bought me another shade for my birthday which I had been eyeing for months which was always out of stock - Grandstand!
Grandstand is actually from Makeup Geek's foil eyeshadow range and is the most stunning warm toned rose gold/copper shade, it's so versatile and can either be worn alone, with a subtle matte shade blended through the crease during the day or for an evening look I just add a dark smokey shade blended in at the outer corners, it's just so easy to wear. The foil formula has such a creamy texture and is a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow, the colour payoff and the sheen is so intense its literally like I'm wearing foil on my eyes, its absolutely stunning! I've not yet experienced any fall out from Grandstand and it picks up really well on a flat packing brush and even better on my finger and lasts all day on my eyes, the quality really is super impressive.
Overall I'm so impressed with this shade, I've been wearing it more or less everyday since I've had it and I cant see me slowing down anytime soon, it's such a perfect autumnal shade too. The quality of these foil formula's from Makeup Geek is pretty incredible and I definitely want to add more into my Z Palette now!

What are your favourite Makeup Geek shades beaut's? I'd love to know!

You can find the Makeup Geek 'Grandstand' Foiled Eyeshadow Pan for £7.95 HERE.

My First Makeup Geek Eyeshadows and Z Palette + Swatches!

Hey beaut's!

Recently I took the plunge and lost my Makeup Geek virginity, it all started after I bought my bestie some Makeup Geek eyeshadows for her birthday I instantly feel in love with the look of them, so I had to place another order on Beauty Bay pretty sharpish and treat myself to a couple of shades and of course a Z Palette to store them in!
I opted for the small Leopard Print Z Palette which holds 9 standard-sized round pans, I thought this would be the perfect size for me seeing as I'm new to Makeup Geek eyeshadows, plus its a super travel friendly size too. The shades I opted for are Cocoa Bear (£4.95) - a matte warm toned brown,  Cosmopolitan (£4.95) - a warm peachy rose gold shade with gold flecks running through it with a shimmer finish and finally I opted for In The Spotlight (£7.95) - this is a soft pink with coral undertones and because it's one of Makeup Geeks foiled eyeshadows the intensity is insane.
You may have noticed that my first Makeup Geek shadows are all different finishes, this is because I really wanted to test as many formula's out within the three shades I bought, and I have to say they've all really impressed me and I can now see what all the fuss is about. The matte shade Cocoa Bear is super pigmented, easy to blend and isn't chalky in the slightest, Cosmopolitan is the metallic shimmery shade which again is super pigmented and blended like a dream and In The Spotlight has that foil formula which has such a creamy texture and is a hybrid between a powder shadow and a cream shadow, the colour payoff and the sheen is literally like your wearing foil on your eyes, its stunning! I've not yet experienced any fall out from any of my three shades and they all picked up on my eyeshadow brushes brilliantly and lasted all day on my eyes.
Overall I'm so impressed with the three shades I bought, the quality is amazing across all formula's and dare I say I actually prefer them more than my MAC shades, it also helps that their much cheaper than MAC too making them much better value. I also love the idea of making my own palette with shades I really love and need, we've all got those eyeshadow palettes that have a few shades we never ever use which get wasted but by creating your own  palette you'll have no more unloved shades and you can have the shades in what ever order you like too.

What Makeup Geek Eyeshadows do I need to add to my palette next beaut's?
