Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

Being the huge mascara junkie that I am, today I’m massively excited to share my thoughts with you all on the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara that I've been road testing over the last couple of weeks.

Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara* (£9.99) claims to give your lashes clump-free, 360° volume, with 16 hour hold and is meant to be easy to remove so I just had to put these claims to the test. I'm just going to go straight in by saying I love this mascara and have been so impressed by it. Firstly the application process is very quick and easy, I'm guessing that's where the 1 seconde part of the title and the unique brush with spherical bristles comes in, you literally achieve instant volume and length with just one to two strokes, theres no faffing around with building up coats of the mascara for volume or length it's just instantly there which I love, and theres not a single clump in sight.
As I mentioned before the Volume 1 Seconde Mascara comes with a unique brush with plastic spherical bristles, personally I do like the brush however it is quite large and people with smaller eyes may struggle with applying the mascara without getting a blob of mascara around their eyes. I must admit the first few times I used the brush on my lower lashes I got a blob or two of mascara on my under eye area but now I've mastered the brush that doesn't happen to me anymore thank goodness.
The formula of the Volume 1 Seconde Mascara is really nice, it claims to last for up to 16 hours (The waterproof formula states 24 hours which I cannot comment on as I have not tried it) and I can say that over a 10 hour period it does stay pretty well. I experience no flaking what so ever, it stays nice and black all day but I did get some ever so slight smudging on my brow bone where my lashes obviously rubbed against my brow bone, but that wasn't instant and only seems to happen a lot later in the evening (after the 10 hours) when I've had my makeup on all day. I do have oily eyelids so I just put the slight smudging down to my eyelid primer wearing off a lot later in the day creating that slick oily feeling around my eye, I honestly think if I didn't suffer with oily eyelids there would have been no smudging what so ever because my lower lashes never smudge at all.
Overall I am really impressed with this mascara, the volume and length that I look for in a mascara is achieved with Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara and it leaves you with that instant eye-opening look. I love the fact it doesn't flake and during the day it doesn't budge on me at all, it's just a really good drug store mascara in my opinion.

Have you tried Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know!!

Phil Smith Be Gorgeous 'BIG IT UP' Review

Hey beaut's!

When it comes to my hair I'm always lusting after that big and bouncy look, thats' why I style may hair curly or wavy most of the time but even then I'm left wanting more sometimes, until now....

I've recently been road testing Phil Smith's Be Gorgeous “BIG IT UP!” Shampoo* and Conditioner* and I've been obsessed with the results that this combination leaves. Firstly I love the packaging, it's bigger than your average  bottle of shampoo and conditioner and looks so eye cathcing and professional, kind of like what you would see in a hair salon. The scent it also very salon like, it reminds me of that smell when you first walk into the hairdressers and all you can smell is gorgeous products being used, it's so nice and lingers on your hair afterwards too.

As I said before the “BIG IT UP!” (with soy proteins) range is targeted towards getting weightless body, bounce and volume into your hair so it would work perfectly for anyone with fine, flat, fly-away hair or you can use it just to perk your hair up if your feeling like it needs abit of oomph! The shampoo was really nice to use, it lathered up a nice amount but not to much which I like as I'm the sort of gal that always gets the soap suds in my eyes but this didn't happen to me with the Big It Up Shampoo, woohoo! The conditioner felt extremely creamy, luxurious and moisturising and got rid of any tangles that I may have got whilst washing my hair. After using this gorgeous combo my hair feels so soft, silky and moisturised but with a real natural bounce to it and lots of volume, and even the day after washing my hair it still has tonnes of volume, it was still manageable and didn't fall flat which I think is amazing!

My thoughts on the Volume Boosting Shampoo:
Moisturising
Professional, eye catching packaging
Smells like salon products, and the scent lingers after washing
Doesn’t over lather/was easy to rinse out
Adds heaps of volume
Worth the money
My thoughts on the Volume Boosting Conditioner:
Light, creamy consistency
Professional packaging
Moisturising
Easy to wash out
No tangles
Smells amazing
A winning combo worth the money

Overall I'm super happy at how the “BIG IT UP” Shampoo and Conditioner performed and I cant quite believe I've never tried the range before. It gives ultimate volume, glossiness, thickness and bounce and is easy to use, they are definetly a winning combination. It also gives you complete control of your hair and is so manageable. You can’t go wrong!

You can pick up the entire Phil Smith Range from Sainsburys, prices start from £3.50.

Urban Decay Supercurl Curling Mascara | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

Ive got a mascara review for you all today and my goodness its a good'un!!! I seem to have a massive mascara addiction, I just love them!!! So a big well done to my Mum for picking out this beauty for me as part of my Christmas presents ha ha. I have rather small eyes so I'm always after a mascara that will really lengthen my lashes to make my eyes appear bigger and more open, so say hello to Urban Decay's Supercurl Curling Mascara!!!

Firstly I'm just going to dive straight in and say this is actually the best mascara I've ever tried, I'm so impressed!!! The Supercurl Mascara is infused with conditioning ingredients, with Glycoprotein to help thicken lashes, Moringa Seeds to help define a curl, plus Meadow foam Seed Oil and Shea Butter to condition, smooth and nourish lashes, so as you can imagine with all of those combined it makes a pretty amazing mascara!

The applicator/wand has a plastic brush which usually I'm not a fan of as they can be very hard and scratchy upon application however... the supercurl brush is curved meaning as you apply it, it coats your lashes easily, evenly and allows you to wriggle at the root of your lashes without poking your eye out!

The lasting power of this mascara is also incredible, the curl never drops, there's never any flaking or smudging, your eyelashes never go rock hard either and my mascara always looks the same when I'm about to remove it in the evening as it did in the morning after I applied it so overall this Supercurl Mascara really does tick all the boxes for me!!!

The mascara retails for £15.00 which personally I don't think is too bad for a high end mascara, considering some drugstore mascaras can be up to £12.99 nowadays. Id certainly recommend this mascara to anyone who likes that wide eyed look or if you have a mascara addiction like me then you definitely need this bad boy in your life ha ha.

What are your favourites mascara's beaut's??? If you have any recommendations on other mascaras that give you that wide eyed looks please do let me know.

Max Factor Wild Mega Volume Mascara | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

Recently Max Factor have brought out a new mascara... say hello to 'Wild Mega Volume' ha ha. It was on an introductory offer for £4.99 which i thought was fab considering lots of their other mascara's are usually £10 plus!!!

The mascara claims to give you 3 times more volume for high impact, high drama 'look at me' lashes instantly. Id say the mascara did give me a certain amount of volume but i wouldn't say it was high impact, to me it just feels like a good general day to day mascara that gives you slight volume, that isn't clumpy and is nice and black. However the 1 thing i will say that is amazing about this mascara is its staying power, it literally doesn't smudge or flake at all and looks exactly them same at night when I'm about to cleanse as it did in the morning when it was applied, even with the hot weather we've had in the UK recently it hasn't budged, for me that's definitely a huge plus as there's nothing worse than a smudgy flaky mascara.

The brush itself is an easy to use hourglass shaped bristle brush, it allows you to really wriggle the brush at the root of your lashes without stabbing yourself in the eye like i always do with those horrible rubber/plastic brushes.

The formula is really nice, i found it applied really quickly and gave the right amount of coverage on the lashes without it being clumpy and even though this mascara doesn't give the amount of volume i was expecting i do still really like it and would re purchase.

Have you tried this mascara?? What did you think??

MUA Mega Volume Mascara | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

I'm forever trying out new mascara's, I'm slightly addicted to buying them ha ha. As I'm also a huge MUA fan i thought it was only right i tried one of their mascara's too so i opted for their 'Mega Volume Mascara In Black Waterproof' they also have a standard Black and Brown to choose from if your not a waterproof fan, i must admit i NEVER buy waterproof mascara's but for some reason i was drawn towards it so went for it.

Onto what the mascara is like... When i first opened this i was abit overwhelmed by the size of the brush, its one of those rubber style jobbie's but its massive!!! However... The brush is fabulous its got lots of teeny tiny little bristles that really grab and coat every lash and i find the brush really helps to prevent clumping as it feels likes its combing through each lash. I felt this mascara really separated my lashes and as well as volume it gave me length too which i think is great considering its doesn't state anything about it being lengthening.

The formula was nice, it didn't smudge or flake on me but that could be the waterproof  element helping me out there, it was also nice and black too. I tested the waterproof aspect of this out when i was in the shower and it didn't run or flake off at all.

Down to the dreaded removal... I always worry with waterproof mascara's that they will be a pain to get off, i used my Simple Eye Makeup Remover to remove this and it came off a treat so i guess its just down to what you use to remove it.

All in all I'm quite impressed with this considering it was another MUA bargain of just £3. The only downside to this is as you pull the mascara wand out the closure hole is very small so it scrapes alot of product off which is great for reducing clumps but no so great if you was in a rush as you do have to keep putting the wand in and out alot, other than that i really do like this mascara.

Have you tried this mascara?? What did you think??
