Vichy Dermablend Cover Matte Powder Foundation Review

If you've been reading my blog a while now you'll probably already know that I'm a huge fan of Vichy, I use their skincare products on a daily basis and even their Dermablend makeup is part of my makeup collection, so when I saw that they had added to their Dermablend range with a powder foundation I just knew I was going to have to give it a whirl!

 If your new to Dermablend, it's Vichy's award winning makeup range that conceals and treats skin concerns, from blemishes and uneven skin tone through to scaring and rosacea the range offers high coverage with a light weight feel and with the added bonus of SPF! The new Dermablend Covermatte Compact Powder Foundation* is perfect if your wanting to set your base makeup into place in a lightweight way for up to 12 hours whilst also adding full, buildable coverage and keeping oil and shine at bay throughout the day too.  

I have more combination skin these days, some areas get a little oily and some areas get a little dry so I always need to powder my skin, however I've found it really hard to find the perfect powder that sets and covers without looking cakey or over powdery on my skin until now! Honestly beaut's this powder has been a life saver for me, it never ever looks over powdery or cakey, it keeps my makeup set in place throughout a whole working day and it also adds some coverage so my skin looks pretty much pixel perfect. I also love how it never feels heavy, a lot of full coverage powders - or any powders to be honest - can go heavy or patchy but Vichy's offering never ever feels heavy on my skin and it never goes patchy either.

Overall I cant recommend this powder enough, it's honestly one of my favourite new makeup launches I've tried in a while, and I can see myself purchasing it over and over because I cant be without this beauty now! It lightly mattifies, feels smooth, never clings to my dryer areas, has great coverage, feels lightweight on my skin and keeps shine at bay, whats not to love! It's also great for travelling or popping into your handbag too because the compact has a good sized mirror and the powder flips up to reveal a handy 'on the go' sponge! I literally love this powder as much as my MAC mineralize skin finish natural, which really is saying something!

Gorgeous, Affordable Bronzer for the Summer!

Today I'm back with another Makeup Revolution related post... Yes I know I definitely have the Makeup Revolution bug that's going around the blogosphere, but I just cant help sharing how beautiful and affordable their makeup is! Today it's all about their Bronze, Shimmer, Highlight Powder*, and my goodness it's a good'un girls!

The Bronze, Shimmer, Highlight Powder is one of Makeup Revolutions many new releases and I have to say that they are certainly being very generous with this, as you get 15grams of gorgeousness, now that's one heck of alot of bronzing!

I love the design of this bronzer as you get 3 segments to play with, you get a slice of light, medium and dark bronzer making it rather universal as you can use each slice separately if you wish depending on your skin tone but I prefer to take a massive powder brush and swirl it around the bronzer picking up each shade and then bronze, bronze, bronze! The bronzer is very much on the matte side which I love however there is the odd minute shimmer here and there which is barely noticeable so there no disco ball moments thank goodness hehe. The way the bronzer looks on the skin is absolutely stunning... It isn't orange or muddy looking, its just very natural and glowy and blends beautifully whether your using it to contour or just to add some warmth to your face.

Overall I'm super impressed with this gorgeous bronzer, it is slightly too warm for me to highlight with but if you have a darker skin tone you could definitely get away with using this to highlight with too but for me it's the ultimate bronzer and a Summer makeup bag staple!

Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

I don't know about you but a setting powder is essential in my daily make up routine, however... finding the perfect one is hard, they're either too powdery where you can see visible powder on the skin, they can sometimes make your face look really flat or even cakey and generally they aren't that long lasting on me. But now all my prayers have been answered after finding this little gem, the Vichy Dermablend Setting Powder*!!!

The Vichy Dermabland Setting Powder* is an extremely finely milled powder that comes in a translucent universal shade. It's a powder than can either be used just to set your foundation into place or your entire make up routine and claims to hold your make up into place for up to 16 hours, its also water resistant and can withstand perspiration too, sounds pretty good right.

The 28g of finely milled setting powder comes in a nice sturdy plastic jar with a secure screw lid, the setting powder also comes complete with a nice little powder puff which I think is a nice little touch. The one thing I always worry about with loose powders is I can find them to be slightly messy and uncontrollable, however in the Vichy Setting Powders packaging their are only a small amount of holes for the product to come out that are clustered together meaning less chance of mess, yippee!!!

The way I like to use the setting powder is by tapping some of the powder out into the jar lid and then using either my Flat Top Kabuki style brush or my Real Techniques big powder brush to pick up the powder, I then push the powder into my skin to set all my make up into place and slightly buff over the skin too for that flawless effect, alternatively you could use the powder puff provided to push the powder over the skin and then use a brush to buff into the skin, both way work the same to be honest, its just about what works best for you and what you prefer.

The finish the powder leaves is incredible, its makes my skin look completely flawless and buffs away imperfections, with no visible shine or oiliness throughout the whole day, my foundation and make up last so much longer, it doesn't look powdery or cakey in the slightest and it makes my face feel superrrr soft. I also love the fact that as its translucent is doesn't change the shade of your foundation or any of your other base make up.

Overall I'm super impressed with Vichy Dermablend's offering and can honestly say I've never tried any setting powders before with such good results.

W7 Double Act and Africa Blush Review's

Hey girlie's!!! Whilst i was visiting my mum we decided to go and have a nosey around and went into a shop called The Factory Shop, i have no idea if this shop is just in my mums town or if its everywhere as its new to me, its sells pretty much everything but on a lower price budget which is great for me as i do love a good bargain. Whilst looking in the makeup section  i noticed a few W7 make up items and the Double Act Duo and the Africa Bronzing Powder caught my eye and for £2.99 each i thought i may as well give them a go.

Double Act Bronzer and Highlighting Powder 

Firstly, the packaging is a cute little box that holds 8 grams worth of product, it comes with a small brush which is extremely soft but i don't find it useful for the application of this product if I'm honest. Now for the product itself, the little box holds a bronzer and a blusher, it does state its a bronzer and highlighter but there is no way you could use the pinkie shade as a highlight as its just too pink. Both the bronzer and blush are packed full of little glitter particles so if you don't like a glowing finish to the skin this one probably isn't for you. This isn't the most pigmented product in the world but it is buildable for your desired affect.

There are 2 things i didn't like about this, the first being that because this is a duo i find it very difficult to pick up the product on my brush without getting both colours mixed together unless you have a tiny blush/bronzing brush which i don't, the second is that its a very powdery product so it can be a little messy and can have some fall out.

Africa Bronzing Powder

The packaging is the same as the Double Act, in a cute little box with the 8 grams of product and has the same little brush as well which like i said before I'm not a fan of. The bronzer id say actually isn't bronzer at all id say its more like a golden bronzed highlighter as it has that pearl type shine that a highlighter would give, i certainly wouldn't dream of contouring or bronzing my whole face up with this but used as a highlight its lovely. The pigmentation is quite good id say better than the Double Act's pigmentation and this actually feels more softer and less powdery than the Double Act too. The Africa Powder is definitely the winner for me out of the 2 but for its highlighting ability not as a bronzer.
