How To Get Your Beauty Blender Squeaky Clean?

Today's post is slightly different, I've previously done a post all about how to spot clean your makeup brushes but today it's all about how to get your Beauty Blenders or your Real Techniques Multi Complexion sponges squeaky clean without any hassle!

I must admit when I first got my Real Techniques Multi Complexion Sponge I loved it, it was easy to use, made my foundation look completely flawless and generally was amazing until the day came when I gave it it's first bath ha ha, it took me ages to get the little sponge clean and even after the water ran clear the sponge still had some foundation stains left that just wouldn't budge. Despite the stains I carried on using it and the same thing happened all over again when I gave it a wash, however this time around the stains got worse so I just left it in the bathroom and didn't use it for a while.

Then all my prayers where answered when I accidentally popped it into the washing machine, the sponge had somehow rolled off of my bathroom side and into the wash basket without me noticing and the next thing I knew I saw it swirling around in the washing machine, I honestly didn't think it would survive but when I eventually got it out it looked brand new, there was no makeup stains, it was all plump and in shape and it honestly looked like I had just purchased a new one!

So there you have it beaut's, if you struggle getting your beauty blenders clean pop them in the washing machine. I have been doing this for months now and mine is still as good as new, I would suggest not putting it in the wash with anything that has zips or decorative bit's on as you don't want to rip or snag the sponge, I just throw mine in with my towels and it works a treat. The best way to get your sponge dry after washing it  is either to place it on top of a towel over the radiator or just somewhere warm but airy, if the sponge is in a confined space with no air it will go mouldy so just be weary about that.
