Leighton Denny Nail Care and Polish Reviewed!

Hey beaut's!

Naturally I have super short squared off nails that are quite brittle, I'm quite heavy handed at home and at work and my nails really suffer with breakages and little nicks here and there so these Leighton Denny polishes couldn't have arrived at a better time, especially their strengthening treatment.
Leighton Denny's Rock Solid* (£12.00) is a one coat strengthening treatment for all nail types but especially for fragile, soft, sensitive nails that are prone to damage, just like mine. This lovely stuff can be used as a base coat before your normal polish or you can apply it to bare nails to start getting that growth and strength back. I always use Rock Solid as my base coat and it really does work well, it forms a protective coating that instantly bonds to the nail bed, rebuilding with fibres so that my nails look and feel strong and it creates that perfect smooth base for nail polish to sit over. I've been absolutely loving this stuff since I got it, I've noticed a huge difference in my nails since using it, their definitely not brittle or thin like they was and the ends of my nails used to be quite flimsy and bendy but now their super strong and sturdy and don't break like they used to. If your having trouble with nail breakage, weakness and lack of growth I cant recommend Rock Solid enough!
The Leighton Denny nail polish in Jail Bird* (£12.00) was totally out of my comfort zone, it's a gorgeous dark turquoise shade that has a metallic sheen finish but I never ever wear this sort of colour on my nails usually, and as much as I loved the actual shade on my nails the formula let this one down for me a little, it was so tricky to get it streak free! Don't get me wrong it was opaque after just one coat and never bubbled at all but trying to get it even without streaks got annoying after a while, but once I worked at it - it looked gorgeous and lasted well.

Overall I cant recommend the Rock Solid nail strengthening base coat enough if your've got troublesome nails that need a little TLC, but just remember if you fancy trying the shade Jail Bird it can be a streaky little bugger!

Base of the Day!

Hey beaut's!

I thought I'd do something a bit different on the blog today and share my base makeup products of the day, so instead of a face of the day post sharing me entire makeup routine this post is just going to focus on my base makeup items. Oddly I've never done anything like this on my blog before so please do tell me if you'd like to see more of these style of posts in the future!

The first thing I pop onto my skin is my Makeup Revolution Ultra Strobe Cream (review HERE), I very rarely wear a primer unless its something very dewy like L'Oreal's Lumi Magique Primer because I don't really suffer with oily skin or have problems with my makeup not lasting, however this strobe cream just creates a nice base to work on top of and creates that glow from within look which I love. For foundation I've been reaching for the Revlon Colourstay Foundation for normal/dry skin, it just has such an amazing medium to full coverage formula that's easy to blend, long lasting and super lightweight on my skin, I'd highly recommend giving this beauty a go if you haven't already!

To conceal my dreadful under eye area I've been using the Miss Sporty Perfect Stay 10 Hour Concealer in Light, I've actually been testing this out recently and really enjoy using it, the coverage isn't as high as my holy grail Collection Lasting Perfection but this does still do a good job of covering what I need for a good period of time. To set my concealer into place I've been using my Maybelline Fit Me! Pressed Powder in Classic Ivory, theres not too much to say about this as it does the same job as most pressed powders but it sets my concealer into place all day without looking powdery or cakey, I'd actually really recommend the Fit Me! range by Maybelline as everything I've tried from it has been really good!

To add some shape into my face I have been addicted to my Collection #BlushAndGlow Palette, which if you haven't tried you certainly need too. I use the matte bronzer shade to bronze up my skin and also to contour, it blends out beautifully without looking muddy or patchy and I also use the shimmering pink blusher to add a slight dewy flush to the cheeks which again blends out a dream. Lastly for my base I like to go to town with highlighting and theBalm's Mary Lou Manizer is now a must in my routine for this, it's just absolutely stunning and packs an all mighty highlighted punch he he!

What are your base makeup heroes at the moment beaut's? I'd love to know!

My Christmas Day Makeup Routine ♥

Hey beaut's!

Can you believe it's only 4 more sleeps until Christmas Day.... Say whatttttt!! So today I thought I'd just do a quick post and share with you all what makeup look I'm going to be rocking this Christmas Day, enjoy!

Face
For my base makeup I'm going to go for quite a dewy, highlighted look as this suits my dryer skin better. I'll be kicking things off with my L'Oreal Lumi Magique Primer which creates the most beautiful illuminated base to build upon, for foundation I've been loving the Collection Illuminating Touch Foundation recently so I'll be sticking with that to even everything out and add yet more glow and radiance to my skin. To contour and bronze slightly I'll be reaching for my beloved Barry M Chisel Cheeks Contour Kit, I think this is possibly the best makeup item Barry M have ever made, the bronzer is gorgeous and warmed toned with no glitter or shimmers running through it and the contour shade has a cool, grey undertone which creates such a beautiful sculpted effect, arrhhh I love it so much. And lastly for my base makeup I'll be adding yet more highlighter he he, I'm obsessed with my Makeup Revolution Radiant Light in Exhale so that will just be going along my cheeks bones and down my nose.

Eyes
For the eyes it's got to be all about festive golds and a bit of glitz for me so I'll be reaching for my trusty Urban Decay Naked Palette and popping on Half Baked on the lid, Smog on the outside corners and then a mix of Naked and Buck through the crease to blend everything out. I'll then finish of the eyes with some winged liner using my Soap & Glory Super cat Liquid Liner and a slick of Maybelline's Sensational Mascara. To add a touch more drama and extra sparkle I'll probably add a small amount of the Collection Glam Crystals Dazzling Gel Liner in Funk to my inner corners and lower lash line and my KIKO Dark Tide Eyeliner on my waterline.

Lips
Lastly for the lips it's got to be a red lip hasn't it, I don't think I've ever not worn a red lipstick on Christmas Day and this year I'll be going for my Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick by Kate Moss in the shade 01, it's the most amazing true red shade that applies smoothly and stays on a super long time.

What makeup look will you be rocking on Christmas Day beaut's! I'd love to know!
