Spooky Chocolate Skeleton Biscuits From Zoella's Cordially Invited Book!

 Hey beaut's!

When I heard that Zoella was releasing a new book all about celebrations and hosting throughout the seasons I just knew I had to buy it, as we all know Zoe always goes above and beyond for any celebration so I knew the book would be pretty epic! The book gives us all of Zoe's hints, tips, recipes, do's, donts about any occasion/season and obviously being the keen baker than I am the recipe pages called out to me first, I just had to get into the kitchen and whip up a batch of Zoe's Chocolate Skeleton Biscuits. The biscuits where really easy to make and if you don't have the book yourself but would like to make these Halloween inspired biscuits just in time for that spooky day then fear not because I've got you covered! FYI - I halved the recipe because I only wanted a small batch of the biccies but the full recipe is below!
What You Will Need
*250g butter, softened
*140 icing sugar
*1 egg yolk
*2 tsp vanilla extract
*300g plain flour
*50g cocoa powder
*1 tube of white writing icing (I actually made a batch of my own with icing sugar and water)

How To
* In a bowl, beat the butter, icing sugar, vanilla and egg yolk until creamy and well combined then sift in the cocoa powder and the flour and mix again. I did find the mixture was quite dry and crumbly for a while but stick with it because it does come together after a while and then you can bring the dough together into a ball.
* Once your mixture is formed into a ball wrap it up in some cling film and pop it into the fridge for around 30 minutes to chill. Whilst the dough is chilling it's the perfect time to get a couple of baking trays at the ready and pre heat the oven to 190/170 fan/gas mark 5.
*After 30 minutes roll out the dough between two pieces of greaseproof paper, I never usually do this when making biscuits, I usually just roll on my floured kitchen worktops but I followed the books steps and it actually made it extremely easy to roll without any dough sticking to the rolling pin or tearing.
*Once the dough is rolled out use cookie cutters to cut out your little skeleton people, I just used a gingerbread man cookie cutter for mine! Then bake for around 10 minutes!
* When your biscuits are completely cool use some white writing icing to create the bones and skeletons on the biscuits, I used a batch of my own icing I made with icing sugar and water but I did find this was a little runny and not very precise so I would recommend getting the thicker writing icing! I finished mine off with two little black ball sprinkles for the eyes and voila!

I found these biscuits so easy to make and they where so yummy and super chocolaty! Mine aren't decorated half as good as Zoe's are in the book but their rustic and I'm happy with rustic ha ha!

Have you bought Cordially Invited beaut's? Have you made or baked anything from the book yet? I'd love to know!

Tanya's Christmas Reviewed!

Hey beaut's!

When I heard Tanya Burr was releasing a new book about all things Christmas I knew it had to be mine, not only am I a lover of Tanya Burr and her other two books but my biggest love in life in Christmas, I honestly start getting excited for Christmas in August and as soon as the shops get anything Christmas related in I'm there, so I knew from the off I'd love this book.
Tanya's Christmas 'Make, Bake and Celbrate' features seven festive chapters which will have you totally covered for Christmas, from finding the perfect gift, decorating your home and hosting a party to remember, to cooking roast turkey with all the trimmings, craft projects, baking indulgent festive treats and even festive hair and make-up tips, theres literally everything in this book!
I think my favourite part of the book is definitely the recipes, theres over 50 food and drink recipes to follow from traditional Christmas Cake or Christmas Pudding to a Chocolate Orange Tear and Share Cookie and Gingerbread Cupcakes, theres so many sweet treats to make and bake. There's also quite a few savoury options including Christmas nibbles,  a breakdown of how to make the perfect 'stress free' Christmas Dinner to a yummy Boxing Day Brunch and even a New Year Ham, and what really finished off the recipes on a high note for me is that theres even a recipe for doggy biscuits which I think is so cute and I'm definitely going to be making them for my Alfie this Christmas.
I think my other favourite part of the book would have to be the crafts and DIY's, theres everything from making your own wreath, place names, Christmas cards, pot pouri, body scrub, photo album, the list literally goes on and on and most of them could be great homemade gifts too which I think is lovely! You also get an insight into Tanya's favourite Christmas films and songs, theres a Christmas quiz, Tanya's top Christmas board games and books, fashion tips, the book is literally crammed full of all things Christmas, it's amazing!
Overall if your a lover of Christmas as well as Tanya then I think you will really enjoy this book, it's made me feel so so Christmassy and I haven't been able to put the book down since I started reading it. I love how to whole idea of this book is to make your Christmas so enjoyable and to make the most out of Christmas and since reading it - it does indeed give me so many ideas, I bloody love it!

Love,Tanya By Tanya Burr | Book Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

I think it fair to say Youtubers are taking the book world by storm at the moment, it seems like every other week there's another Youtubers released/announced a book, and even though I love and watch so many Youtubers that are releasing these books I personally think they seem abit young for me and are aimed more towards the younger generation, however... When I heard Tanya Burr was releasing a book covering lifestyle, beauty and baking I knew it would be right up my street and that I would have to buy a copy, I mean beauty and baking all in one book... I'm sold!
Tanya's book 'Love, Tanya' features 12 chapters in total that range from Tanya growing up, to skincare & makeup essentials, love, life, baking and recipes, fashion, confidence and happiness and of course YouTube. Each chapter includes some beautiful photos of Tanya, and I heard that Tanya actually done all the photography on her baking a recipes chapter herself which I think is pretty cool. There's also alot of lists/notes pages where you can get involved in different chapters of the book if you wish, personally this isn't something I'm interested in doing but I can definitely see how those pages could be helpful and fun for the younger audience.
One of the main things I love about Tanya's book is that its slightly autobiographical, I've loved reading about Tanya's life from her growing up to Tanya and Jim's relationship, it's so nice to find out more things about her that we would never probably ever find out without reading it all in the book, plus I do love a good autobiography so that would always go down well with me. Another section I was pleased to see in the book was on Anxiety & Stress, suffering from Anxiety myself I found this helpful as she wrote about some good tips that I hadn't actually heard about before and will definitely be giving them a go.

Overall I do think this is a lovely book and whether you know of Tanya or not I can see this being a great read for any beauty lover that's interested in makeup, skincare, haircare etc... My favourite chapters of the book would have to be the more autobiographical chapters, the baking chapter and where Tanya covers anxiety. Without a doubt Tanya's personality that we see in her video's shines through in this book too, which I think is such a nice quality. Also how stunning does she look in all the photo's, my goodness she's a beauty!

I got my Love,Tanya Book here on Amazon for £6.49 which I think is an absolute bargain for a large, hardback book.

Have you read Tanya's Love, Tanya Book?? What did you think beaut's?? I'd love to know.

February Non Beauty Favourites ♥

Hey beaut's!

You may remember that at the beginning of last year I added a new little monthly feature to my blog in the shape of non beauty favourites, and silly me I didn't keep up with it so I thought it was about time I got back on my non beauty favourites wagon he he.

Anyway lets get down to business ha ha.....

Eastenders
I'm pretty sure every ones been glued to Eastender's recently, the 'Who Killed Lucy' storyline has been going on for nearly a year and finally during their 30th Anniversary and Live Week we found out it was..... Bobby! I have literally been saying for the last few weeks that I thought Jane was covering up for Bobby, I cant wait to see where the storyline goes from here, also who else was in complete shock when Cathy stepped out of that Black cab!!

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts
This month was a very good month indeed because my local Tesco have started selling Krispy Kreme Doughnuts! I cant tell you how many years I've actually wanted to devourer a Krispy Kreme Doughnut, so you can imagine how excited I got when the word got out that my Tesco store had started stocking them. I literally sprinted out to get my first pack and they may have been pricey but they are oh so worth it, so thank you Tesco ha ha.

Love, Tanya by Tanya Burr
If I'm being honest I'm not a huge book reader, but when I heard Tanya Burr was releasing a book covering lifestyle, beauty and baking I knew it would be right up my street and I would just have to buy a copy, I mean beauty and baking all in one book... I'm sold ha ha! So far I'm really been enjoying the book, it's definitely more suited to my age as most Youtubers bring out books that are more targeted towards the younger generation, it's been so nice to read more about Tanya's life aswell as makeup, beauty and baking too. I will be doing a full review on the book so keep your eyes peeled for that beaut's!

Breaking Bad
I know, I know I'm very late to the Breaking Bad party ha ha... Me and my boyfriend always like to have snugly nights where we watch a TV series and we usually end up staying up ridiculously late if we get hooked on them, this time around we decided to give Breaking Bad a go and yup, we are obsessed! We only started watching season one about a week ago and we have already completed that and are now half way through season 2, see I told you we are obsessed ha ha.

What have you been loving non beauty wise throughout February beaut's?? I'd love to know!!
