Beauty UK Lips Matter Velvet Matte Lip Cream Review

Hey beaut's!

Beauty UK have recently launched their new Lips Matter Velvet Matte Lip Creams and my goodness they are good. Matte liquid lipsticks have been really popular in the beauty world for quite some time now especially the higher end brands but their haven't been many available in the drugstore for us to get our hands on until quite recently, and it's nice to see that Beauty UK have jumped on board to bring us affordable yet brilliant quality lip lacquers.
Beauty UK's Lips Matter Velvet Matte Lip Creams are available in 8 shades ranging from neutrals, pinks, corals and even darker vampy reds so theres certainly a shade to suit everyone in the collection. The two shades I have are Shake Your Plum* which is my favourite and is a stunning dark purple/plum colour perfect for the Autumn and Winter months and Curious Coral* which is a bright, vibrant orange/coral perfect for more daring or for the Summer months.
The thing I love the most about these Lip Matters is the formula, it's amazing and really shocked me as I must admit I wasn't expecting too much from these. The formula is so soft and creamy which makes the application process super easy as they just glide on thr lips so smoothly and dries quickly to form a matte look without being sticky at all. Both colours I have are so pigmented too, theres no need to build up the intensity it's just there after one quick swipe. As for lasting power.... It's incredible, once you've applied these they wont be budging for quite some time trust me on that, they're actually quite a bugger to remove so I'd highly recommend these if want a lip product that lasts most of your working day, one thing I will say is when I ate the Lip Matter did fade ever so slightly just in the centre of my lips so I had to touch up that area slightly but it was nothing major. The formula also has the most gorgeous strong blueberry scent to it, it actually reminds me of those American Jolly Rancher Candy's you can get, it smells so good which makes it a delight to apply as it just smells good enough to eat.
Overall I absolutely love these and intend picking up the two red shades in the collection as they look beautiful. I'm so impressed with the formula of these and although I wont get much use out of the Curious Coral shade until the Summer months next year I know I'll be using Shake Your Plum all the time now, and they are sooo affordable at just £3.99 each which is such a crazy bargain!

Have you tried the Beauty UK Lips Matter Velvet Matte Lip Creams yet beaut's? What shade is your favourite? I'd love to know.

January Beauty Favourites ♥

Hey beaut's!

Finally I'm back doing my beauty monthly favourites!!! It's been a few months since I shared my last beauty favourites so I thought I'd get back on the bandwagon. I cant quite believe how quick January has whizzed past, it honestly scares me that the months go by so quick! Is anyone else not feeling this cold winter weather anymore? Don't get me wrong I love Autumn and the festive build up but I'm totally over winter now, bring on the Spring, warm sunshine, blue sky's ad pretty flowers ha ha.

Anywhoooo today I thought I would share with you all the makeup and beauty products that I've been loving throughout January, so here goes....

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel + Rock Star Soap
To be totally honest I've been completely obsessed with Lush for the past few months and have been using their bubble bars/bath bombs in every bath I've had, but two things I've continued to use over and over during January is their Snow Fairy Shower Gel and Rock Star Soap. The Snow Fairy Shower Gel just smells incredible, it literally fills my bathroom with its sweet, bubblegum, candy floss scent and makes my skin smell just as scrummy ha ha. The Rock Star Soap I have used soooo much but it honestly never goes down, I can see it lasting me ages, I use it mainly to soap up my legs and under my arms before shaving and it works really well and shares that same gorgeous scent as Snow Fairy. Arhh I just love them both so much.

Makeup Revolution Pro Makeup Brushes
A few weeks ago Makeup Revolution finally launched their makeup brushes, this is something I've been waiting eagerly for and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that. I've been using the brushes constantly  since I've had them and even though I do have my favourites I definitely think this is a collection most should try whether your a beginner or not. I obsessed with the Contour Brush and Stippling Brush, they are amazing and I cant seem to put them down he he. Check out my full review of the collection HERE beaut's!

Cheryl's Stormflower Eau De Parfum
I actually received the gorgeous Cheryl's Stormflower perfume for Christmas and have been using it alot ever since. The perfume itself is a perfect everyday fragrance, it's very fruity with notes of mandarin and nectarine yet it isn't overly orange-tastic as you may expect, however I do find it very tropical smelling too which I love. The bottle is also stunning and looks lovely on my dressing table. I have done a full review on Stormflower which you can find HERE.

Urban Decay Subversion Eye Lash Primer
Eye Lash Primers are something I've never ever tried before, I've just always thought they'd be pretty pointless until I received a little sample of Urban Decays Subversion Primer with my Urban Decay Perversion Mascara. I can honestly say I think I'll always use this little beauty before applying my mascara now because I find it makes such a difference, it makes my mascara go on so smoothly and makes my lashes look thicker, longer and they feel so much stronger too. I use this primer with any mascara not just the Urban Decay one that it came with, and each mascara performs so much better when I've applied the primer before hand, I'm 100% going to be buying the full size of this amazing product.

Beauty UK Glacier Gloss in Plum & Have a Go
I think the Glacier Glosses are quite new to Beauty UK but they promise a high impact shine and intense colour payoff and their certainly not wrong as I blooming love this gloss. Plum and Have a Go has literally been on my lips for most of January, it's not sticky like you would expect a gloss to be, it's super moisturising and the shade is just so pretty, all in all it's super comfortable to wear and it hasn't left my handbag for ages.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation in Fresco
I've been using my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation alot during the last couple of months and I seem to have fallen in love with it all over again. It really is a fantastic foundation, the coverage is amazing yet it still feels lightweight on the skin and it just makes my skin look perfect and  i've also noticed that it seems to prolong all of my makeup, keeping it in place all day. If you haven't tried the Double Wear foundation yet I'd urge you to do so as it's worth every penny.

Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm Superfruits
I got this Naked Lips Organic Lip Balm in my January Glossybox and have been obsessed with it ever since. The balm itself is 100% natural and packed full of oils so it has super moisturising qualities and generally makes me lips feel super smooth and nourished, it also smells incredible and tastes amazing which is an added bonus, it really reminds me of those little sweets called Love Hearts.

L'Oreal Mythic Oil
Hair oil's have never really been my thing until I tried L'Oreal's Mythic Oil, this stuff is lush. It's enriched with a special blend of avocado and grape seed oil, which seem to nourish my dry ends so much. I used 2-3 pumps of the Mythic Oil on my towel dried hair as I love to blow dry it in and then I use 1 pump on a daily basis on my dry hair, the formula just seems to spruce my hair up leaving it looking shiny, feeling nourished and supple, it seems to define my curls/waves too which I love!

What have been your favourite beauty products to use throughout January beaut's??? I'd love to know!!!

Beauty UK Halloween Makeup Must Haves!

Hey beaut's!

If you’re off to a party this Halloween or just looking to add a smoky element to your makeup look, then take a look at these makeup must haves by one of my favourite, budget, high street makeup brands Beauty UKLooking great this Halloween doesn’t have to cost a fortune as Beauty UK's makeup ranges from £2.99 to £5.99 and the great thing is, all of the products that I'm featuring in today's post can be used again and not just for Halloween, woohoo! So if you want to achieve a dark but dangerous look this Halloween and don't want to spend a fortune then check out some of these beauties....

Beauty UK Lipstick in Naughty* and Darkness* £3.49 each
Both of lipstick these shades would be perfect for Halloween, whether your going for a vampy, bright red lip or something more traditional, dark and scary looking then Beauty UK have got it covered. Both Naughty and Darkness apply beautifully, they are so creamy and super moisturising and feel very comfortable on the lips, they are both packed full of pigmentation and last on the lips hours, they are the kind of lippies that once the moisturising layer has worn off your left with a stain of colour on your lips that's gives the illusion that your still wearing lipstick which is always great!

Beauty UK Posh Palette in Galaxy £5.99
I've actually featured this Galaxy Eyeshadow Palette on my blog before (review HERE) but I just had to add it in this post as I think the shades and finishes are perfect for those Halloween smokey eyes, you could achieve countless amounts of fancy dress looks with the shades within this palette all for a small £5.99, that's about 59p per eyeshadow, BARGAIN!

Beauty UK Glacier Gloss in Plum & Have a Go* £2.99
The Glacier Glosses are quite new to Beauty UK  and promise a high impact shine and intense colour payoff and their certainly not wrong as I blooming love this gloss. Plum and Have a Go is the darkest of the 10 shades available but you could certainly get away with wearing it for everyday use during the Halloween period, in fact I'd wear it all year round however if you aren't so brave with brighter, more intense shades for everyday use this gloss would be great for nights out too.

Beauty UK NAILS Nail Polish in Black Out* £2.99
It wouldn't be a true Halloween makeup post without a classic black nail polish would it he he. Again I have featured Beauty UK's new 'Nails' Nail Polishes quite heavily on my blog before because the formula of them is simply amazing, it's just so lovely and very easy to work with, it applies smooth with no bubbling or streaking what so ever and is slightly thicker that some other nail polishes I've tried, which I automatically like because I find thicker nail polishes seem to last so well. As you can see form the swatches the Black Out shade really is full on Black and isn't dull or grey looking in the slightest. The finish of the Beauty UK nail polishes really reminds me of a gel like finish, it's lovely and glossy and feels very hard wearing just like a gel polish would, arrrhh I just love this formula, it's so amazing and really replicates high end quality.

Beauty UK 5 in 1 Base & Top Coat* £3.99
No matter what nail polish you wear you should always start with a good base coat and when using Black nail polish in particular this is an absolute essential because staining can be terrible, I'd highly recommend this 5 in 1 Base & Top Coat by Beauty UK because just like the nail polishes the formula is amazing! The Base & Top Coat is enriched with 5 different vitamins and 5 plant extracts which are proven to improve your nails conditions, not only is this a smoothing base coat and an extremely  glossy top coat but it also moisturises and hydrates, contains an advanced strengthener and has an anti-brittle treatment so overall it really works wonders for your nails and I absolutely love it!

There you have it beaut's, just a few makeup items from Beauty UK that I've been road tested and that I think are great to incorporate during the Halloween season! I also found a cheeky discount code that Beauty UK seem to be offering at the moment, you can get 25% off all products on their website using the code TrickorTreat14 at checkout (expires 31st October 2014), so if everything wasn't cheap enough now you can get save a few more pennies, whoop he he!

Have you tried any makeup by Beauty UK that you think would be great for Halloween?? I'd love to know beaut's!

Beauty UK Posh Eyeshadow Palette Review in No4 Galaxy

Hey beaut's!

Over the last couple of months Beauty UK have really been on it with their new releases, the shades all look amazing, the packaging has had a revamp, the quality of each product is great and most importantly the prices are still extremely affordable and totally budget friendly. Recently I've been trying out a few different makeup items from Beauty UK and as you probably already know I'm in love with their new Nails nail polishes, the formula is incredible and if you haven't tried them yet I'd urge you to do so as they are fabulous! Anywhoooo, today I have a review of one of Beauty UK's newest Posh Eyeshadow Palettes in the shade Galaxy.
Beauty UK's Posh Eyeshadow Palette in Galaxy* comes packaged in a fuss free, sturdy, white plastic palette that has a long mirror within the lid and a double ended applicator wand, which is ideal for any emergency touch up on the go. The palette itself contains 10 eyeshadows in total and is mostly made up of metallics and shimmers but they have also thrown in one matte shade for good measure. The shade range in the Galaxy Palette is stunning, theres a mixture of golds, bronze, purples and dark greys which I think would be perfect and best suited for evening/night out makeup looks because the palette is somewhat dark and smokey, I can definitely see that numerous killer smokey eye looks could be made from this palette that's for sure. The formula and texture of the eyeshadows within the palette is actually pretty good, they are all soft to swatch, the pigmentation is really good, the shadows are easy to work with and blend out beautifully and the colour pay off from your makeup brush to the skin is really good too. The only real downside I would say is that these shadows do tend to fall out slightly during application but it's nothing a foundation brush cant fix he he, I will just warn you that the gold shade in particular will have you looking like a disco ball throughout the day because it contains so many minute glitter particles they just work their way down you face which is never a good look so just be weary of that. As for staying power... I have no complaints at all really, they last on my lids a good 7 hours before I start to notice some fading happening and for such an affordable palette I'm not going to grumble at that at all, I do suggest using a primer if you have slightly dryer lids though.
Overall I really do like this little palette, I think it will be ideal to use for more dramatic night out looks and the shade range really is lovely, it's also really affordable too and will set you back just £5.99, that's just around 59p per eyeshadow, what a beauty bargain!!!

Whats your favourite Beauty UK purchase beaut's?? I'd love to know!

Beauty UK 'High Brow' Eyebrow Kit | Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

I seem to be obsessed with brow products at the moment, I feel like I'm forever looking for an affordable alternative to my expensive HD Brows Kit addiction and since Beauty UK's High Brow Eyebrow Kit* has been very popular amongst bloggers recently I thought I may as well give it a whirl.
Beauty UK's High Brow Eyebrow Kit contains a colourless eyebrow wax, 3 shades of eyebrow powder to suit most complexions, a double-ended applicator and the cutest mini tweezers I've ever seen and claims to give you on-trend, hi-definition brows, ooohhh. The packaging of the kit is OK, it does the job but is nothing to rave about, however it does have a handy 3 step tutorial on the back which is great for beginners, also the packaging isn't too big or too small making it perfect for travelling or carrying around on the go. Unfortunately the kit doesn't have various shades to choose from like Light, Medium or Dark instead it's a 'suit's all' kit which to be honest I do think is fairly universal.
I must admit I rarely use a brow wax through my eyebrows, I always just stick to using simple old powders or pencils so I was unsure what to expect, the wax itself really has no colour payoff, its just there to simply help prime, tame and shape any unruly brow hairs. The brow powder shade selection is actually really nice, the 3 shades go from a light, ashy brown shade with a chestnut undertone perfect for light blonde/auburn brows, a medium toned brown shade perfect for darker blonde's and light brunettes and lastly a cooled toned, dark brown that can even look black in certain lighting, I think that would be best used on dark brunettes or medium brunettes if used with a light hand. All of the shades within this little kit have a good amount of pigment but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are amazing, they are nice and soft to swatch and do blend through the brows a treat.
The way I like to use the kit personally is by using my Nanshy Angled Detailer Brush to pick up some of the wax and really shape my brows into place, the wax helps tame those pesky brow hair's that like to stick out and acts like a nice brow primer giving the brow powder something to stick too and really does help with lasting power too, I then take small amounts of the brow powder ( I mix the light and medium brown shade's together ) on the same brush and using a light hand I fill my brows in as usual, I find by using the wax and the powder together it creates perfect, defined, natural shaped brows that stay in place all day, I love it!

I also love that Beauty UK added the two little extras in the shape of a double-ended brush and tweezers as it really does complete the kit, I must admit I haven't used the little brush applicator in the kit as of yet as I like to use a brow brush with a longer handle for better precision but it does feel OK in quality. I LOVE the little tweezers, they are so handy and great at getting those hard to reach brow hairs, genius!

Overall I do really like this kit and I can now see why it's been hyped up so much recently as the quality really is very good, it's also an absolute bargain at just £3.99 which I think is amazing when you consider how much your getting for your money.

Have you tried the Beauty UK High Brow Eyebrow Kit yet beaut's?? I'd love to know what you thought.

Amazing Beauty UK Nail Polishes!

 Hey beaut's!

You may remember a while back I popped a fun little post up called Guess the Polish, where I reviewed a mystery bottle of nail polish and you beauties had to guess the brand it was and if you guessed correctly you got put into a draw to win a bottle of the polish for yourselves, well that mystery brand of nail polish in question was Beauty UK and if you read that post you will know I fell in love with the formula, so today I thought I'd review 3 more shades that I've been trying out.
I must admit Beauty UK aren't usually a brand I go straight towards in Superdrug, I honestly don't know why because I've been road testing alot of their makeup and nail polishes recently and the brand is actually very good and so affordable. The one thing that has really knocked my socks off is their NEW flagship Nails collection. The collection contains 22 different statement shades ranging from nudes, pastels, brights and even deeper shades that all have a quick drying, high gloss, long wearing formula and as you will know if you saw my previous review of Coral Burst I absolutely loved the formula.
The 3 shades that I have to share with you all today are Pink Pop*, Tealed with a Kiss* and Ultra Violet*, I mean just look how stunning and fun those shades are for Summer! As I said before it's not just the shades I love about these nail polishes its also the formula, it's just so lovely and very easy to work with, it applies smooth with no bubbling or streaking what so ever and is slightly thicker that some other nail polishes I've tried, which I automatically like because I find thicker nail polishes seem to last so well. I find one coat was enough for these particular shades to be completely opaque although I always like to apply 2 coats for extra lasting power. Talking of lasting power... These little beauties last on my nails for a good 4 days and that's without a top coat which I think is amazing! The finish of the Beauty UK nail polishes really reminds me of a gel like finish, it's lovely and glossy and feels very hard wearing just like a gel polish would, arrrhh I just love this formula, it's so amazing and really replicates high end quality.
As for the packaging... Each glass bottle holds 9ml's worth of polish and is finished off with a  white rounded plastic lid that screws on tightly making it nice and secure, you will notice the bottles are very similar to Models Own. The brush doesn't differ from most nail polishes really but the bristles do cut off at a sharp, straight edge which is great for precision and the bristles do hold their shape well and don't shed at all whilst applying the polish thank goodness!

Overall I love these nail polishes from the new Beauty UK Nails Collection, their perfect for shades for the Summer months ahead and look awesome worn all together too. I really do favour the gel like formula and the fact it lasts on my nails a good 4 days is pretty impressive considering I'm a very hands on person at work and at home, definitely and 10 out of 10 polish for me, and it's so affordable at just £2.99 a bottle, woohoo!!

Have you tried the new Beauty UK Nail Polishes beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know.
