Yankee Candle Christmas Gift Set Review

As soon as Boots put their 3 for 2 Christmas shop live online and in store they do a *Star Gift* each week, this is always something big and slightly more pricey that they usually drop down to half price for a limited time and I managed to bag an absolute bargain when they put their big Yankee Candle Christmas Gift from £45 to £23! Of course being the candle addict that I am I snapped this gift set up for myself pretty quickly, but I thought I'd share with you all whats inside because it's such a great Christmas gift idea, you could even buy it to split the gifts up as a couple of stocking fillers and what not!

Within the Yankee Candle Christmas Gift Set which is exclusive to Boots theres 1 Christmas Eve Medium Jar Candle, 1 Winter Glow Small Jar Candle, 2 Cosy by the Fire Votive Candles, 2 Bundle Up Votive Candles, 1 pack of Christmas Eve Yankee Candle Tea Lights and 1 pack of Christmas Cookie Yankee Candle Tea Lights, all together these would cost a whopping £49.16 if bought separately so getting the set for £23.00 was such a steal.

The scents within this set are all what you would expect, super festive....Firstly theres Christmas Eve which not only looks very Christmasy from the jar but smells subtly of all things Christmas too, think vanilla, berries, cinnamon and nutmeg it's so lovely and not overpowering in the slightest. Winters Glow has more of an outdoors vibe, it's smells fresh and like spruce trees, it's definitely a proper festive smell. Then we have Cosy By The Fire, this one contains a warm mix of ginger, clove, and orange combined with woody notes to give the snap of a crackling fire and the comfort of a hot aromatic drink beside it, I find this one more autumnal than Christmasy but it's still nice. Bundle Up also has that outdoors vibe for me too of festive trees and freshness but theres also clean linen notes within it too which I guess is pretty apt when your 'bundled up' in layers of clothes when it's cold he he. Finally we have Christmas Cookie, this is a hugely popular scent for Yankee Candle at Christmas and rightly so because it smells gorgeous, it has a buttery rich, vanilla and sugar cookie scent which is so divine I good eat it he he, definitely the perfect candle for that person who likes sweet, sugary, food like scents.

Overall I'm so happy I picked this bundle up from Boots, it was such a bargain and even though I think it's gone back in price now I think it such a nice Christmas present for any candle or Yankee Candle addict!

Body Fantasies Review + Christmas Gift Idea

Christmas is creeping ever closer which means it's time to hit the shops and get your Christmas shopping underway, sometimes it's so hard to find a gift or stocking filler for that one person who seems to have everything but one thing that's sure to be a winner every time is a fragrance, I mean everyone loves to smell nice, right? With Body Fantasies perfume body sprays finally being available in the UK exclusively in Superdrug I thought it would be the perfect time to give them all a cheeky review, as these would make the most amazing secret Santa gifts or stocking stuffers for that beauty lover in your life!

The Body Fantasies Perfume Body Sprays* are a brand new type of body spray formulated with high concentrations of perfume quality fragrance, meaning they are super long lasting but never overpowering, each bottle contains 94ml of liquid which produces over a whopping 500 sprays, each spritz creates a super fine mist which doesn't soak the skin or clothing and each bottle is relatively small in size and super convenient and would certainly fit into handbags and schoolbags very easily. 

The Body Fantasies sprays are available in four gorgeous scents so theres certainly something to suit everyone here. Firstly theres Japanese Cherry Blossom which is lovely, it's light and floral, super easy to wear, incredibly feminine and generally a joy to put on. Next up is my favourite out of the bunch Pink Vanilla Kiss Fantasy, this one is sweet, girlie and smells just like vanilla cupcakes, it honestly smells good enough to eat but please don't he he. Then theres Twilight Mist which contains notes of pure mandarin, magnolia and sandalwood creating a pretty musky scent with hints of fruitiness. Finally we have Pink Grapefruit Fantasy, this one is super fruity and smells like a real life pink grapefruit, super realistic and great for anyone who likes those zesty, fruity scents!

Overall I'm so impressed with these little beauties, they all smell incredible and you honestly would think these are perfumes and not body sprays, the lasting power is so good, I'd say a good 6 hours+ and I'm always getting whiffs of it throughout a working day, and as I said before these are really recognisable scents without being over powering! For £3.99 you seriously cant go wrong with these, what a perfect, budget friendly stocking filler!

The £2.99 MAC Soar Lip Liner Dupe!

I'm a huge lover of the trusty ole lip liner these days and when my friend Kate kindly bought me MAC's Sour Lip Liner for my birthday back in August I noticed I had a few lip liners in my current collection that matched it pretty well, but there was one liner in particular that is more or less bang on point with Soar and I just had to share it will you all today!

 That lip liner in question is Barry M's #15 Rose, Barry M's offering is a mere £2.99 and as far as lip liners go I think Barry M do a really good job, Rose is a muted mauve shade with a brownish undertone and is so velvety soft to apply whilst still being firm enough to create precise lines and the texture is stunning! MAC's Sour is again a mid-tone pinkish brown shade and as you can see by the swatches their really isn't a huge difference between Soar and Rose, I think Soar is just a smidge more on the browner undertone side of things, I would even say formula wise these two are pretty much the same although I do find Mac's offering lasts that little but longer on my lips and the Mac pencil itself is longer so you do get a bit more product with the Mac pencil but if we are comparing the shade, texture and formula they are pretty much twins.

Overall I think if your lusting after MAC's Soar but don't really want to pay the £13.00 price point then save yourself some pennies and grab Barry M's Rose for just £2.99.
