The £2.99 MAC Soar Lip Liner Dupe!

Hey beaut's!

I'm a huge lover of the trusty ole lip liner these days and when my friend Kate kindly bought me MAC's Sour Lip Liner for my birthday back in August I noticed I had a few lip liners in my current collection that matched it pretty well, but there was one liner in particular that is more or less bang on point with Soar and I just had to share it will you all today!

That lip liner in question is Barry M's #15 Rose, Barry M's offering is a mere £2.99 and as far as lip liners go I think Barry M do a really good job, Rose is a muted mauve shade with a brownish undertone and is so velvety soft to apply whilst still being firm enough to create precise lines and the texture is stunning! MAC's Sour is again a mid-tone pinkish brown shade and as you can see by the swatches their really isn't a huge difference between Soar and Rose, I think Soar is just a smidge more on the browner undertone side of things, I would even say formula wise these two are pretty much the same although I do find Mac's offering lasts that little but longer on my lips and the Mac pencil itself is longer so you do get a bit more product with the Mac pencil but if we are comparing the shade, texture and formula they are pretty much twins.
Overall I think if your lusting after MAC's Soar but don't really want to pay the £13.00 price point then save yourself some pennies and grab Barry M's Rose for just £2.99.

Have your tried either of these lip liners beaut's? What do you think? I'd love to know!

Makeup Revolution 'Mermaids Forever' Eyeshadow Palette Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

Makeup Revolution seem to be constantly on fire with their amazing new launches... Their original revolutionary priced makeup line definitely proved popular with all of us makeup and beauty lovers and since then they've just gone from strength to strength releasing lots of gorgeous new makeup for us all to feast our eyes on and drool over ha ha. This time around Makeup Revolution have created a mesmerising palette named 'Mermaids Forever*' that contains 32 ultra professional eye shadows with a colourful, aquatic, mermaid theme that will only set you back an affordable £8.00, that works out at just 25p per eyeshadow, wowza!!
The 'Mermaids Forever' palette comes packaged in a shiny blue cardboard box which really reflects the shades that can be found inside the palette. The eye shadows their selves are placed inside Makeup Revolutions classic, large, glossy style packaging which comes complete with a good sized mirror inside which is always greatly appreciated. As I said before the 'Mermaids Forever' palette contains 32 eye shadows in total with a mixture of matte, shimmer and metallic finishes and is packed full of vibrancy and colour! I love how the eyeshadow pans in the palette are laid out, as you can see the first row in the palette has four shades of pearly, creams then you have the four shades or orange to play with going from light to dark, then four shades of pink again going from light to dark and then so on with the purples, blues, greens, bronzey/browns and the palette finishes with greys and blacks.
Now I know that this palette might to be for everyone because of it's brightness and colour but personally I think 'Mermaids Forvever' is a palette everyone should own because you've got all the colours you'd ever need in one palette. You could easily create daytime looks with this palette buy adding subtle pops of colour around different area's of the eyes, something I like to do in the Summer is add some colour smudged on my lower lash line, I find it's a great way to use colour if play a bit safe with your eyeshadow like I do he he.
As always I don't really have any complaints on the eye shadow's quality, Makeup Revolution seem to make such amazing eye shadows don't they he he. Each eyeshadow within the 'Mermaids Forever' palette is packed full of pigmentation, especially the metallic/shimmer finish shadows and are all super soft to swatch, easy to work with and blend out a treat. I would suggest using the cream/ivory shades in the palette as shimmery highlights as they do appear quite sheer but work great at adding that gorgeous highlighted glow which I love. They eye shadows also last great on my oily eyelids without any creasing or fading most of the day, however I have been using Makeup Revolutions Aqua Seal-Primer as a base recently because my lids seem to get a lot more oily when the weathers warmer and more humid and it seems to work really well.
What do you think of the new Mermaids Forever palette beaut's?? I'd love to know!!

Makeup Revolution Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set Review ♥

Hey beaut's!

Back in January all of us Makeup Revolution fans where ecstatic when they launched their first makeup brush collection, it's something that we'd all been waiting for and they certainly didn't disappoint. Since then Makeup Revolution have been working hard on something else makeup brush related and it's got me very excited! Arhhh que the launch of the Makeup Revolution Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set*!
The Makeup Revolution Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set (£4.95) is the cutest little set for any makeup lovers that are on the go, the set consists of four mini brushes all of which are made from the finest, super soft, dual fibre, synthetic hair, making them work amazingly well with cream, liquid and powder makeup. The style of the Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set differs from Makeup Revolutions original line of makeup brushes and I have to say I absolutely adore the change. Instead of the all black style the mini brushes have gorgeous rose gold coloured ferrels and black glossy handles with rose gold font etched on either side of each brush, on one side is the 'Revolution' logo and on the other is what the brush is named such as the 'Mini Foundation Brush', personally I have fallen in love with this style, they are just so pretty aren't they? The mini brushes also come packaged in a handy little plastic pouch which fit's perfectly in any handbag, makeup bag or clutch bag so your brushes can go with you wherever you go without being damaged or taking up much room at all.

Onto the Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set run down...

Mini Face Brush
The Mini Face Brush is perfect for applying powder and for doing any base makeup touch ups throughout the day, it's actually my favourite brush out of the four in the set because I've found it just has so many uses and can basically do your entire base makeup if you wish. For the last couple of day's I've actually used the Mini Face Brush for applying my liquid foundation and it works amazingly well, if your anything like me and like something less dense to buff your foundation in you'll love this brush as much as I do, it's just so great! Along with foundation the Mini Face Brush can be used to contour, bronze, highlight and to apply blush, it's fair to say this is the ultimate base makeup brush for anyone on the go or on their travels.

Mini Foundation Brush
The Mini Foundation Brush is the flat style of foundation brushes which I must admit I never use for foundation, instead I find them ideal to blend in liquid or cream concealer, especially in this case with the brush being mini it fits right into the inner corners of the eye area, up underneath the lower lash line and around the nose perfectly. This brush is also a great size for highlighting the brow bone, cupids bow and down the centre of the nose, again another brush in the set that can be used in lots of different ways.

Mini Eyeshadow Brush
The Mini Eyeshadow Brush is perfect for touch ups or to reapply your eyeshadow throughout the day, it's a nice flat oval shape so it works great at packing on eyeshadow all over the lid and can also be used to apply/blend eyeshadow underneath the lower lash line.

Mini Angled Brush
And lastly we have the Mini Angled Brush which is my second favourite out of the set, it's great for applying gel liner and smudging liner out, and works well for any intricate eyeshadow work too. I've also been enjoying using the Mini Angled Brush to fill in my brows, however if you have very thin or small brows this brush might not be a thin/fine enough for you but as my brows are on the larger side the angled brush works perfectly for me.
Overall I'm so happy Makeup Revolution dived into to the depths of mini, travel friendly brushes, the quality of this set is amazing and the dual fibre bristles really help achieve that airbrush finish, since using the mini brushes I haven't experienced any shedding bristles and they all feel super soft against the skin too which is such a bonus, theres nothing worse than rough, scratchy brushes is there. You may notice that the Makeup Revolution Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set is very similar to the Real Techniques Mini Brush Trio however you get an extra brush in Makeup Revolutions offering and it's also cheaper too, I cant say whether this is a definite dupe as I don't own the Real Techniques set but theres definite potential.

What are your thoughts on Makeup Revolutions Pro Go Mini Makeup Brush Set beaut's?? Will you be buying it?? I'd love to know!
