Yankee Candle Lily Of The Valley Review - 50th Anniversary Re-Launch!

Hey beauts'!

Who would have thought Yankee Candle had been around since the Christmas of 1969??? I had no idea, shocking seeing as I'm a HUGE Yankee Candle fan and have been for as long as I can remember, but no; I had no idea! So to celebrate the momentous milestone and Yankee Candle's 50th Anniversary they are re-launching some popular classics from back in the day!

The 'Returning Classics' collection consists of seven gorgeous large jars and I've been giving one of the best sellers a whirl - Lily Of The Valley! Lily Of The Valley is described as 'like a bridal bouquet capturing traditional lily and subtle and soft green notes' which totally makes sense with the white coloured wax complementing the white and green colours of the lily of the valley flower. The candle itself has a top note of  lily of the valley, middle notes of rose and muguet and a base note of musk, making it a light floral candle with a hint of sweetness! What I love about this candle is the scent is so realistic and not fake in anyway, it honestly smells like you've walked into a secret garden full of flowers and of course lily of the valley, it's beautiful! As for the scent throw...it's very good and managed to fill the entire house very quickly and still lingered when it had been blown out, however it isn't a super strong or over powering scent which is good, and everyone that walks into my house loves the scent and instantly asks me what candle I'm burning which is always a good indication of a bloody good candle isn't it!
All of the Yankee Candle large jars have a burn time of between 110 – 150 hours and Lily Of The Valley is certainly lasting me well, I think because I find that the scent really lingers and fills the entire house I don't have to keep it alight four hours on end which is a bonus. If your into your floral candles then I cant recommend this enough, not only does it smells incredible I think it looks beautiful in the jar too! Of course if your into your sweet, fruity scents then the 'Returning Classics' collection has some of those for you to choose from as well, but Lily Of The Valley is an absolute winner in my opinion!

You can find the Lily Of The Valley Large Jar for £23.99 on Yankee Candle website.

Make My Blinds Review + Bathroom Update!

Hey beaut's!

Me and my boyfriend have been living in our little home for nearly 9 years now and even though we decorated each room of the house when we moved in and have refreshed some of the rooms along the way since,  I feel now is definitely the time to give certain rooms of the house a bit of a re-vamp again. My interior style has changed so much since we moved in, I much prefer a more fresh, clean and minimal look now, but when we moved in I was only 21 and had no idea about interiors!
The first room of our house that we decided to give some much needed TLC too was our bathroom, in fact we ended up having a whole new bathroom suite fitted and new tiles put up! We went for large rectangular white tiles with a slight bumpy effect and glossy finish to them and oh my god I love them so much, we painted the walls grey too which looks so much nicer than the garish bright blue we had!
Another major thing that has completely changed up our bathroom is a new set of blinds, I no this might sound strange because it's only a blind but our bathroom window is massive so it really makes an impact and it really has finished the bathroom off perfectly! We decided to use Make My Blinds and opted for one of their wooden blinds, Make My Blinds is the perfect place to go if your looking for new blinds because their all made to measure, all you have to do is simply measure up your window and type in the measurements when making your purchase and the blind gets delivered to your door in the correct size, it's so quick and easy, theres even handy video tutorials on the website to help you measure up correctly and 'how to' videos to help you install the blind correctly  - so everything is taken care of! The blind we opted for was the Editions Driftwood White - Wooden Blind, it has a faux grain effect running through each slat which works perfectly against the pale, white colour of the wooden blinds, and the quality is amazing too and perfect for the bathroom because it's waterproof and wipe clean. We will definitely use Make My Blinds again because of the sheer simplicity the whole experience is, we've had nightmares with blinds in the past because the fit and the size of our window, but as you can see from the picture the length and width of the blind we got is PERFECT!

I absolutely LOVE the look of my bathroom now and the blind is just so modern and clean looking, I love it! There are a few finishing touches that need to be made, the new floor still needs to go down and I have a large mirror that needs to go on the wall so maybe I'll do another update when everything is completely finished!

What I've Watched On Netflix Recently!

Hey beaut's!

I think I'm actually a little bit addicted to Netflix ya know guys and gals, I seem to be watching so many things on there recently, but I mean who doesn't love a relaxed evening (or day off lol) all cosy on the sofa filled with endless things to choose from on Netflix and plenty of sweets to gorge on...I know I do, so here's what I've competed recently!

Sex Education - Ok Sex Education did take me a couple of episodes to get into, for me it wasn't a series that grabbed me from the off but once I was a few eps in I loved it! It's all about socially awkward high school student Otis and bad girl Maeve who set up their very own sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates problems. The thing is Otis isn't exactly experienced in the lovemaking department himself, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex ed course -- by living with mum Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and conversations about sex at home, Otis becomes quite an expert on the subject and him and Maeve start earning some good money from all the advice Otis is giving. It's a funny series but serious in parts, it discusses taboo subjects and takes you on a rollar coaster of emotions, I really enjoyed it in the end!

13 Reasons Why Season 2 - Finally I got around to watching this and to be honest I think it took me a while because it can be quite intense to watch. Season 2 picks up five months after Hannah's death and at the start of students complicated journeys towards healing and recovery. Liberty High prepares to go on trial, with each episode focusing on one student at a time, but someone will stop at nothing to keep the truth surrounding Hannah's death concealed. It's quite emotional at times, and the last episode of the season was actually really brutal!

Punisher Season 2 - I absolutely LOVE the Punisher and season two for me was so much better than the first season, and that's really saying something because I loved the first season! Season two starts off with Frank Castle living a quiet life on the road until he suddenly becomes involved in the attempted murder of a young girl. As he is drawn into the mystery surrounding her and those in pursuit of the information she holds, Frank obviously attracts a new target on his back as well as an old enemy too! It's such a kick arse series, it's definitely quite gory in places, more so than season 1 but the story throughout is amazing and I love seeing the real protective side of Frank too.

Let me know if you’ve watched any of these TV shows beaut's and if you enjoyed them, also I'd love some more Netflix recommendations too!

August Non Beauty Favourites

Hey beaut's!

Can you believe I haven't done a non beauty favourites since May... I know, naughty Hayley! Anywho theres been quite a few things I've loved throughout August non beauty wise so I thought I'd share them with you all today!

Stranger Things
Firstly I have been obsessed with the Netflix series Stranger Things, I've actually finished the first season now and wow, I loved it! For those of you who haven't seen it, it's a thrilling drama which is set in 1983 where a lady named Joyce 12-year-old son goes missing, she then launches a terrifying investigation into his disappearance with the local authorities. As they search for answers, they unravel a series of extraordinary mysteries involving secret government experiments, unnerving supernatural forces, and a very unusual little girl. It has a slight goonies feel whilst also being slightly creepy but  I was absolutely hooked from the very first episode, I would highly recommend giving it a go if you haven't already!

My Birthday
It was my birthday on the 31st of August so naturally I had to include it in my favourites. I honestly had the best birthday this year even though I was dreading being another year older. I got totally spoilt by my boyfriend, friends and family and it was actually a magical day! Anddd for once it was hot and sunny on my birthday, usually it pours with rain so I was lucky this year!

The Great British Bake Off
Arhhh the bake off...How I love the bake off, it's literally one of my favourite TV shows and I'm so happy it's back! We've had cake week and biscuit week so far which where brilliant and had me drooling, I cant wait for the rest of the episodes now!

Day at the Races
My final favourite was my day at the races with my girls Amie and Kate from Kates Closet. On the 26th August we went to Newmarket race course which isn't too far from home to enjoy the races and Little Mix concert, and aside from my birthday I have to say this was one of my favourite days in August as well as this year. We had so much fun, the atmosphere was electric, Little Mix where amazing live, the weather was warm and dry and I even won £50 on my very first bet at the actual races, all in all it was an amazing day that I'll certainly treasure!

What have you been loving non beauty wise throughout August beaut's?? I'd love to know!!

The Christmas Tag!

Hey beaut's!

So today I'm back with The Christmas Tag!!! I've seen this tag floating around on numerous blogs recently and as I'm most certainly in the Christmas spirit I thought join in the fun!!! So grab yourself a hot chocolate, get comfy and lets get cracking on the questions....

1. What is your favourite Christmas film?
Arhhh this is a hard question to start with as I have so many... I always crack out Home Alone 1 & 2 first, I literally started watching them in September, yes I know it's early but I love them. I'm also obsessed with Elf it literally cracks me up every time.

2. Have you ever had a White Christmas?
Unfortunately no, it's something I've always wanted to happen on Christmas day here in the UK but so far it's never happened, it would be so magical though.

3. Where do you usually spend your Christmas?
Every year my Christmas is usually split into two, me and Michael spend half of the day at my parents and the second half at Michael's parents. It's always an amazing day that's jam packed full of food, family, fun and games.

4. What is your favourite Christmas song?
Hmmmm.... Ohhh this is hard, but I have to go with Mariah Carey All I Want For Christmas Is You!!! Closely followed by The Pogues Fairytale Of New York!!! They are both absolute tunes, but to be honest I get into most Christmas songs over the festivities.

5. Do you open any presents on Christmas Eve?
Absolutely not, that would be outrageous ha ha.

6. Can you name all of Santa’s reindeer?
Ummm..... Rudolph (obvs), Prancer, Dancer, Blitzen, Donner, Vixen?????...... Ummm nope I cant, definitely going to have to google them now.

7. What is your favourite Christmas make-up and nail art look?
At this time of year you'll always see me rocking a red or berry lip so I'll be wearing either of those on Christmas day too, as for eye makeup.... I'll go for something gold and glitzy like Urban Decays Half Baked on the lid then Smog which is a gorgeous bronze through then crease. On my nails I'll be going for Barry M's Red Glitter along with Barry M's Jingle Bells to create an accent nail, both are full on glitters and are perfect for Christmas.

8. Is your Christmas tree real or fake?
We always have a fake tree although I'd love to have a real one at some point as they look amazing and smell great!

9. What is your all-time favourite Christmas food/sweet treat?
Well I love my huge Christmas dinner, of course. But I'm a sucker for picky party food, I love it, and I usually go through 1-2 tins of Cadburys Roses or Heroes over Christmas too, oops!!!

10. Be honest: do you like giving gifts or receiving gifts better?
Of course I like receiving a present or two on Christmas Day, who doesn't?? But what I love the most is watching people open the presents I've bought them and seeing their reaction. If I did have to choose just one option I'd say giving gifts is best!

11. What is at the top of your Christmas wish-list this year?
Hmmmm I'd really like something from MAC's Christmas collection and maybe some Lush goodies too he he.

12. What would be your dream place to visit for the holiday season?
Definitely New York! For as long as I can remember Ive always wanted to go to New York at Christmas time, it just looks incredible and I bet doing your Christmas shopping there is amazing too!

13. Are you a pro-present wrapper, or do you fail miserably?
I love wrapping presents!!! I don't go too mad with fancy wrapping, I think a nice neatly wrapped present with a stick on bow attached looks nice and that's what I usually do, although if I do have any ribbon laying around I'll probably do something nice with it.

16. Do you make New Years resolutions? Do you stick to them?
I don't usually make new years resolutions as I never stick to them but I do write down some goals Id like to achieve for the year ahead.

17. What makes Christmas special for you?
I think it has to be seeing all my family and generally just having an amazing  time, where nobody is stressing or thinking about anything else apart from having fun.

I hope you all enjoyed this festive tag post and hopefully its made you even more excited for Christmas that you already are he he.

I tag you ALL to get involved and share some festive cheer! Link me in the comments if you do it beaut's!

Things I Love About Autumn! ♥

Hey beaut's!

We are nearly at the end of September which can only mean one thing... Autumn is well and truly here, and this excites me so much! So today I thought I'd put together and different post for me and my blog and just share all the things that I love about Autumn, enjoy!

Candles, Candles and more blooming Candles
At this time of the year you may as well just call me the crazy candle lady because I get obsessed, my house is already full of them he he! I just love how they make your house feel so cosy and I just love all the spicy scents as they are so warming and give that wintry feel that I love.

Gold Smokey Eyes
My Urban Decay Naked Palette literally gets used to death during Autumn and in particular the shade Half Baked, its just such a gorgeous gold that I love to use when creating a gold smokey eye.

Berry Lips
Autumnal makeup wouldn't be complete without that berry lip, I have a few berry lippies that I love for this time of the year but my favourite at the moment is my most recent purchase of Revlon's Moisture Stain in Parisian Passion, I'm wearing it HERE on Instagram and have been addicted to it.

Lush Baths
I've now kissed goodbye to having showers and said helllloooo to the bath tub again, yup bath season is back and I cant wait to stock up on lots more Lush goodies, especially the Christmas ones he he.

Crunchy Autumn Leaves
One of my most favourite things about autumn is the crunchy leaves that are all different shades of orange, I think they look super pretty and the inner child in me still loves walking through them all and kicking them everywhere when I'm walking the pooch and also picking huge handfuls up and throwing them everywhere ha ha, it's so fun and satisfying.

Hot Chocolate
I literally only drink Hot Chocolates throughout Autumn and Winter, they aren't an all year round type of drink for me so I'm super happy we are now into hot choccy season, bring on the marshmallows and whipped cream ha ha.

Snugly Jumpers, Boots, Hats and Scarves
Arhhh yes cosy clothes are my favourite, I hate summer clothes when everything is bright and in your face, give me a huge thick jumper in a burgundy hue any day.

Halloween
I get so into Halloween, I usually decorate the lounge all spooky and autumnal and me and Mike buy pumpkins to carve every year without fail, we actually went to a pumpkin patch last year which was amazing and I'd definitely recommend going if you can. I also watch Hocus Pocus over and over whilst chomping on toffee apples, arhhh I cant wait.

Twinkly Lights
I go twinkly light crazy at this time of year because I think they make a room look and feel so cosy, I literally drape them anywhere and everywhere ha ha.

Gingerbread
I love gingerbread men, I always make my own and do loads of batches over Autumn and Winter, the smell of them baking is just one of the best smells and the fact they taste amazing afterwards is just a huge bonus he he.

Movie Nights
To be honest I love movie nights all throughout the year but at this time of the year I love it even more because you can just get really cosy in your thick pj's and slippers, get all your cosy blankets out, have a hot chocolate by your side and watch loads of festive movies, and yes, I have already started watching Christmas films he he.

The feeling that Christmas is approaching
I love all things festive and the feeling that Christmas is approaching is amazing! I love it when all the shops get their gifts in and decorations, arhhh I seriously cant wait!

What are you excited for around this time of the year beaut's? I'd love to know.
