June Beauty Favourites!

Hey beaut's!

June has been a bit of a poo month really, a close family member has been poorly and it's generally been crap, but on a brighter note I'm currently on holiday from work and the weather is bloody gorgeous so theres always that! A favourite I have to add in before we get down to beauty business is Love Island, oh how I'm addicted! I actually re-watched series 1 and 2 on Netflix before series 4 started (why oh why isn't series 3 on Netflix?) and I've been hooked to series 4 ever since it came on, I must admit it has been a slightly slow start but I feel like things are really heating up this week, I also detest Adam and Meghan, ewwww!

 Firstly this month I have been loving my Urban Decay Trouble Maker Mascara again, I'm doing that thing where I'm trying to use makeup within my makeup collection before going out and buying something new, and as I'd finished my Tanya Burr mascara I decided to whack this beauty back out and I've really been loving it! It volumizes and lengthens as it separates which is just what I like and it doesn't flake or smudge on me, hurrah! 

 Scent wise this month I've been obsessed with my Zoella Gelat'Eau Body Mist, in fact I've nearly finished my bottle now! The scent of this mist is so nice for this time of the year, think slightly floral, fresh and edible (but don't actually spray it in your mouth he he) it's lush!

 My lips have been having a real dry spell recently so out came the Clarins Lip Oil to the rescue, it leaves a shiny, non-sticky finish on the lips which is so nourishing and gives my lips that dose of moisture they crave! I have a feeling I'll be buying lots of this stuff during the colder months too, I really want to try one of the tinted, scented ones next!

 Leighton Denny's Street Dance has been my go to for the last couple of months really, it has a clear base but is jam packed with all different sizes, shapes and colours of glitter, and after a couple of coats it literally takes any coloured manicure to a whole new level, it's stunning! 

 I've only just recently been using my Joan Collins lippie in the shade Bella because I had totally forgotten about it 'silly me', but I had to include it within my favourites because it looks so bloody pretty! It's a delicate peachy nude and for me it's the easiest way to switch my lip colour up for the Summer without going too bold!

 My final favourite this month is from Zoella again, it's her Shower Sauce Body Wash from the same Gelato range as the body mist above! This stuff has the same gorgeous scent as the perfume, it's so summery and lingers on my skin for hours after use, for me it smells of all things Summer within a body wash!

July Beauty Favourites!

It's monthly favourites time....I cant quite believe another month has whizzed past already, it's crazy how quick the time goes! I must admit I'm kind of over Summer now, I've never really been a Summer girl to be honest, I'm all about Autumn and Winter, how about you? 

This month I have a whole heap of new finds that have quickly turned into favourites, firstly I have to talk all about my beautiful Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette! Now I know this is a bit of cheat because I've only been using the Heat Palette for just over a week now but I couldn't not feature it because it's the best thing I've put on my eyeballs in July hands down! It's crammed full of stunning warm tones that will see me through the rest of Summer and then the Autumn and the quality is amazing, check out my first impressions and swatches HERE beaut's! For lips I've been obsessed with the Kylie Jenner Liquid Lipstick in Candy K, this is such a stand out liquid lipstick for me because it isn't super drying like the other liquid lippies I have, it lasts like nothing else - I'm talking all day through eating, drinking, kissing and the colour is the prettiest pinky nude which is right up my street. Base makeup wise the Joan Collins First Base Foundation teamed with the PUR Skin Perfecting Foundation Brush is like a match made in heaven for me. The foundation is just beautiful, it has a medium coverage, it smooths over my pores and fine lines whilst still feeling super lightweight and comfortable on my skin, it has a natural finish with a glow that never looks heavy or cakey and I've not experienced any clinging to my dry patches either, it literally perfect for me! The PUR oval brush though (insert love heart eyes emoji), it's literally the best thing I've ever blended my foundation in with, I'm talking flawless blending in about 5 seconds, it's incredible! My final favourite this month is the Rimmel #Insta Fix & Go Makeup Priming & Setting Spray, I love a good makeup spray and Rimmel's offering keeps things set and looking cake-free all day, I love it!

Joan Collins First Base Foundation and Fade To Perfect Concealer Review

It's no secret that I'm a huge Joan Collins beauty fan, I've got quite a collection of her products now all of which I'm pretty obsessed with - especially her lippies, if you haven't tried them before you definitely need too, their lush. Any who.... enough about lippies, today I'm talking all about achieving a flawless base with Joan Collins First Base Foundation and Fade To Perfect Concealer.

The Joan Collins First Base Foundation* claims to be skincare in a foundation, offering a smooth, flawless complexion with a radiant, natural finish. It contains Re-Age Complex which charges the skin with youthful energy to help increase collagen levels as well as Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and fill in fine lines, sounds pretty epic right? The formula of the foundation itself is gorgeous and I've been absolutely loving it so far, it has medium coverage that can easily be built up if needed, it smoothes over pores and fine lines whilst still feeling super lightweight and comfortable on the skin, it has a natural finish with a youthful glow that never looks heavy or cakey and I've not experienced any clinging to my dry patches either. The lasting power is pretty good on me, I get a good 8-9 hours worth or wear until I start noticing some slight wear on my chin area and it never goes oily, tacky or greasy through the day either. Also can we just appreciate how gorgeous the packaging is, the frosted glass bottle and gold accents look so sleek and chic, I love it!

The Joan Collins Fade To Perfect Concealer*  is said to be Dame Joan's magic wand, again it combines skincare with concealer, claiming to reduce dark circles, soothe irritation and calm puffiness around the eyes. What I love about this concealer is that it's super brightening, I do have the fairest shade 'Fair' which probably helps but I LOVE a bright under eye and this certainly does the trick, the light reflecting particles makes my eyes appear more awake and lifted around and not so drab and dull in the mornings . The concealer has a lovely creamy texture that's super easy to work with and blend, in terms of coverage I'd say it's medium, It's not as heavy duty as I'd like but it definitely has a certain amount of coverage there to tackle my dark under eyes.

Overall I've really been enjoying this duo, the foundation is my new favourite, it literally ticks all the boxes for me and I feel like all skin types could easily wear this beauty! The concealer is also fabulous for brightening up my eye area, and the formula is absolutely lovely! These two wont be leaving my makeup bag any time soon I can assure you!

Joan Collins Class Act Lash Growth Treatment Review

It's no secret that I'm a huge Joan Collins beauty fan, her lippies are some of my favourites and I have a few of her other makeup bits and pieces which I love too. Something I was yet to try for her was one of her treatments - her Class Act Lash Growth Treatment to be exact! I was so intrigued by this, can a product really make my lashes grow, would they look full...Time to get testing!

The Joan Collins Class Act Lash Growth Treatment* is a peptide booster containing extract of laminaria (seaweed), plvetia (sea algae) and lemon flavenoid which promotes growth and fullness. The clear gel is paraben free and suitable for all skin types and claims to give you thicker, fuller and longer lashes in just 30 days, pretty cool right! To use the gel you simply brush it onto your lashes from root to tip either in the morning as a base before you apply your mascara or you can pop it on clean lashes in the evenings before bed which is what I've been doing most days, although on the odd occasion I have worn it as a mascara base when I've forgotten to use it the night before.

So lets get down to the nitty gritty, does this actually work?? In all honestly I've found pro's and cons, I've been using the gel for a month now and to me the length of my lashes look pretty much the same as before, they might be a smidge longer but definitely nothing major has happened in the length department. However I have found that my lashes seem a lot stronger than before, usually I'd just touch my eye and lose an eyelash but since using the gel I've lost no lashes to my knowledge, woohoo. I've also noticed that a sparse area of lashes I had right in my inner corner have grown up and filled out loads and I honestly put this down to the gel, because before that area wasn't growing at all. I think if your looking to really look after and nourish your lashes this is a nice treatment to use, I'd also recommend it for sparse areas because of the improvement I've noticed however, if your thinking about getting this for length alone I'd give it a miss because as I said before I've not noticed anything in the length department.

Joan Collins I Am Woman Perfume Review

I'm a huge Joan Collins beauty fan, her lippies are some of my favourites and I have a few other makeup bits and pieces from her too which I love. One thing I was yet to try was her fragrance I Am Woman, so being the perfume addict that I am I thought it was about time a gave it a whirl. 

The Joan Collins I Am Woman Ea De Parfum* comes packaged in a gorgeous glass cut bottle which reflects the light beautifully on my dressing table, I have the 12ml sample size which is the cutest little thing I've ever seen but their are bigger size variations to choose from too, personally I love the smaller size because it fits into my bag perfectly and if your looking to just test the fragrance out it's nice that you can buy a decent size tester. The scent itself is very classy, glamorous, deep and mature with woody and musky notes really coming through on top for me, theres also a fruity element to the scent with added citrus and peach but they are only recognisable when I very first spritz this onto my skin. Below is the full list of fragrance notes -

Top - bergamot, citrus, lemon peel, orange zest, peach nectar and mandarin

Mid - rose, orange flower, jasmine, fresh greens, sweet herbal and mossy

Base - musks, vanilla, tonka, amber, cedar wood, sandalwood and patchouli

For me I Am Woman is more of an evening scent or Autumn and Winter scent, it's very warm and musky and extremely strong and super long lasting, so those of you who don't like a strong scent you will probably find this one a little too much. However if strong more woody, musky scents are your thing this will definitely tick all the boxes for you. It really is the perfect evening scent, it feels so glamorous a luxurious, just what you'd expect from Joan Collins herself hey he he!

Joan Collins Compact Duo Review

You may have seen that back in April I tried out two of Joan Collins Divine Lips lipsticks and absolutely loved them, not only was the formula lush but the shades and the packaging where EVERYTHING and it definitely made me want to try more from Joan's makeup range. 

With the festival and holiday season coming up I thought it would be the perfect time to try  out the Joan Collins Compact Duo* - this is a 3-in-1 compact contains the Meticulous Pressed Powder and mini powder puff, a Divine Lips Lipstick in your chosen shade and the luxurious gold packaging comes complete with a well sized mirror within the flip up lid. As I just said before you do get to choose your own shade of lipstick when purchasing this compact, I love this because your not stuck with any ole shade of lipstick you might not like, also if you have other Divine Lips lipsticks in your collection they will also fit within the compact meaning you can switch between shades depending what shade you go for each day, genius!

The shade of lipstick I got within my compact is Crystal, this a the perfect, true red shade which I think would suit most complexions. As for the formula...it's stunning! To be honest I knew I'd love the formula because I love my other two lippies from Joan Collins, Crystal is so rich in pigmentation and completely opaque after one swipe, its super creamy and moisturising which is down to the added hyaluronic acid which really nourishes my lips. The lasting power is really good too considering it a creamy formula with a somewhat glossy sheen finish, however once the sheen has completely worn off I am left with slight stain on my lips by I don't mind that at all. The Meticulous Pressed Powder within the palette is perfect for any of those on the go touch ups, it instantly reduces shine and mattes down any areas that are more oily than others without feeling/looking heavy or cakey, it actually feel super silky smooth on the skin too which is nice.

Overall I bloody love this compact and the concept is brilliant too, if your looking for a good quality, travel friendly lippie and powder duo this holiday or festival season then I cant recommend this Joan Collins offering enough!

Joan Collins Divine Lips Lipstick Review

I've heard so many good things about Joan Collins Beauty recently, it all looks so luxurious and glam...well I wouldn't expect anything less from Joan Collins really. Her Divine Lips lipsticks caught my eye instantly because of their stunning gold packaging and I couldn't wait to give them a whirl, I'm such a magpie for pretty packaging I tell ya!

Joan Collins Divine Lips Lipsticks come in a whopping 16 shades and I've been giving 2 a whirl in the shades Bella* and Evelyn* which are just perfect for Spring! Bella is a pretty pastel pink with cool nude undertones running through it, it's so perfect for day to day wear, and Evelyn is slightly more out there and playful being a bright coral-red, I can see this one looking perfect for evenings out or for daytime wear with stripped down makeup. Both shades are super pretty and have a super moisturising cream finish which is one of my favourite finishes.

Formula wise these are both stunning and performed a lot better than I expected if I'm honest, their really rich in pigmentation and completely opaque after one swipe, their super creamy and moisturising which is down to the added hyaluronic acid which really nourishes the lips, they didn't even dry my lips out as time went on either which is super good and definitely something I'll keep in mind for the colder months. The lasting power is really good too considering their a cream formula, I find Evelyn - the coral red shade - lasts the best on me but I think that's because it's more of an intense shade and also it leaves a slight stain on my lips as it wears so it appears to last a really long time. 

If your into your lippies or if your looking for some new shades to try for Spring I cant recommend these two from Joan Collins Beauty enough, their super pretty, have awesome pigmentation, their long lasting and they look a dream on my dressing table or when I pull them out of my handbag to use he he.
