You may remember that back in August I posted a mini Essence Haul and one of the things that I decided to pop into my basket was their Long Lasting Lipstick in the shade On The Catwalk!, I thought it would be perfect shade for Autumnal days so I just couldn't resist it.
On The Catwalk! is part of the Essence Long Lasting Lipstick Collection and is a gorgeous, easy to wear neutral berry shade, now when I say berry I don't mean vampy, it's still on the neutral side of things just with red and berry tones running through it which is why I find it so easy to wear and think it will suit most. The formula of the lipstick is amazing, it's so creamy and some what balmy in texture which leaves my lips so soft, smooth and moisturised. The pigmentation is good but it's definitely build-able and takes me around 2-3 swipes until I get my desired intensity, I actually love the fact that this is a buildable lipstick because it gives me the option to wear the lipstick more sheer or I can build it up for a more intense pop colour. The finish of On The Catwalk! actually reminds me of a Mac Cremesheen, creamy, soft and glossy looking, good for those who like to apply a lip gloss over their lipstick because this lipstick already has a slight glossy shine to it. As for it's claim of being a long lasting lipstick... Well I wouldn't say it's anything amazing but it's OK, it lasts on me a good couple of hours without drying my lips out and leaves a slight stain behind but I wasn't really blown away by the lasting power if I'm being totally honest and I would expect a bit more from a 'long lasting' lippie.
The matte black packaging is simple and sturdy and has a border of same shade as the lipstick around it, I like this as its a bit easier to find in my collection. The bullet of lipstick also has an 'e' engraved on it which is from the Essence logo which I actually like and think it looks quite snazzy and quirky.
Have you tried any of the Essence Long Lasting Lipsticks? What did you think? I'd love to know.
