Tanya Burr Lipstick in Pink Cocoa Reviewed!

I have been waiting soooooo long to try Tanya Burr's lippie in Pink Cocoa, it's forever out of stock online and my Superdrug never even stocked her lipsticks in-store, well that was until recently when they had a huge refurbishment and now stock all the makeup I could ever wish for, so when I saw they finally had Pink Cocoa in stock I snapped it up straight away.

Pink Cocoa is the most stunning shade, it's a pinky brown toned nude perfect for everyday wear but it's totally evening worthy too, it's also the kind of shade that's perfect for all seasons and would go with most makeup looks from the stripped back to the more dramatic. The formula of the lipstick itself is stunning, it has a super creamy texture which is enriched with Vitamin E and a satin finish which feels so lightweight and nourishing on the lips, perfect for anyone who has slightly drier lips like I always do, and the pigmentation is fully opaque after one swipe so theres no need to build up the intensity of colour. Staying power is pretty good too, once the lippie has been on for a good hour or so the creaminess does dry down to more of a semi matte finish but it still stays in place well without fading for a good 3 hours or so without clinging to any dry patches which is perfect for me.

Also can we just take a minute to appreciate how pretty the packaging of the lipstick is, it comes in gorgeous gold coloured metal case which feels very lux and I definitely get YSL vibes from it. It certainly looks stunning on my dressing table and when I pull it out of my makeup bag or handbag for top ups.

Overall I'm so happy I managed to pick the shade Pink Cocoa up and I'm actually pleasantly surprised at how much I love the formula, I had no idea what to expect from Tanya's lippies but the satin finish is my favourite, I'm so happy their super creamy and not drying in the slightest and the colour Pink Cocoa is absolutely stunning and something I reach for everyday! I'll definitely be treated myself to a couple of her other shades within the collection soon.

Too Faced Cat Eyes Eyeshadow Palette Review + Swatches

I absolutely love Too Faced as a brand and their eyeshadow palettes never let me down, in fact I'd go as far as saying that Too Faced eyeshadows are all time favourite shadows to use and wear, so when I won their Cat Eyes Eyeshadow Palette in a Twitter giveaway recently I was over the moon and couldn't wait to play around with the shades! 

The Too Faced Cat Eyes Eyeshadow Palette (£27.50) comes packaged in a cute leopard print tin with a mirror on the inside of the lid, I love this packaging, the tin style isn't too heavy but it's super robust and the tin is quite dinky too making it perfect for travelling, I think Too Faced get packaging so right don't they?! Within the palette are nine eyeshadows in total, three of which are larger pans and theres also six small pans, all of the shades come in a mix of matte, shimmer and glitter textures in warm and cool tones. Three of the small pan shades are actually wet-and-dry formula's, meaning you can use them wet for intense precision lining to create that perfect winged liner 'cat eye' look or you can use them dry to intensify any eyeshadow look.

What I love about the Cat Eyes Eyeshadow Palette is just how versatile, quick and easy it is, you can mix and match all of the shades to suit you or if your a bit of a beginner when it comes to eyeshadow looks the palette is actually set out it rows to help you create certain look, the top row is the Day look which is actually my everyday trio at the moment, the middle row is the Classic look and the bottom row is the Fashion look, theirs even a step-by-step guide within palette too. The formula of these shades is stunning too, the metallics are soft and buttery, the mattes are soft and not chalky at all and the pigmentation across the palette is great, I only find the shade Kitty Glitter a bit lack-luster but the rest are lovely.

Overall I'm so happy I now have the Cat Eyes palette in my makeup life, I love how easy the palette and the shades are to use and the quality is so good with each shade being super blendable and long lasting! It's also such a travel friendly eyeshadow palette too, it a got a good mix of shades for day and night time looks and the smaller size means it doesn't take up much room at all in my makeup bag, I love it!

Disappointing Elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen Review

Recently Elf launched in the UK in Superdrug, as soon as I saw the Elf stand in my local Superdrug I practically sprinted to it and had to buy something to try. Seeing as I wear liquid liner every single day without fail I thought their Waterproof Eyeliner Pen would be a good place to start!

The Elf Eyeliner Pen claims to be waterproof, smudge-proof, budge-free and long lasting whilst also offering fabulous precision, this is basically everything I look for in a liquid liner so I had high hopes for this. When I started using the Elf eyeliner pen for the very first time I loved it, the felt tip style nib was very easy to use and it was indeed precise like the claims suggest, it was a nice inky formula and not dry at all, and never dragged on my eyes during the application process and created a lovely sharp winged out liner look, so far so good. As I went about my day I noticed a few things about the liner that left me totally disappointed, firstly the claims of the liner being smudge-proof and budge-free are totally wrong in my opinion, firstly I noticed that the eyeliner had some how started transferring into my crease, this has never ever happened to me before in all the years I've worn liquid liner, I then went on to touch the wing I'd created to see if that would budge and it transferred onto my finger straight away, as you can imagine I wasn't a happy bunny. The thin line across my actual eyelid stayed in place OK but everything else was a smudgy mess. The claims of this also being waterproof are totally false too, the swatches I done on my hands actually washed away with ease and I also took some water to my eyes before removing my makeup and the liner rubbed off within a flash so it's certainly not waterproof in the slightest, you'd look like a little panda if you went into the pool or sea with this on I can assure you.

Overall, I'm so disappointed in the Elf Eyeliner Pen, it's such a shame because the nib works fantastically and the inky formula went on like a dream it's just the lasting power that's the problem, it actually feels a little bit like it never truly sets into place. It has been hot and humid in the UK recently so I don't know if that's the reason it was so smudgy but even so all of my other liquid liners I wear that aren't even waterproof never budge. If I was you beaut's I'd steer clear of this and save yourself the £3.00!
