LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks Reviewed

Hey beaut's!

I've tried a couple of LA Girl lip products in the past and loved them so when I heard that they had launched a collection of Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks not too long ago I couldn't wait to try them out and give them a whirl!
The LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks* come in a whopping 26 shades so theres certainly a shade to suit everyone in this collection, but of course I had to go for three pinky tones, I
went for Snuggle - a brown/nude with strong dusky pink tones running through it, Sweet Revenge - a bright barbie pink and lastly my favourite Hush - a gorgeous, wearable mid tone dusky pink. The formula of these lipsticks is lovely and I think the name of these describes them very well because they do have a flat, matte finish, but the texture is very velvety, smooth and creamy, making them comfortable on the lips and non-drying. Trust me beaut's if you love the look of matte lips but hate that dry feeling like I do then these LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks will be for you, they also contain shea butter which I cant quite believe seeing as they are matte lipsticks!

The lasting power of these lipsticks is OK but not as long lasting as other matte lipsticks I own, I get a good few hours wear out of them but then I need to reapply, I also find they transfer so after eating/drinking the lipstick needs to be reapplied, I think this is down to the formula being quite creamy.
Overall I do really like these LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks and would highly recommend them to anyone who loves that velvety soft matte finish without the awful dryness! I think the shade range is amazing, they are super affordable, soooo pigmented and even though they might not be the longest lasting matte lippies in the world I prefer something more creamy that I can reapply anyway so that really doesn't bother me at all.

You can find all 26 shades of the LA Girl Flat Velvet Matte Lipsticks on the Beauty Chamber  website for £4.99 each HERE.

MUA Matte Lipstick in Wild Berry & Scarlet Siren | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

As you may or may not know I'm a huge MUA Cosmetics fan, their great quality make up for teeny tiny prices always lures me in, so when i heard MUA where releasing a Matte Lipstick Collection i just knew i had to try them out.

This time around MUA have given the packaging a slight revamp by changing the standard black packaging to plain white, like the standard MUA lipsticks the matte lipsticks still come complete with the cutest little surprise at the bottom, a small twist off jar with the same matte lipstick shade inside, its a little addition I've always loved by MUA. The matte lipsticks also all have names instead of the usual shade number which again is a nice little addition to the lipstick.

The Matte Lipstick Collection consists of 5 lipstick shades from nudes to more vibrant shades with a berry shade thrown in for good measure, there's definitely a shade for everyone in the collection. I picked up 'Wild Berry' and 'Scarlet Siren' both of which i was expecting to be quite drying on the lips as they are matte lipsticks after all, however... They both feel super lightweight and don't dry my lips out at all, the texture of the lipstick on the lips obviously feels dryer than the standard MUA lipstick but then that's to be expected with matte lipsticks. The formula of the matte lipsticks in the bullet feels some what waxy and hard which did make me panic slightly about the application but no need to worry as they glide on well and don't drag on the lips at all. I have to say the staying power of these lipsticks is incredible, they last for hours and eating and drinking doesn't defeat the staying power either.

Wild Berry

The favourite out of the two MUA Matte Lipsticks i purchased is Wild Berry, it might look super scary and dark in the bullet but my goodness it looks pretty on the lips. Wild Berry is an extremely wearable plum/berry shade that you can build upon to go as dark you like depending on your skin tone and occasion, to me it's the perfect Autumn/Winter shade.

Scarlet Siren

Scarlet Siren is a highly pigmented bright cherry red shade, it really is a 'wow' kind of shade. I can see 'Scarlet Siren' looking gorgeous on a night out, as for me this is definitely an evening shade, i think it would look lovely teemed with a LBD too. Like with 'Wild Berry' you can keep building up the colour and intensify it as much as you like.

All in all i have to say MUA have triumphed yet again with another amazing new release. The matte lipsticks are wearable, buildable, long lasting, have nice pigmentation and are extremely affordable at just £1 per lippy... Yup that right one single little pound!!! I'll definitely being buying the the other three in the collection as well as they're such beauty bargains!!!

You can buy the MUA Matte Lipsticks one the MUA website in most Superdrug store's and on the Superdrug  website.

Have you tried the Matte Lipsticks??? What shades did you buy???
