AD - Summer Bedroom Inspo

Hey beaut's!

I love switching up my decor throughout the seasons, and Summer is the perfect time to get things feeling lighter and brighter, especially in the old boudoir! So with Summer in mind I thought I'd put together a little post of - mostly easy - ways to update your bedroom for the current season, I hope this gives you a little inspiration beaut's!

Use Lighter Fabrics
Firstly switch out that heavy tog duvet for something more lightweight and breathable, and it's finally time to put away those thicker throws (yes I did still use mine during Spring he he) and replace them with lighter cotton sheets or some linen. I also love keeping things quite neutral in colour when it comes to my bedding during Summer, I cant lie I'm a sucker for crisp white bedding, it gives off such a soft, delicate feel but its also so easy to jazz up with cushions and accessorises! You could also go for something more tropical with palm or leaf print bedding, this would work amazingly well in an all white bedroom, but it's just all down to your personal style really.

A New Bed
Your bed is literally the heart of your bedroom isn't it, it's your bedrooms centre piece if you will, so you really want to make a statement with your bed and if you've been longing for your dream bed and really fancy giving your bedroom a makeover...then why not treat yourself. I had always been after a grey divan bed with one of those huge fabric pin-tucked headboards, so last year me and my boyfriend saved up and bought our (my) dream bed and honestly it's the best thing I've ever done, not only for comfort purposes but the update and different feel it gives our bedroom is mega.

Introduce Colour and Pattern
One of the easiest ways to update your bedroom - or your home for that matter - throughout the seasons is by adding some colour or new patterns, this could be a fresh lick of paint by adding a feature wall to a room, this would work well on the wall where your bed's headboard is. Easier still you could just replace cushion covers and throws for lighter fabrics and add pops of colour that way, that is actually my go to 'switch-up' hack through the seasons, I do it every time and it works a treat!

Add A Floral Display
I don't know about you but when I think of Summer I immediately think of flowers in bloom, loads of colour and greenery, and adding a vase of colourful flowers onto your vanity not only gives you that summertime feeling but adds the easiest pop of colour. I also love adding little succulents and cacti on display area's or on my window-sill too.

Add Some Baskets And Natural Materials
Use some natural material baskets such as wicker or sisal to lighten and brighten your bedroom for a fresh summer feel! Baskets are just so versatile too, not only are they fabulous for storage purposes but they can be used to display new seasonal throws and pillows, and one of my favourites is to whack in a huge plant to fill out an empty corner. Also I've seen some gorgeous sisal rugs around which look lovely and for some reason give me beachy vibes, so perfect for that Summer bedroom update.

Are you thinking of giving your bedroom a little Summer update? What are you wanting to change? I'd love to know!
