Recently I've been road testing Makeup Revolutions Aqua Seal Eyelid Primer* (£3.00) so today I thought I'd finally share my thoughts on it for you all. Now when it comes to eyelid primers I'm always on the hunt for a brilliant one because I have very oily eyelids and if you are a sufferer too then you'll be feeling my pain of just how annoying it is, I've nearly tried every primer know to man from cheap ones to expensive ones and some are OK but I'm still always left wanting/expecting more so I couldn't wait to give Makeup Revolutions offering a whirl.
Their are a few things that separates your standard eyelid primer from Makeup Revolutions Aqua Seal, firstly the Aqua Seal is a dual purpose primer meaning it can be used not only to prime the eyelids to create the perfect base for your eyeshadow to sit on but it can also be used as a sealant that is applied over your eyeshadow to seal it into place keeping it protected whilst also making it waterproof, pretty amazing right? If that wasn't brilliant enough you can also use the Aqua Seal as a mixing medium, all you have to do is mix a small amount of the seal with a pure pigment eye shade and your left with a highly pigmented, impressive foil effect.
The product itself is housed in a small plastic 6g bottle (a little goes a very long way with this stuff, so dont be put of by the small bottle as you need the smallest amount for each eye) and has a small dropper style nozzle that the liquid primer dispenses from, its quite nice that it has a droplet style nozzle because it doesn't matter if you accidentally knock your bottle over during application as the most product you will lose is a small droplet and not that whole contents, so I really favour that. The formula of the primer is clear and has a watery constancy, I did think that because it was so watery that it might be hard to work with but I was pleasantly surprised, I tend to drop a droplet of the primer on the back of my hand and then use my ring finger to pick up the primer and then blend it over my eyelids sparingly.
So is this a yay or nay product when you put it to work?? Its a yayyyy woohoo! As far as primers go the Aqua Seal is a good'un, it certainly does a good job of keeping everything in place and creates a nice surface for the eye shadows to sit on top of and makes blending work very easy, as far as sealing my eye shadows into place... It works amazingly, it literally keeps everything firmly in place (even glittery loose pigments) and is great to use over your liquid liner too, no more fading liner flicks woohoo!
Below I have added a few swatch's of 2 autumnal Makeup Revolution Mono Eye shadows ( £1.00 each) in the shades Cappuccino* and I Want U* and 2 autumnal Makeup Revolution Pure Pigments (£1.00 each) in the shades Confront* and Agonise* all using the Aqua Seal, don't they look pretty!
Yet again Makeup Revolution have blown me away by their amazing quality products and great idea's to combine a primer and a sealant! I would highly recommend the Aqua Seal if you have oily eyes or if you struggle keeping your eyeshadows in place all day and vibrant, also if your going swimming or abroad in the heat the waterproof ability will really come in handy. Overall the Aqua Seal is a total hit with me!Have you tried the Aqua Seal Eyelid Primer yet beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know.
I have been using this with my Makeup Rev pigments and it's amazing!! Such a fab product.
