March Favourites

Hey girlie's!!!! As March is drawing to a close i thought i would take this opportunity to do my very first favourites post, i think i shall keep doing these sort of post's from now on as i love reading them myself. So here are my little beauty faves that i have been loving through the month of March......

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush In Berry Red

I received this Lip Blush at the beginning of March in my March Glossy box and immediately loved it. Its basically a moisturising lip stain in a chunky crayon design. I love the fact that this is a stain as that means the lasting power it alot longer than your average lipstick or gloss which is a little brucie bonus for me as I'm so lazy at reapplying lipsticks, on me its lasts a good 3 hours. The colour pay off is good, you can either layer it up to have a real true red lip or have a simple one wash of colour to create a pinky redish lip. Its priced at £12 so i got a complete steal considering this was in my beauty box. Ill insert a picture of myself below wearing the Lip Blush so you can see what its like on.

Elf Warm Bronzer

I love this bronzer, its not overly pigmented but strangely enough that one of the things i love about it, i prefer to build up a bronzed look and not go straight in at the deep end with a highly pigmented one that just makes me look orange or rusty straight away. The elf warm bronzer in no way is orange, its just a lovely warm bronze shade that is mainly matte with a hint of sparkle running through it to be honest i never even seem to notice any shimmer or sparkle on my skin after using it. All in all i love it and I'm sure its going to keep me all bronzed and glowing all throughout the spring/summer.

V05 Give Me Texture Spray

This is my most favourite product this month, just recently I've been growing my hair out and as its got quite long now I've been curling it loads. After I've curled my hair i spray some of this into my hands and then use my hands as a comb and run it through my hair, it just really defines my curls and makes my hair look super shiny and makes my hair smell lush. I also love is as it allows me to have my hair curly for up to 3 days without needing re curling, all i have to do is simply brush my hair when i get up, spray some of this through my hair again give it a scrunch and it gives me big bouncy defined curls like I've literally just re curled it when i haven't, its just amazing and not overly expensive either so its win win for me.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is another one of my March Glossy box goodies and believe it or not i had never tried it before until i received it in my box, i will definitely be picking up the full size of this as its amazing. Ive mainly been using this on my lips or any dry patches on my face and its incredible, i mainly get dry patches on my face when I've had a spot and its dried up, i then pop abit of the eight hour cream on before i go to sleep and when i wake up the next day the dry patches have literally disappeared. I don't tend to use this as an all over body cream as to me its a little oily but on my hands before bed it works a treat to.

Soap & Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

My most favourite scrub of them all is the Sugar Crush by Soap & Glory, on a whole I'm pretty much completely sold on all Soap & Glory products as they fab and this definitely doesn't disappoint. The macadamia grains and brown sugar provide a lovely medium exfoliation and then there's the lush fruity lime scent which lingers on your skin afterwards. The best thing about this is the way it makes your skin feel afterwards, its just so smooth and soft and the oils within the scrub seem to really moisturise and make your skin feel really pampered. Ill definitely be repurchasing this over and over.

Whats been you favourite beauty product this month?? Id love to know :)

Dainty Doll Makeup Review Part 2

Hey girlie's!!! So this is my second instalment of my Dainty Doll makeup reviews after picking up some of the Dainty Doll range from Fragrance Direct recently....

Dainty Doll Mascara & Eyeliner Duo
in 001 Good Gosh Miss Molly

I really wasn't impressed with this product at all, the mascara was just awful it done nothing for my lashes i think the fact that the brush was nearly dry didn't help i literally had to put the wand in and out the little tube about 10 times before any mascara was actually on the brush, the brush itself is a bristle brush not a plastic one and is aimed to lengthen and thicken and for me it does neither. The eyeliner is okish, its extremely hard to apply as the brush is more like one lonely bristle that isn't even sturdy enough to apply, once your get past that and manage to apply it, it is extremely long lasting and doesn't budge. I did only pay £1,99 for this so its not a great loss but i noticed there are some sites still selling this for £17.99 and for me its not worth it at all.

Dainty Doll Lipstick
in 006 Baby Love

I love this little beauty... Its the perfect nude, its nice and moisturising and the staying power is amazing. The packaging is metal and nice and sturdy the only thing that's annoying is like I've said before the shade name is no where to be seen on the product so if you had a few of these in your makeup bag you would have to open them all to find the shade your after. The lipstick was £1.99 what an absolute steal.

Dainty Doll Concealer Pen
in 003 It's A Kind Of Magic

I was so excited to try this concealer as I've never had a concealer in this type of pen form before, at first i thought i had a dud as you have to click the end for the product to come out  but i was clicking and clicking for ages and then all of a sudden a mass amount of product came out which was a bit annoying .The product itself is really easy to work with and blend  although it does dry quite quickly so you have to work with it fast, id say this is a light to medium coverage but is buildable too. All in all i do love this product and will be using it everyday from now on.

Please check out the first part of my 2 parter review on my products i purchased.

Dainty Doll Makeup Review Part 1

Hey girlie's!!! As you might of known from a previous blog post i bought a few Dainty Doll makeup items from Fragrance Direct recently, after using them for a while now i thought i would start reviewing them all for you so here goes.....

Dainty Doll Cream Blusher
In 002 Orange County Girl

To start i adore the outta packaging if i saw this on a makeup stand in a shop id certainly be attracted to go and look at it as appearance's are everything to me in a makeup product, the actual product packaging itself is really nice and sleek and compact, it doesn't feel cheap in anyway nore does it feel like it would break easily if its chucked in your handbag or makeup bag. The one thing i didn't like was that the shade of the product is no where to been seen on the blusher casing itself so that's abit annoying.

Orange County Girl is a peachy coral shade with a high amount of gold sheen to it, i find its best applied with my Real Techniques Stippling Brush as i get a real even amount of product on my cheeks and its really easy to blend with that particular brush. The product itself is really lovely to use its so silky and smooth to apply and blends out really well, the pigmentation id say is good but you can build it up quite easily for a more brighter look. Personally i think this shade is best for the summer or when your on holiday with a nice tan as that's when i think ill get the most use out of this blusher, all in all i think its a lovely and the fact it was only £1.99 is even better, gotta love a bargain!!!

Dainty Doll Eyeshadow Base
in 001 Frankie Girl

I was so excited to try this I'm always on the hunt for a great eyeshadow primer or base as i get extremely oily eye lids and find a lot of eye shadows crease and slide. The product itself is a rather hard cream in the pan but once you warm it up with your finger its nice and creamy and easy to blend all over the eyelid to create that perfect eyeshadow base.

I must admit i wasn't expecting much from this for some reason but i was pleasantly surprised, it blended out onto my eyelids really smoothly and my eyeshadow went on really well, when i was blending my crease colour i found it was done in a matter of seconds for some reason it just blended my eyeshadow out really well and super quick. The lasting power was also great i didn't experience any creasing at all or any sliding id defiantly say its worth the £2.99 that i paid for it. In a nutshell I'm really pleased with the results and will defiantly be using this base everyday from now on.

Hope you enjoyed the start of my Dainty Doll makeup reviews, have you bought any of these products??

Soap & Glory Smoothie Star Body Lotion Review

Hey girlie's!!! After receiving a big Soap & Glory set as a gift a while ago I've now had the chance to try and test all the products in it in full, one of my favourites is this, the Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk.

As with all Soap & Glory products the packaging is gorgeous, it comes in a plastic bottle with a nice sturdy pump, i love the fact that this has a pump as i think it makes it much easier to apply and cleaner too, i also find i use it more because of it having a pump. Inside you get 500ml of product which i think is fab as its going to last a long time, I've been using mine for just over a month straight and my product has hardly moved down at all which shows me a small amount of this goes a long way.

The ingredients include almond, cocoa, yogurt, oats and honey, it goes without saying it smells delicious like all Soap & Glory products do, to me it just smells like a really nice cocoa butter. As the bottle states this is classed as a Body Milk so you would think it would be quite a runny consistency and not overly moisturising but no its actually really creamy and extremely moisturising.

I love the fact that this moisturiser soaks into the skin quickly, if there's one thing i hate is that horrible sticky feeling like your waiting for your skin to dry and you feel you cant get dressed as your so sticky, well you certainly DONT have that problem with this, it melts into the skin really quickly and leaves your skin feeling so moisturised and it just smells lush, i found the smell lingered on my skin for a long time afterwards too.

I would defiantly recommend this to everyone, for the amount of product you get and the amazing quality of the cream id defiantly say its worth the £10 price point, i will also be repurchasing this when i run out although i cant see that happening anytime soon as like i said before a small amount really does go a long way.

A Picture Tells A Thousand Stories #5 ( Sunday Summary )

Hey girlie's!!!! Hope you've all had a lovely week. You may have noticed that last week there was no Sunday summary of my week in pictures, the reason behind this is because i had been really poorly with a bad case of a horrible flu bug and i had hardly uploaded any pictures on my Instagram, this week however I'm fighting fit again. This week has mainly consisted of me going to work, doing some baking (which I've really been getting into recently) and then more work, me and Michael also had to make it up to our Mums this week for missing Mother's Day on Sunday as we where both still so poorly, yup that right Michael also had the flu too. Anywhoooo here's my week in pictures ♥

My stash of medicines helping me through my horrible flu ♥ An old pic of me and my Mum, this picture was for Mothers Day ♥ Ive been getting extremely into cooking and baking recently so i made some caramel cupcakes ♥ Me, as i was starting to feel more human again ♥ I baked a yummy marble cake with chocolate butter cream frosting ♥ Love this quote ' Laughter is the best cosmetic.. So grin and wear it! ♥ My throwback Thursday was a toddler picture of me being a bridesmaid ( I'm on the left ), i was cute once ♥ Mm mm the chocolate caramel McFlurry's are out for Easter so i indulged ♥ I got extremely happy that it was Friday ♥ Off to work in my new pretty dress ♥ Oh my Milky bar giant buttons, YUM ♥ My good morning face on Saturday ♥

♥ My favourite song this week is Cheryl Cole Ghetto Baby, its a track from her A Million Lights album and i just cant stop playing it on repeat this week  ♥

Benefit They're Real Mascara Review

Hey girlie's!!! After using my ' They're Real ' mascara on and off for a while now I've decided to do a cheeky review on it. Hope you enjoy!!!!

The Claim: They're real! lengthens, curls, volumizes, lifts and separates. The jet black, long-wearing formula won't smudge or dry out. A specially designed brush reveals lashes you never knew you had!

The Result: When i first used this mascara i was blown away by the results, my lashes where so full and long and really jet black, there was no smudging and i also noticed you could really layer up this mascara with quite few coats and i experienced no clumps at all. The brush itself is a plastic bristled brush which I'm not a fan of as i find them quite rough and this one in particular is very spiky but is easy to use, the end of the brush has a smallish spiky type ball to make it easy to get to any hard to reach or short lashes, all in all the mascara was brilliant, however, after around 3 to 4 weeks i noticed my mascara was really drying out and during this drying out period i noticed that the mascara really flaked under my eyes as i wore it, as this mascara is priced at £18.50 i believe it shouldn't dry out that quickly and to be honest i don't think its worth the £18.50 price point either as i can get similar results from a high street mascara that's cheaper in price and doesn't dry out so quickly.

Glossybox March 2013

Hey girlie's!!! As i haven't done a Glossybox review since January i thought it was about time i done one again. This years Glossy box's haven't really been blowing me away if I'm being totally honest although this month my box is full of little treats that i know i will completely use up.

This months box is based on being City Chic and making sure we are well groomed at all times, the box has 5  handy travel size products to help us achieve this.

Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour Cream- I was so excited to see this in my box as I've never tried it before and i know its well loved in the beauty world, the sample gives you 7ml's worth or product to try which to me didn't seem enough although i am told a little bit of this cream does go a long way, hopefully it was last long enough for me to give it a good try out.

♥ Juicy Couture, Couture La La- I'm a big fan of the Juicy Couture perfumes but i must admit receiving perfume samples in my beauty boxes drives me mad, the shear fact that i can go to a department store and pick these samples up for free is the reason why it annoys me so much, putting that to a side this perfume is lovely, its got a light floral but slightly fruity scent which will be lovely from the spring/summer weather.

♥ Tresemme Extra Hold Hairspray- I was a bit miffed but happy about getting this in my box, i didn't understand why we got a not so high end hairspray as I'm pretty sure if your anything like me i buy these boxes to try out high end products that i maybe don't wanna spend a fortune on before I've actually given the product a go, moaning aside i do really like Tresemme hairsprays anyway and this will get used, its just abit annoying that i can pop to my supermarket and pick up a can that are usually quite cheap on offer anyway.

♥ Nails Inc in St James- I'm so happy i got this, the quality of Nails Inc polishes are amazing and the fact i got this gorgeous classic red colour is just fab and always a winner.

♥ Jelly Pong Pong Lip Blush- The only full size product in the box and i love it, its basically a large chunky lip stain crayon in a gorgeous red blushing colour, for some reason i cant actually find the actual shade number or colour name to this anywhere on the product but i still love it. Its not overly moisturising but the stain does stay put for quite a long time for me it was a good couple of hours until i noticed some fading.

Also including in this months box is My Little Travelling Book which runs through some must see places to visit, its so nicely designed and had a shabby chic passport look to it and also has some super cute stickers in the middle, i think would be great to stick the little stickers over your Glossybox and create like a keep safe travelling box where you could keep all your used tickets or nice photo's from your travels in, all in all this months box is a winner for me as i know i will use each and every product i got.

Dainty Doll Makeup Haul

Hey girlie's!!!! Recently i discovered a website called fragrancedirect.co.uk, as i was browsing i noticed they had quite a few nice makeup brands at quite discounted prices, what a Brucie bonus!!! Obviously i had to take advantage and buy a couple of things to try, well it would of been rude not too.

Ill insert some pictures of what i purchased and the fantastic affordable prices i paid, i will be doing full reviews on all my product's soon as i haven't had chance to try them out properly yet to warrant giving them a full review.
