As I was having my usual lunch break browse in Superdrug I noticed Bourjois have brought out a new collection, the Happy Light Collection!!! The collection consists of four new 'Happy Light' make up goodies which include a foundation, a concealer, a matte serum primer and a luminous serum primer. Obviously me being me, I just had to buy the foundation to try.
Firstly how cute is the name of this collection, maybe I'm just odd but the quirky little name makes me like it even more ha ha. The foundation is also packaged nicely and comes in a nice glass bottle with a plastic pump dispenser, which I always prefer as it's alot cleaner and easy to use.
The foundation itself is available in 5 flawless shades, I opted for the shade '50 Porcelaine' which is the lightest shade in the collection, it happened to be an exact match for my skin tone even though I wouldn't class myself as having a pale skin tone at all but hey ho.
The Happy Light Foundation is aimed at giving us healthy, glowing looking skin without the bother of having the added shimmer or glitter particles running through it and claims to give us a luminous, flawless complexion in any light.... So the question is what did I think of the Happy Light Foundation???
Well... Firstly the texture is lovely, it's so light and silky and blends beautifully into the skin when using my Real Techniques Buffing Brush, be careful if you use your fingers to blend as it can go slightly streaky. In terms of coverage I'd say it provides a medium but buildable coverage and instantly evens out the skin tone and corrects redness. The finish is very much matte and I always swerve powdering my face when I use this foundation as you just don't need it, if you girlie's do like a dewy finish then I'd say this foundation really isn't for you. Also you don't have to worry about looking ghostly in pictures when wearing this foundation as their is no added SPF.
Overall I do really like Bourjour's new offering, I love the fact that the foundation is so weightless and isn't oily at all, the translucent pigments really do give the affect of healthier looking, glowing skin and it didn't cling to any dry patches on my face either which is a bonus. My only negative is there's not many shades too choose from in the collection, if you have a paler skin tone or darker skin tone unfortunately i think your going to struggle to a find a shade to suit but other than that I love it!!!
You can pick your 'Happy Light Foundation' up in Boots and Superdrug and is currently priced at £7.99 as it's on an introductory off, it's full price when it goes up will be £11.99, so if you want to try it I'd pick it up now and save yourself some pennies before it goes up he he.
Have you tried this foundation yet or any of the Happy Light collection??? I'd love to know your thoughts!!!
