Being the huge mascara junkie that I am, today I’m massively excited to share my thoughts with you all on the Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara that I've been road testing over the last couple of weeks.
Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara* (£9.99) claims to give your lashes clump-free, 360° volume, with 16 hour hold and is meant to be easy to remove so I just had to put these claims to the test. I'm just going to go straight in by saying I love this mascara and have been so impressed by it. Firstly the application process is very quick and easy, I'm guessing that's where the 1 seconde part of the title and the unique brush with spherical bristles comes in, you literally achieve instant volume and length with just one to two strokes, theres no faffing around with building up coats of the mascara for volume or length it's just instantly there which I love, and theres not a single clump in sight.
As I mentioned before the Volume 1 Seconde Mascara comes with a unique brush with plastic spherical bristles, personally I do like the brush however it is quite large and people with smaller eyes may struggle with applying the mascara without getting a blob of mascara around their eyes. I must admit the first few times I used the brush on my lower lashes I got a blob or two of mascara on my under eye area but now I've mastered the brush that doesn't happen to me anymore thank goodness.
The formula of the Volume 1 Seconde Mascara is really nice, it claims to last for up to 16 hours (The waterproof formula states 24 hours which I cannot comment on as I have not tried it) and I can say that over a 10 hour period it does stay pretty well. I experience no flaking what so ever, it stays nice and black all day but I did get some ever so slight smudging on my brow bone where my lashes obviously rubbed against my brow bone, but that wasn't instant and only seems to happen a lot later in the evening (after the 10 hours) when I've had my makeup on all day. I do have oily eyelids so I just put the slight smudging down to my eyelid primer wearing off a lot later in the day creating that slick oily feeling around my eye, I honestly think if I didn't suffer with oily eyelids there would have been no smudging what so ever because my lower lashes never smudge at all.
Overall I am really impressed with this mascara, the volume and length that I look for in a mascara is achieved with Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara and it leaves you with that instant eye-opening look. I love the fact it doesn't flake and during the day it doesn't budge on me at all, it's just a really good drug store mascara in my opinion.
Have you tried Bourjois’ Volume 1 Seconde Mascara beaut's?? What did you think?? I'd love to know!!
