Primark Haul ♥ | September/October 2013

Hey girlie's!!!

I recently took a trip to one of my favourite high street clothing stores... Primark!!!! I thought id give you all a little peek of the few things i picked up as i know you girlie's like to no what's in store at the moment!!!!

Festive Print Knitted Leggings £10.00

I had to start with one of my favourite purchases, i mean ,how stinking cute are these knitted leggings!!!! I thought they would be perfect for lounging around the house to keep you all snug and warm and get you into the festive spirit, not that i need any help in that department he he.

Plum Hoodie £10.00

I always have a browse around the men's section not only with my boyfriend but too hunt down some snugly primark hoodie's. I always buy my hoodie's from the men's section as i find their more snugly and soft inside than the women's ones, strange i know!!! I picked this gorgeous Plum coloured one up in a small and it fits perfect, its great for just lounging around the house or for when i walk my pooch Alfie!!!

Khaki Jacket with PU Sleeves and Faux Fur Collar £27.00

I was searching for a jacket like this last year but could never find one that just fitted me perfectly until now. As soon i spotted this little beaut in Primark i fell in love and it was in my basket within seconds!!! The PU sleeves are actually really soft and they don't look or feel stiff like the usually faux leather sleeves do, the faux fur is also really soft and detachable and you can sintch in your waist with the little secret toggles inside the coat too. I find its a great jacket to wear now whilst the weathers slightly chilly but not super cold!!!

Super Cosy Tights £3.50

These tights are literally the best tights in the world when the weathers really cold but you stick want to rock your cute dresses and skirts!!! They are 300 denier micro fibre tights with a super soft fleecy lining, they literally are 'super cosy'!!!!

Chunky Knitted Snood in Wine £5.00

When the weather gets really cold i have to have a nice cosy snood to snuggle into when I'm out and about and i thought this one would be perfect. I love it's wine colour and its also super soft which is exactly what i like, there's nothing worse than and itchy scratchy snood!!! Primark also have another snood very similar to this one but with little glittery bits in for £4.00 but that was super itchy, so beware!!

Burgundy Beanie Hat £3.00

Another cheeky men's wear purchase, i couldn't resist the colour again ha ha!!! I also love the style of this beanie as you can wear it slighty saggy (awful word i know) at the back instead of having it pulled tight to your head, which just looks silly on me.

Knitted Ballerina Style Slippers £3.00

Personally i love the style of these slippers as they fit on your feet properly like a shoe but are super warm and fleecy inside like a slipper. I also love how pretty and girly these are too, they're so me.

I hope you liked my very first haul post, if you'd like to see more Primark hauls or just any haul type posts in the future please let me know!!!

September Favourites ♥

Hey girlie's!!!

I cant quite believe its that time again.... September favourites time!!! This month has literally flown, although it makes me super excited for all the Autumnal fun ahead he he. Anywhoo... I thought i would share with you all my favourite beauty products I've been loving throughout this past month... So here goes...

Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan

A fake tan is something i never thought would be in my monthly favourites as I'm really not much of a fake tanner, but ever since trying out the Cocoa Brown Tan I've been completely converted. I love the fact that with Cocoa Brown you get natural looking results within an hour with the option of leaving the tan on for up to 3 hours depending on how dark you want to go. The reason i love this tan so much is not only is it quick and simple to use but the colour is beautiful and isn't orange or rusty looking in the slightest. Check out my full review here.

Mac Quad Palette

I was lucky enough to get this Mac quad palette with All That Glitters, Satin Taupe, Naked Lunch and Omega inside for my birthday at the end of August. It fair to say I've used this nearly everyday during September as the shades are just so beautiful and great for everyday wear. The only downside is I'm now addicted to Mac eye shadows and now need more in my life, my purse is going to hate me he he.

Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner

I have always struggled with applying liquid eyeliner until i got my hands on this little beauty, its literally amazing!!! If you also find applying liquid liner hard work or creating wings/flicks never goes your way give this a go, the felt tip nip makes it super easy to use and to create straight lines and level flicks. It had great lasting power too and stays in place all day, i also love that its a matte finish liquid liner making it perfect for daytime. Check out my full review here.

VO5 Give Me Texture Tousled Style Spray

If you curl or wave your hair this little beauty will be your best friend, i just love it. Ive been curling my hair quite often, its just the style i seem to love at the moment and this spray seems to really help with the effects. I literally curl my hair, put a few pumps of the tousled style spray into my hands and then use my hands like a comb and run it through my hair, not only does it get away any frizz but it just adds more texture and oomph to my hair. I even use this on second/third day hair and it will literally bring your curls/waves back to life like you've just re curled your hair, its amazing!!!

Topshop Nail Polish in One Hot Minute

Ive been addicted to this shade 'One Hot Minute' though September, its just that perfect shade to get you from summer to autumn, its a nice magenta shade with that autumn berry vibe which i love!!! The Topshop nail polishes are also great in quality and the packaging is just super cute. You can check out my full review on Topshop nail polishes here.

Whats been your favourite beauty products this month??? Id love to know!!!

Maybelline 'Metallic Pomegranate' 24 Hour Color Tattoo | Review

Hey girlie's!!!

After a super long time debating as to whether i needed a Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo  cream eye shadow in my life, i finally caved in when i saw how pretty 'Metalic Pomegranate' looked and just how autumnal looking it is!!!

First of all i love how sturdy and secure the packaging is. It comes in a thick glass jar with a plastic screw lid. The screw lid is really secure when its fastened meaning no messy accidents in you makeup bag which is a bonus. I hate it when your make up packaging has a mind of its own and ends up having a party in your makeup bag!!

Metallic Pomegranate is a gorgeous deep reddy brown shade and is packed full of tiny little gold shimmers. When i saw the gold shimmers within the cream eyeshadow i immediately thought  there was going to be glitter fall out everywhere, which is something i really don't like however.... I can honestly say i never experienced any fall out during application or throughout the day so I'm seriously happy about that.

The formulation of this Color Tattoo is lovely, its so silky smooth and creamy. It also applies really smooth and blends out beautifully, personally i like to apply and blend this with my ring finger as i get the best results that way. The Color Tattoo's are great for using either as an eye shadow base or you could use it on its own for a quick and easy wash of color. The thing that amazes me the most about these color tattoo's is the lasting power, my goodness they don't budge at all!! I know the clue is in the title with the '24 Hour' staying power promise but i honestly didn't expect it to last as well as it did, i applied mine around 7am before work and even when i took my make up off around 7pm it was still going strong and looked exactly the same as it did when i applied it in the morning with no creasing or fading at all, and with the added fact i have very oily eye lids that completely amazed me!!

Overall I'm super impressed, there's literally no bad words i could say about 'Metallic Pomegranate' and i can see myself getting alot of use out of this shade through Autumn/Winter. Maybelline certainly have a winner in their Colour Tattoo's that's for sure, I'm definitely going to have to treat myself to some more now.

You can buy the Maybelline Color Tattoo's for £4.99 from Boots and Superdrug.

Skinetica Review

Hey girlie's!!!

I was recently lucky enough to try Skinetica!!! Skinetica is a kind to skin anti blemish lotion with the added bonus of being a super toner too!!! It claims to clear those angry red spots, pesky blackheads and everyday blemishes in up to 2-3 days, which to be honest is a very bold claim in my opinion. Personally i don't suffer with bad break outs very often, but i do occasionally get the odd spot or two which always leave me with horrid blemishes which tend to hang around for ages so i was keen to put Skinetica to the test. So here's a little bit more information on this super lotion that is Skinetica he he and if it worked for me....

Skinetica is fast acting anti blemish lotion and great if you have an event coming up, yet your skin is looking a mess! Best of all, it's very gentle to skin and won't irritate you, making it suitable for all skin types, including sensitive, and all ethnicity's. Skinetica can also be used as a super toner, used after makeup removal and cleansing, or before makeup application, to remove any traces of dirt or grime and give you a totally fresh canvas. You can use Skinetica in this way even if you don't have any blemishes, as it will prevent them from appearing, amazing right???

Skinetica can also be used as a makeup base. For those of you who suffer with slightly oily skin, you may accustomed to getting a really shiny face after a few hours of wearing makeup. This can occur all year round, but will be even worse in the hot summer months. Using Skinetica under your foundation will ensure it stays in place firmly and will minimise shine, all the while fighting blemishes and imperfections.

If all of that wasn't good enough the application couldn't be easier, you simply pop some of the lotion on a cotton pad and either wipe over the effected area's alone or your entire face, easy!!! Remember your skin must be free from makeup, moisturisers and be completely dry and clean before you use the lotion, otherwise the results wont be as affective.
So has this worked on my horrid blemishes you may be wondering??? Well... the answer is yes!!!

(Apologies for the bad picture quality, both pictures where taken in the evening after cleansing)

As you can see from the before and after picture my blemish has almost vanished in 2 days, and bearing in mind this blemish has been on my cheek for quite some time and was left behind by an ever so lovely spot, and now its nearly gone in 2 days i couldn't be happier!!!

I would highly recommend this to an acne sufferer or someone who is prone to having regular break outs as i think this will do your skin the world of good, also if your like me and you get left with blemishes this would also be beneficial, not to mention it can reduce oiliness of the skin!!! It's definitely worth a whirl!!!

You can buy your 80ml bottle of Skinetica on the Skinetica Website for just £9.99 a bottle or alternatively you can sign up to try a free 15ml sample to try, brill!!!

Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials | Part 1

Hey girlie's!!!

Being the Autumn/Winter lover i am i couldn't resist doing a post dedicated to some of the products that are going to be well loved by me this season. I'm going to do this post in two parts so look out for more beauty essentials coming soon. I hope you enjoy.....

Lips

Its essential to look after your lips over the colder month's as they are more prone to getting dry, flaky and chapped. Its always good to use a good lip scrub often as this will not only put some well needed moister back into your lips but it will remove any dry flaky patches and prepare a nice base for your chosen lippy, don't worry if you don't have a scrub, you can always just cover your lips in lip balm, take on an old toothbrush and gently buff over your lips, it will give you identical results as the scrub would and saves yourself buying one.

Lip balms are my best friend over Autumn/Winter, i tend to lean towards them alot more than wearing lipstick as they just feel alot more moisturising and comfortable. My favourites for this year are 'Cherry Carmex', this does an amazing job at preventing chaps and keeping my lips flake free also i love 'Maybelline's Baby Lips in Cherry Me' this not only moisturises but leaves you with a nice glossy tint to the lips too. Even though like i said I'm not huge lipstick wearer during Autumn/Winter i still do need the go to shade that i can use when i want a pop of colour, I've chosen 'MUA Shade 1', its a gorgeous berry shade that's perfect for evenings out or to wear during the day if your makeups quite natural looking.

Nails

Barry M Nail Paint in '273 Raspberry' is one of my all time favourite nail polish shades, its just so gorgeous. Its a plain berry red shade perfect for Autumn and great over the festive season with a nice glitzy top coat. I'm also quite partial to Barry M's Mushroom shade, its a nice neutral brown/taupe that seems to go with everything through Autumn time!!!

Hair & Body

Its strange to think that the cold weather can damage your hair, but the truth be known it can, the cold air dehydrates your hair which can leave it brittle, frizzy and unmanageable so its best to give your hair a little treat every now and then. I was recently introduced to Eden Organic Care Avocado Oil, its a multi purpose oil but my favourite way to use it is on my locks, i simply put around 2 pumps worth in my hands, run it through the mid lengths of my hair, leave it for around 10 minutes and then shampoo out with my normal shampoo, it couldn't be easier and afterwards your left with soft healthier looking hair.

The colder climate can also take its tole on our skin, i always notice my skin gets quite dry and rough when its cold so a nice thick creamy moisturiser is essential!!! My favourite is 'Soap & Glory's The Righteous Butter', its so thick like a body butter yet creamy and just melts into your skin, it also smells amazing and you'll notice an improvement almost instantly.

So that's part one of my Autumn/Winter Beauty Essentials, pert two will be up soon.

What are your Autumn/Winter beauty essentials??? Id love to know!!!

MUA 'New' Smokin Palette Review & Swatches

Hey girlie's!!!

Make Up Academy are back with yet another gorgeous eye shadow palette, welcome the release of the 'Smokin Palette'. It's the perfect palette to create either a glamorous evening smokey eye makeup look or a more neutral smokey eye make up look for daytime wear, brilliant!!!

The palette is made up of 10 eye shadows in total, 4 being matte neutral shades and 6 being more vibrant metallic shades, all of which are packed full with pigmentation and just generally look amazing!!! A new little addition to this eye shadow palette is that each eye shadow has a name unlike the other mua palettes which don't. The palette also includes an intense black eyeliner to help with the 'smokin' effect and complete your look.

The shades on the top row in the palette are....

Glory is a cream matte shade, perfect for either using as a base or highlighting the brow bone.

Boudoir is nude/peach matte shade, again great for using as a base.

Ghost is the most gorgeous shimmery taupe/grey colour.

Fantasy is a matte dark taupe shade, i love using this in the crease and also through my brows.

Mythical is a matte black shade, great for getting all smokey.

Broken is a shimmery copper shade.

The shades on the bottom row of the palette are...

Icon is a shimmery metallic looking purple/plum shade.

Unleash is bright electric blue metallic shade.

Chaos is deep metallic green shade which makes me feel really festive he he.

Wicked is a dark metallic gunmetal shade.

As you can see from the swatches these shades are not only gorgeous but the quality is outstanding. Every shade is highly pigmented, easy to blend, really smooth in texture and they all have amazing lasting power even on my oily eye lids without creasing. The kohl eye liner that's also included in the palette is nice too, its very soft and creamy and great for smudging out and creating those smokey eye looks.

Yet again MUA have triumphed in my eyes, this palette is absolutely stunning and great for Autumn/Winter time use too.

The palette is available on the MUA website and in most Superdrug store's for just £6, what a beauty steal!!!

Have you tried the Smokin Palette yet??? What did you think???

Sleek Pomegranate Blush Review | Perfect For Autumn

Hey girlie's!!!

Ive been on the hunt for that go to Autumn blush for a while now, i wanted something with that pop of colour that would give me that cute flush to the cheeks without looking like a clown or a disco ball he he. Finally i found myself this little gem 'Sleeks Pomegranate Blush'.

Pomegranate is a berry/raspberry shade with a slight metallic sheen to it however... Once its applied to the cheek it gives you that cute flush that you get when its really cold outside in the winter time, its just such a beautiful blush. When i saw the metallic sheen i was slightly worried it would be too much but i must admit the metallic sheen is only ever so slight, i can hardle notice it to be honest. You don't have to worry about this blush being glittery in anyway either as there's no noticeable micro glitter particles running through the blush itself.

As with most of Sleek Blushes 'Pomegrante' is super smooth in texture and isn't powdery in the slightest,  it's easy to blend and packed full of pigments, a little really does go a long way with this blush so be careful not to load your brush up too much. I also adore the packaging, it comes in Sleeks standard black 'sleek' looking packaging that feels lightweight yet durable and opens up with a nice mirror inside which i always think is a nice touch for any on the go touch ups.

Overall I'm super happy to have this beauty of a blush in my life, I can tell its going to be well and truly loved by me over the Autumn/Winter months.

You can buy your Sleek Pomegranate Blush in selected Superdrug stores and on the Sleek website for £4.29.

The Autumn Tag

Hey girlie's!!!

It's fair to say i absolutely love this time of year, so when i saw this Autumn Tag floating about on the blogosphere he he i knew i had to join in, so here we go....

Favourite thing about Autumn?
There's so many things i love about Autumn, the fact we can get out our snuggle jumpers and pj's back out, the spicy scented candles reappear and the evening hot chocolates come back out to play, its just so lovely. I also get really into baking and cooking when it's cooler, there's nothing like a home baked gingerbread man or stew that wont make you love and appreciate that its Autumn time.

Favourite Drink?
It's all about the hot chocolates and cups of tea with biccy's to dunk for me, although I do enjoy a gingerbread latte when I'm out and about Christmas shopping!!

Favourite Scent/Candle?
I'm a huge candle fan as it is, my house is full of them!! But in Autumn i love to stock up on lots of berry, cinnamon and spicy scented candles, it just makes your house smell so warming and wintry.

Best Lipstick?
I must admit I'm not a huge lipstick wearer in the Autumn, I'm all about lip balms to keep my lips nice and moisturised so they wont chap in the colder weather however, i do love the berry red colours on a day when i fancy wearing some lippy. My favourite at the moment is MUA shade 1, check out the full review here.

Go to Moisturiser?
I will just be sticking to my trusty moisturiser which is my 'Simple Rich Moisteriser'.

Go to colour for your eyes?
I'm all about the neutrals, usually i mix and match the shades in my Urban Decay Naked Palette but i just recently got a Mac Quad Palette so I'm sure ill throw All That Glitters and Satin Taupe into the mix as well.

Favourite Outfit to wear?
This is super easy for me, I'm all about pretty dresses with thick tights, boots and a chunky knitted cardigan to throw over the top.

Autumn Treat?
Hmmm my Autumn treat will probably be a nice new coat and some new winter boots. I've also been eyeing up the Mac Cranberry eye shadow too, naughty me.

Favourite place to be?
As cheesy as it might sound, but my favourite place to be in the Autumn is snuggled up on the sofa with my boyfriend watching a movie, preferably either the Harry Potter's or Home Alone 1 and 2 as they always make me feel all cosy and ready for the colder month's.

I hope you enjoyed reading my take on the Autumn Tag!!!
I tag everyone who reads this to get involved and to get excited about Autumn!!

Autumn Eyes | Make-Up Look

Hey girlie's!!!

I thought id share with you all what will be one of my most favourite ways to do my eye makeup this Autumn. I adore my golds, browns and bronze colour's so this look will mostly consist of those pretty shades. I am getting braver when it comes to eye shadow though, and will be showing you a nice berry toned look ill be wearing too very soon.

To create this look i started off with perfecting my base...

I buffed in my 'Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation' in 100 Ivory using my 'Real Techniques Buffing Brush', i then went on to conceal my dark under eye circles and any blemishes i had with my 'Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer' in 1 fair. To set all everything into place i used my Mac Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Medium and finished of with a small amount of my 'MUA Blush' in Candyfloss.

I then went on to the eyes, my favourite part he he...

To create this eye makeup look i used....

The Urban Decay Naked Palette taking the shade 'Half Baked' on a fluffy blending brush and softly blending it across the lid, i then took the shade 'Smog' and blended that into the crease and slightly over the lid also, and i finished off with using 'Hustle' at the outta corner just to darken up the look slightly. I then used my 'Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner' in black to line the upper lash line and winged it out ever so slightly, nothing too dramatic though. I lined my waterline with 'Avon's SuperShock Gel Eyeliner' in black and finished of with a coat of 'Max Factor's Wild Mega Volume Mascara'. For my brows all i used was the shade 'Buck' from the Urban Decay Naked Palette just to make them appear more full.

For the lips I've kept it quite natural and just used my 'Baby Lips' tinted lip balm in 'Cherry Me', this is my favourite shade out of the collection and keeps your lips lovely and moisturised through the colder monthes preventing chapping.

I hope you liked the first of my Autumn eye looks, any feedback would be great as this is my first ever eye makeup 'look', I'm in no way a make up artist but i do try my best he he!!!

What eye shadows will you be wearing this Autumn??? I'd love to know.

Hayley
